tits from "Live at the BBC" tapes, which is official and can be bought easily. its very official, and you hear the Beatles sing and talk about the songs they will sing. of course this is real, its just done in a studio at the BBC not poor quality recordings at clubs or live concerts with screaming. the tape has a track list if u dont believe it.
This is Ringo. The Beatles made two very early BBC appearances before Ringo joined, but the sound on those tapes was really fuzzy, too bad to use on the album.
@elmerhdga wtf are you talking about, how about you get a fucking life and quit starting shit. I wasn't even saying anything that bad about this version, it just does not compare to the other versions at all!! If you can't see that, then you don't know shit!!
Sad news for all Buddy Holly fans: The dean of our fraternity, Bill Griggs of Lubbock Texas, THE Buddy Holly expert, true rock and roll fan and researcher extraordinaire, has passed away. We will forever remember his friendship and dedication to great music. Rock On Bill!
@TheFatal05 I heard only one version of Buddy Holly doesn't have solo but I've just listen the original and you're right! it has this unique solo. Thank you for informing.
some incredible rare archive pics of The Quarrymen-then-The Blackjacks, Johnny and the Moondogs, The Silver Beetles, The Beatles-great job on this video-Past members
This is awesome! I never knew The Beatles did Crying, Waiting, Hoping. Up until now, I've only heard Buddy Holly's version. I think the Beatles did a great job with it!
This must be an early recording - in the pictures, that's Pete Best on the drums.
@rhall4th its on the "Beatles Live at the BBC" album- which is quite official and easy to buy as it was a big hit. the recording was done in 1962- and the tape was remastered/re-released on cassette & cd in 1994.
@rhall4th and its not necessarily Pete Best on drums. The album includes the Beatles talking, and Ringo is there on some recordings. the album was done in 52 sessions between 1962 and 1965- so some were Pete best, some were Ringo depending on the year.
I agree with you, Sr. Suarez. I'm a Beatles-age, Beatles fanatic but Buddy Holly was an incredible talent. Probably, like you, it makes me appreciate the "boys" all the more because they appreciated people like Holly, the Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry and others and saluted them by playing their style and sometimes their songs. They usually did a pretty good job on them too! All the best.
They were geniuses but Buddy Holly was a genius first. I like Buddy Holly's version a lot more. But I don´t nothing to say against The Beatles. And I'm happy to hear them doing a Buddy Holly's song.
at least Pete Best & Stu make it into the Beatle Equation. After getting screwed most of his life Pete finally got paid with Anthology. And I would have to agree that Ringo was the Beatles Fate. But if they had kept Pete the very same thing goes down.
Wonderful. I like this version more than the orig of buddy holly. Aw slideshow from Hamburg with Stu Sutcliff, even Rory Storm and others. Great times the 60ees. pity - they never come back
Best photos of early beatles.I think PETE BEST should get more credit than he has gotten in the past. After all he was there in the beginning and did all the heavy lifting in the start of it all.He truly was the 5th beatle. He should write the book. After all he was THERE.
@artmonkid John Lennon would have fainted, lol. He was a BIG Buddy Holly fan. Also Elivis but Buddy died so young John susposely walked into class and slumped into his chair saying...oh God, Buddy Holly is dead
Hé DUMBO these are not the Beatles but Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers from 1961.THE STAR WAS TONY SHERIDAN !!!!The guitarplayer of Vince Taylor and the Playboys.
.And those later recordings of that group from Liverpool you may throw in the dustbin. That was rubbish!
wrong again this recording was the beatles with george lead vocal and ringo on drums after the hamburge sessons where the pictures were taken with best and sutcliff
buddy hollys version is better but this has a better solo
