  • Awesome comment. You may want to check the 100% Raw Powerlifting federation for rules and records. The suit is a light wrestling singlet that all lifters MUST wear. The belt is the only equipment allowed. I can curl 225 also, but not strictly. This event has the lifter against a vertical bench to prevent the use of the back in the curl.

As always, notice my positive views and comments even to negativity. Strong mind and strong body. I wish everyone safe and progressive lifting.

  • First of all this shit isnt RAW he's wearing a fucking weightbelt, and a powerlifting suit... and this is no where near the world record... theres plenty of vids of people doing 225 actually raw

  • well, I can curl a 50lbs barbell. :/

  • Not a jacked competition. It is a strength competition for 100% raw powerlifting. Try it without using your back and it gets really hard. I can curl over 200lbs with regular form and deadlift over 650lbs. Check records on 100% Raw Powerlifting website. Thanks for your comment.

  • I curl 135 once and I'm no where considered jacked so World Record...I think not!

  • WTF curl competitions?

  • The fat dude thats spotting on the left really does a lot when you're putting the weight back

  • I can only do 130.

  • uh nice try but Big Cliff does more

  • Awesome! I like when people lift hard and to their limits.

  • Thats impressive!

  • Thanks bro

  • O fuck

  • really good curl. proper form and everything. pain on the right side after your lift, any idea why? same things happens to me after heavy curls.

  • That was sick, I only lift when im training for hockey. But I can hardly curl 80lbs let alone almost double that.

  • 100% Raw is drug free federation. There are lots of guys who can lift more in other federations that do not test for drugs. This was for the 220lb class. Records are listed on the Rawpowerlifting website. More retarded records are shown there also. I guess it is retarded to lift drug free and support others who set personal records and compete. LOL

  • @priorityphysiques lol i dont get why people compete if they wanna use drugs how is that competetive

  • Retarded video. This is in no way a world record. LOL.

  • Thanks dude.

  • Thanks dude! LOL

Check records for the drug free 100% Raw Powerlifting. LOL

  • @priorityphysiques hope your training hard im workin my way up there to beat your record!

  • I saw a video of a guy who curled 210 almost 10 times

  • I'll be amazed when someone stricts 225 like the great CT Fletcher!

  • I watched this video and didnt see one single rep. It looked like he was rocking the weights. What a total waste of time.

  • Theres a reason they dont have Curls in powerlifting meets anymore.

They are stupid, mean dick as far as actual strength and there is such a fine line between proper form and improper form.

  • Nothing wrong with the evolution.just saying I like to lift mac trucks lmao but good shit

  • @SHOTaMilf look again his arms are huge. They don't look big because he is well proportioned.

  • hard work always beats the gym pussies who sway curl more than they weigh and look weak. good work thats a real raw rep!

  • Thanks bro! We love positive comments.

  • He didn't even have big biceps?

  • Yep, I have always been very strong for my size. Was a skinny kid who just consistently lifts for the fun of lifting.

  • Magnus Samuelsson did 315 for 4 reps, and he did not even lean mor than 10 degrees if that much. Does the lean create THAT much of a difference?

  • @lkgurmer magnus samuelson was much bigger also in 100% raw you can not take any performance enhancers what so ever other than basic creatine

  • Thanks for clarifying this for others. Raw powerlifting is drug free with only a belt used as equipment.

  • Comment removed

  • damn it,i weigh 176 pounds,so according to my calculations im a piece of gym equipment

  • its only 80 kg . I can lift that over my head easy but try and do what he did =no chance lol

  • oh yahh well i can deadlift that

  • a meet with a lift being the curl?? honestly never heard of that one before. but what ever works i guess. kinda stupid in my opinion.

  • Cool

  • @Travisk100 Seriously you have hate on this guy curling 176 pounds? fucking faggot.

  • @joseph4ta no i have hate on you for being a fucking faggot.

  • Hey there, haters are cool to me. I think it is cool for others to go on videos and hate when less than 1% of the population can do these lifts at that weight. It is always cool to say that they know a friend who can do it. It was just an event at the powerlifting meet. I entered and did well, it is what it is. So all is cool with me.

  • thats serious natural strength with perfect form lets see others that cheat swinging their back try this

  • im 16 and can currently curl 115.. is that any good for my age?

