  • I think I caught a break! I showed the vid to DH to see if he could figure out what and where to get the metal tool that is somewhat folded then taped from the metal banding. He said he thought there were some of those pieces at his work. He's going to check into it and then try to bend the pieces & add tape with a bit of cushioning from foam, etc.. so I can use it. He's also looking into some galvanized steel for the other tools since the one I bought does so well. Thx for the vid. It helped.

  • Hey Simon, thanks for showing us your tool box!

Any chance you could show us how to sharpen our trimming tools? I've noticed mine have lost their "bite" Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

  • PP,

Do you have thrift, or 2nd hand store near you?

We buy sterling silver flatware for less than a $1. ea. The larger butter knife can be flattened off at the end or grind the angles then bend down about 1 to 3/4 inch. You will have a very nice handle not a two sided tool.

Do you know a mechanic or some 1 at your local hardware, they might be able to help? Female? What's that got to do with it? I'll admit I'm not as physicaly strong as I was 30yrs ago but who is? U R strong 2!

  • D: We have a consignment shop in the little town where I live; there used to be this huge warehouse with little booths like mini-yard-sales but I don't know if that is still going on or not. Lost track after I couldn't drive anymore. Oddly enough, I still have strong leg muscles but I've lost a lot of upper body strength over the years & now isn't easier. A classmate showed me how to mix older wet clay with new clay to make it easier to wedge & throw. that helps tremendously

  • That's a great idea as long as older clay isn't to short,( only thrown once!)

I live in a sml twn too yard sells better in country or another twn! I'm still thinking about this and when I get things back together(just did a show?)I'll write some more. You keep writing to us all and do everything you can to get better, sounds like clay meditation helps! Simon's place HaHa is a great place to chat with other

daughters of and the guys too HaHa.

  • "Daughters of Clay" ,sorry got side tracked!

  • The first trimming tool is the one I mentioned from the first tool vid. Is it metal? How would someone go about finding something like that? I'm female, bear that in mind. It's been a long time since I was one of the boys working in underground contruction weaving in ducts or scaling walls and shafts. Even in underground, we primarily used tie-wraps, which I read that police use during riots when they have too few cuffs. I've hunted the second set, 90degree turn ones, for weeks now without luck.
