  • SPACE!!! SSSSSSSSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

  • I remember back in the day I got a kit for my birthday that let you make fireworks:D

  • I love to lick nine volt batteries, it tastes like copper and has a wierd aftertaste

  • I loved making the FoxHole Radio!! Listen to Japan Radio from Junk Wire and dead phone speaker.!! Never ceases to thrill me!!

  • Can someone recommend how one would go about learning about electronics as a somewhat serious hobby? I mean, should I just start with a kit, read some books first, or is there a more preliminary subject that I should invest my time in before attempting to make my own circuits? Thanks =]

  • @VR1ZZA GLADLY! Ive been into Electronics since I was 9 and I went to Trade School for it. (I knew everything they TRIED to Teach me) the BEST Way- is to Buy BASIC ELECTRONICS BOOK at a College or Bookstore. Take EVERYTHING Apart You see and collect the parts. Switches , Parts etc from thrown away Radio and other electronics. You will NEVER get bored or NOT use everything you collect. I went to heaven when I got in to 2-way radio! Talk across Entire Countries onto others from your bedroom.

  • im geting the traditionall ones cause these are....for....PUSSIES

  • Nerdkits, chris, Nerdkits

  • those are great kits...my grid (for the siren/motion detector/ and can't recall the third) but yeah, my grid didn't fit....can get em' for a lot cheeper at amazon...

  • parents are the most mentaly stifling to a childs mental development.

when i was 7 years old we moved into a house whare i repaired the central heating system. it was a loose connector on a electronic momentary pushbutton switch.

wich i noticed carefully examining all the electronics i wasnt that easily detured though.

  • BATH TOY!!!!

  • Me too. The best soldering devices are those that look like pensils, and have a holder with a sponge. They also have temperture switch. You have to ground them in order not to destroy the CMOS ICs. Do you remember the older soldering guns which the TV repairmen used to use? These are not grounded and they destroy ICs. They were use them in those old tube TVs. Well soldering is an art, you learn by the passing of time, making better and better constructions.

  • Who hasn't burned themselves while atleast learning to solder. I have been soldering for a while and I still make stupid mistakes like grabbing the tip of a hot iron.

  • @phin3s i may have accidently touched some hot parts in my first few months of soldering (when i was 12) but i never burned myself(im 13 now)

  • When I was a kid my parents bought me electronic kits all the time to keep me from destroying my toys and VCRs for electronic parts.

  • 1:58 I have a keychain that plays those exact same space sounds. I have a video of it up on my channel look up hacked executor sound keychain.

  • I HAVE THIS AT MY SCHOOL!

  • I have never burnt myself on a soldering iron, and I've never found soldering that hard (except for the really fine stuff)

  • surface mount soldering is hard, try it, good thing to learn aswell. and ive burnt myself manytimes, then again, im an electrical engineer

  • I have on of those

  • wow im 24 and those midi sounds are classic in many of my toys............... wow

  • lol ninteen *ahumpafum*

  • I gave one for my 7 years old daughter last month and she loved it! You should see her expression of excitement when she built her FM radio receiver with this kit and saw it working! It was one of the best gifts ever..

I doubt she'll continue to use it much longer, but good gift for kids.

(I must admit I built my first radio just when I was almost 19, so she outpaced me by 12 years... LOL)

  • what is that? what's the use of it?

  • That is one sensitive photocell! I used one to play music through a laser poiner!

  • Snap kits are very fun. But what I do is I buy soldering kits from Ramsey Electronics. It is more challenging because of the soldering you have to do. It is quite fun. I got a snap kit that was basically a robot that was VERY fun.

  • Hey Chris if you are currently 35 then i think you were born in 1974 lol am i right?

  • i had one of those when i was younger, but i had the mega kit

  • A good reviewer never receives compensation for the products he reviews. You're not a reviewer, you're a salesman.

  • try GUNDAM MODEL KITS!

or as they are called...GUNPLA! give it a shot!

  • actually cosco has better deals on batteries. unless you need llike specialty batteries

  • Ya but you have to pay monthly to go there

  • This kit is nothing new at Radioshack. I bought their ultimate snap kit from them almost 4 years ago. It included well over 100 projects, parts in use your own IC chips and a cord with software to view waves on your computer screen. I once built a blinking LED circuit using this kit plus the Timer IC Chip 555.

  • ooh cool i had one just like that those things are so much fun

  • good idea.

  • those are the generic space gun sounds! i loved those things

  • I had a thing like that but larger with tons od different atachments ect it was called "hot wires"

  • DUDE!!!! I remember my brother had a little handheld device about the same size as a car alarm remote that had those same space sounds. This was back in the early 90s.... Anyone remember those?

  • I loved playing with my radio kits.

  • i remember playing with the kits with like 100 or more different sized wire and connecting different setups with wrapping the wires around springs i was like 6 years old

  • I have one of the medium-sized kits with about 300 projects, but the motor broke, as well as one of the switches.

  • My old friend had one of them. Of course he doesn't have it now... When I used it i overloaded the thing and set it on fire lol...

  • i love those they are so much fun

  • I like licking 9volts !

  • try a scaletrix track you get a good jolt from that !

  • Electronic...Kits? Plural? Aren't you only talking about *this* particular kit?

  • More likely he's referring to the fact there's a series or set of kits. So yes, plural.