  • I don't get the debate here. I've been out of the scene for a very long time. Firstly, a backboard to prevent cheater curls is, well, basically cheating. Either you can do it with acceptable form or you can't. Secondly, Larry Scott used to curl 225, I believe it was, over 25 years ago. I'd like to think that he did it without 'roids, but that's probably too much to ask. All of this shit is pointless. All of it. We all have our passions. I do respect 176 for a drug-free curl. That would hurt me.

  • @theoriginalbillholt maybe because society knows just like the users that steroids give a massive advantage for strength and energy during training so it is cheating since u would never be that strong without them try and defend them and u are just another user.

  • @Stoksie01 You should look up the definition of cheating because you clearly dont know what it means. Anyone who uses steroids such as power lifters and bodybuilders are using where EVERYONE else is to. So the playing field is even, so hows that cheating? People that take steroids want to get past the natural abillity on what there doing. So whats wrong with that? Do you honestly think everyone who says there natty is really natural? Think about how boring sports would be without steroids.

  • @KynexWOW hey man wtf don't get your panties in a bunch he never said anythig about steroids he talked about the form, therefore when he mentioned cheating he probably meant bad form at bicep curls such as swinging your body and/or putting your shoulders into it

  • @Klymenos12 can he not fight his own battles? LMFAO why are you commenting for him.. that your boyfriend??

  • @Stoksie01 it's possible to get stronger naturally as opposed to people on steroids. just depends on your plan of attack and how mentally strong you are. i know a couple of people that never touched them and can squat well over 800 and bench just over 600.

  • nice man

  • Hahahaha 'back support " Hahahaha what a bafoon!

  • Can he do it without back support? THAT would be impressive.

  • @JohnnyWishbone85 That's not there for 'back support'

  • good form man, keep up the work

  • Beast..I can curl a hot chick!!!!!lol.Good vid man

  • Does this burn your forearms, too? I've been curling 135lbs+ with pretty strict form, and I find it probably burns my forearms more than my biceps, and that's from a guy who works without any lifting straps on my pulling exercises.

  • Not an easy feat for a man of that bodyweight.

  • bicep curl for one rep power = GAY

  • Thanks dude. Yes I guess that curling for one rep will make me gay. I'm going to tell my wife and kids now. Thanks for helping me come out of the closet due to my curls.

  • @priorityphysiques seriously, there no benefit to that, it promote 0 muscle growth, you only did it for an ego trip. deadlift 1 rep is a different story

  • I got first place in the deadlift that day also. First I failed at 622lbs and then pulled it. Check the results of the 100% Raw World Championships. Powerlifting meets are all 1 rep max. We do our growing and training all year long. No ego trip, just agreeing that it's gay to do 1 rep curls. I do regular lifts, when they added the curl I did that lift also and just happened to do well due to being very strong overall.

  • is this really a world record? I had a czech friend in highschool who does 195 on the preacher curl for reps?

  • theirs this dude at my gym hes a ripped 6'8 and he can curl the 150lb dbs 12 times

  • Oh I thought it was dumbbells I was about to be impressed. Unfortunately, I actually know a guy in person that curls 90 each arm 10 times. That's on his 5th set btw. "fitness x infinity" Dylan. That dude is beast

  • Awesome!!! I curl with 90 and 100lb dumbells for reps of 10-12. Your friend is strong and I respect that. Thanks for not being impressed. That's cool too....

  • Yes, I can curl 100-110lb dumbells with good form also. Your friend is very strong. I respect all lifters.

  • I love to curl also and smart man wearing that belt!! I dont curl without mine..Great Curl and congrats!!

  • Wow, I was expecting some horrible form but man you proved me wrong. Nice lift!

  • Thanks

  • Yes indeed! All you have to do is sign up for the next competition and break the record. I'm surprised that the record still stands since 2010. Competition is encouraged, so many people talk about it, but nobody shows that they can do it. Talk, talk, talk...

  • i must of broke the record years ago ,cause i can rep 185.

  • Yes indeed. The next competitions are listed on the raw powerlifting website. I am sure that you will be man enough to sign up and enter the competition and offer competitive numbers for fellow liftings to attempt to beat.

  • @trophytaker100 Yea, rep 185. If you can even get it up I'm guessing you have terribad form. Next time you "rep" 185 make sure your standing with your back flat against a wall. Also, record and and post it on the internets so you can break the world record.

  • Creating hypertrophy in the muscle is more important then useing super heavy weight...the strech n contration is most key in getting huge ask anybody real bodybuilder

  • I agree, It will all depend on the goals. Some people want to stay smaller and strong for health reasons. Wearing a suit for work is important and not looking like a bodybuilder. We just lift for fun, not very interested in being huge.

  • @priorityphysiques also not to mention you are way more athletic if you lift for strength but not size. Who doesnt wanna be lean and super strong! I'm a track athlete who powerlifts a little for fun and its amazing how much lifting helps if you just lift for strength and power

  • Sweet ass chrome wieghts.

  • very impressive , but not to brag or any thing i hit 215 lbs 6 rips but not in a strict form ill just hurt my back !!

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome! You can film it and put in on youtube. That is impressive.

  • why the belt and the ez bar?

  • Because that is the bar that was there for the event. The belt is used for powerlifting events to prevent injury. I have 2 kids, a wife and a job so I never want to hurt my back. So instead of getting injured, I wear a belt since I am over 40 years old now.

  • This is really impressive.. but I think there are more than enough 300+ unnatural guys out there who can shatter these curl records, but just don't really bother to.... so nobody will ever have the strongest biceps lol.

  • Comment removed

  • True, I competed at 220 that year and weighed 216 that day. 100% Raw is drug free, so lots of big guys over 250lbs have tried but still have not broken the overall record for that lift yet.

  • hahaha they'll be having calf raise world records next

  • hahaha, or they will have the World Record for making fun of others who lift at events. Call that the hahahaha World Record!!!

  • Thanks man. We all love positive remarks from people who respect all lifters. The goal is not to be the best. Just work hard and be the best that you can be and respect others who try hard to reach a goal. Much respect to you!

  • refreshing to see a real lift on u tube, good job, nice strict lift!

  • This is not impressive... I know a kid who is 14 an one arm curled 150. That's impressive (no steroids)

  • Thank you for your negativity. I am proud of the 14 year old who curled 150lbs with one arm. I wish him the best also!!! I respect anyone who lifts hard and does their best.

  • lol is this a record? ive done 185 at the gym strict and no one came up and offered me a medal

  • Awesome dickweed!!! You rock. All you have to do now is curl 185 strictly at an organized competition! Keep up the good work!! LOL

  • this is bullshit i can one arm curl what hes doing with two!

  • Awesome! See how I show all lifters positive love. Even your one armed 175lb curl. Keep up the good work

  • @PaulBocian Then make a video.

  • How is this a fail?

  • is 180lbs really the record?...... that seems soo... mundane

  • Yes DeliciousPoop , it is the RAW record for 100% Raw powerlifting

  • I got a friend that wound Kill at this event

  • This is very impressive. People are always wanting to do curls very strictly, but if it's muscle yer after, heavy weights are a must. All the big guns I've seen doing big curls rock that bar upwards. I learned in anatomy class that heavier weight causes more muscle fibres to be recruited in the lift.

I've been trained as a PTA and my beliefs are to use natural body movements when lifting. All my various injuries resulted from doing 'strict' movements. I now tran Max OT and it rocks!

  • @LordSauceness SOME lifts.... on some lifts you can have pretty lose form and still get great benefit...... obviously barbell curls are one, most of the pulling and rowing moves for your back you can do reall sloppy too (but not deadlifts)......... can't really bench sloppy or shoulder press sloppy

  • I think yer talking about mult-joint lifts vs. single joint lifts. Curls are one of those lifts that can run the gamut of very strict to all-out sloppy. But people tend to forget that when curling more than 1/2 your body weight, the weight will pull you forward at the 90 degree mark. Basic laws of physics. Thats why big guys with big weights need to lean back to counter the forward pull, otherwise injury can result. Check out Max OT training....big weights, loose form. Very efficient.

  • Thanks

  • @LordSauceness Naw, its all about maximizing tension in the muscle. If you know how to maximize tension, you can get the greatest benefits with relatively lighter weights.

  • @KingRockets * Naw, its all about maximizing tension in the muscle. If you know how to maximize tension, you can get the greatest benefits with relatively lighter weights.*

I guess the anatomy book they gave in phsyio was wrong then. It states that the heavier the weight the more muscle fibers recruited to lift that weight. I strongly suggest that you take a look at the Max OT training system, which utilizes those principles. Light weights will never get you 20 inch guns..

  • @KingRockets

You can get "some" benefits that way, but you will never get huge without heavy weight, just won't happen. Vince Gironda advocated super strict form etc., and he looked good, but he was never that big. He was ripped, but never that big...

  • they shouldn't allow ez curl bars at competitions. straight bar is where the real strength is.

  • I wasn't expecting to see such good form. Most "power curls" on the tube are horrible. GREAT JOB

  • Thanks for the positive energy

  • Thanks bro!!!

  • Well I guess you have it all figured out then. You have all the answers. We check our federation's raw records at the 100% Raw Powerlifting website. For the 220lb weight class it is currently 670lbs for that federation. I am sure that you can do that and put your name on the list. Happy lifting to you and I wish you the best

  • his biceps aren't even that big...

  • @fakeandgay69 strength doesnt = size but size does = strength. hes not that big cause he doesnt train to tone, he trains for 1 rep maxs

  • @MrMuffins1000 psssh... strength has a very high correlation with size, Magnuesson(world record holder in the deadlift) has some of the biggest legs and calves that I have ever seen

  • @fakeandgay69 oh my christ.....i never said there wasnt a correlation, but like i said "SIZE EQUALS STRENGTH" but "STRENGTH DOESNT EQUAL SIZE" in alot of cases it does but not nessarily...like in this video this guy isnt overly big but he jus attempted a record curl

  • and squats are very beneficial also. not saying they are useless. far from it.

  • and this is a beautiful curl.

  • @alfredtink

except for the struggle at the 5/8 on point on...

  • i can do that with my dicik

  • powerlifting- trying to get the biggest total from the Bench, Squat, and Deadlift. i dont see any of them lol

  • Awesome! I deadlifted 630 for 1st place also that day.

  • Man, that was an impressive lift... Great form! I noticed this was 2009; have you attempted even heavier since then?

  • people don't realize how much test of strength the strict barbell curl is. in grapplling, carrying stuff it carries over real well. better than the squat i would say. anyway, how much can you do with a straight barbell. i am asking because i am thinking of switching to curling bar. w

  • @alfredtink are you seriously saying curls are more beneficial than squats??!!!!! hahahahah

    curls are for girls

  • @jtmoore33 curls are not for girls. they are very benficial. that is why the old timers used to have strict curling contest. big doug hepburn did very strict curl of 260, john davis did 200, john grimek did 190 for reps. these guys did them in very strict fashion. with a straight bar.

and i was talking about grappling when i said curls are better. because yoiu use your arms alot more. you can squat a thousand pounds, but once your put on your back. it ain't much good.

  • Curls are for guys and girls. Anyone who wants to curl can curl. If you don't want to curl, then just don't curl. happy lifting both guys and girls

  • Homeboy curls my bench.

  • @Lasershot117 poor guy

  • @PayQPayQ I've been working out for 5months only though so I don't feel that lame :P

  • i mean i really dont consider this to be any major test of strength like a squat but hey good work dude

  • Hahaha, yes real lifters know that you have to unbuckle your belt after your lift. So I guess I reach over and unhook my lifting belt. As always, thanks to all the real lifters who comment and know that we compete to set and reach personal goals. We always support each other and help each other train and prepare to stay strong, healthy, and age gracefully.

  • See him holding his side (hernia) lol 

  • eh, big deal...

  • wow he curls more than i bench.. haha

  • wow he curled my body weight lmao

  • Wow! first time in 45 years of gym going that I've ever seen a strict curl contest or a strict curl with that kind of weight. Quite impressive.

  • Um...170 is not the world record.

  • We do 100% Raw Federation. The records are different for drug free events. Go to 100% raw powerlifting federation website and check out the record for raw lifting events.

  • not even close

  • thats pretty beast

oh btw everyone... no one really cares about how much you say you can curl unless you can actually prove it haha

  • @DelinquentRodent

    270lbs

  • I curl 200 at home. Sets of 5. Bollocks

  • @rot1221 Body-weight?

  • strong dude strong

  • He made that look easy, I reckon he could have done at least 10lb more. Strong MOFO!

  • Damn lol. I'm only 145 and I thought I was good for doing 90 lbs for 5 reps strict. I could never picture even touching that!

  • WR??.

Magnus Samuelsson can do more than 140KG in curls if he want or could more exactly when he was strongest :P

  • this isn't close to a world record, andy haman has done way over 225 for reps

  • @imtonasty andyhaman= big fake ego lifter, and also read the title thats STRICT curling u know how hard it is to not lift ur butt off the wall?

  • @muzimuzi What kind of fucking joke are you? You don't think andy could do this weight for 8 reps STRICT when he curls way over 225 for reps? dumbass

  • @imtonasty this guy has been cought fake to his 600x4 benchpress - do u honestly think if some1 held a world record they wouldnt go and compete about it? hell, if i accidently held a WC for spitting for the most far distance, i'd go and record it, this means that if this clown actually curled 225 for reps and could STRICT curl more, he would've gone and set the record you moron, because hes clearly an ego-monster so he would want the whole world to know, to bad u cant fake plates in meetings

  • @imtonasty lifting is a weight class sport. theirs a world record in every category

  • I have been through MANY videos of little kiddies trying more weight than they can manage and this is FINALLY a video I can respect. He has the back support to prevent cheating, he doesn't scream out and make lots of odd noise, and finally he put his nose to the grindstone and just did it!

  • @HulkingBravo maybe it was dead strict but im positive it took him years of cheat curling to get used to such a heavy weight!

  • @muzimuzi Agreed. Everyone has to cheat a tad when trying new and heavier weights. Afterall, you wouldn't make it anywhere by having strict form ALL the time (It's just that people seemingly abuse this for the sake of an ego satisfaction that is so irksome)

  • @HulkingBravo actually coming to think about it, u do involve some ego when lifting big i think? i know personally that because i wanted more and more and wanted to tap my ego a nutch, i curled from 100 to 120 to 150 eventually cuz i wanted more, but i never curled anything close to 176 thats for sure (not on strict that is) , and ofcourse ego is ego but lifting big requires lots of will and desire to (which most gymnstics wouldnt even have)...

  • good job bro man i wish i could curl that all i curl is 90 :( but hey we all start somewhere. keep up the good work

  • Thanks for your positive words. You must be a fellow lifter and respect others in the game. At that meet I also got first place in the deadlift with 622lbs raw deadlift. I will shoot for the World Record of 670lbs raw this year. So once again, Thanks for being so positive and respectful to all fellow lifters. You rock dkp998!!!

  • @priorityphysiques 670 lbs isn't the raw WR

  • @priorityphysiques good lift man, its refreshing to see someone using strict curl form, I work at a recreation at a prison and i can't tell you how many young kids i get in trying to curl the world using nothing but their backs and shoulder muscles.

  • @priorityphysiques 670 is the raw deadlift record? i've seen a 18year old do 805 raw... whats the record for the 200lb weight class?

  • Wow! That is a lot of weight. I am 41, so I love to see all lifters at all ages do their best. I am shooting for 700 and proud of all of my lifts. I am also proud of anyone who sets goals and works hard.

  • @priorityphysiques What weight class are you in? Last I checked, 670 was not a raw world record for the deadlift in anything above like 62 kilos. There are tons of people on Youtube who can do more than 670 without any drugs.

  • @EndlersaurusRex just curious, how is it possible to know that these ppl on youtube doing more than 670 are drug free...just a thought

  • @princemarth150 I don't know for all of them, but some are tested routinely.

  • Im sorry a curling competition is just...stupid, i mean who the hell cares, really. Try a real lift like squats, bench, or deadlifts. Everyone check out my max calve raise video!! Its super awesome! Id rather watch the ice curling at the olymipics, because its like this curling competitiion, follow me. You could be doing somthing exciting on the ice like hockey, but here you are curling. Just like you could be deadlifting or haveing a huge bench...but here you are curling...Gay

  • @dkp998 Don't be so butthurt brah.
