I can't work out how to get the orange portal to be where it is, how do you get it there but manage to be next to the door to place the blue?

So the key is to be accurate with the blue portal, not with the orange, correct? I feel like I'm getting the blue portal as close as I can, but when I walk to the orange I don't teleport. If I shoot the orange right under myself as I look over the edge the screen shakes a bit, as though I were to glitch, but doesn't quite do it. Any suggestions?

@keyser66guitarist You didn't get the blue portal close enough. The orange one was fine because otherwise, you wouldn't have shaked.

Ok, if you have no-clip on, how do we know that you got through the door because of the glitch, and you didn't just walk THROUGH the door?

@dstebbin I toggle noclip so I don't fall to the floor. Its a tutorial, so I'm explaining how to do it, not proving that the glitch exists. If you want proof-of-concept, watch any other Portal edge glitch videos on YouTube.

@dstebbin You do realize that 'trans' is used in MANY other words than Transsexual. Transportation, transgobal, transpolar, transatlantic, transcontinental, transliterate, transubstantiation, transect... Use a dictionary sometime. Transgenic is the mixture of different genes in the same organism.

Nice. Yep, got it to work. Took quite a few tries to get the first one, however now I can do it fairly easily. Even uploaded a demo video that starts the beginning of Chamber 18; the demo shows can be done without noclip.

its not even possible if ur not using noclip - u cant get 1 portal at door and one at the edge. u can only reach it if u use noclips. sorry but failure..

How did you manage to get one portal by the door and one by the edge? I can get the portals in the right place but then I can't get to them. I watched your speed run but it happens too quickly.

You download them and put them in your maps folder in your Steam/SteamApps/YOURUSERNAME/P­ortal directory.

Yeah. I record the video with Fraps, while I'm recording the microphone with Audition.

Adobe Audition. Or, if you don't want that, Windows comes with a sound recorder called Sound Recorder. Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder.

nice ,i would like to see a tutorial of OoB cuz edge glitch is simple comparing to OoB ! its just hard to get back when you are outside the map...i can only do it if i try million times :/

Do you just need to know how to get back in? Cause the edge glitch is used most of the time to get out of bounds. I'll make a tut of just how to get back into bounds if that is the case. There are multiple ways to get back in, so the video will be quite longer.

lol...nice tutorial man. Unfortunately I cannot play portal any more for a long time because my parents took away my comp cuz I was playing too much. Oh well, I will be checking on the vids, when I get my comp back I plan on making an optimized oob run. I look forward to it.

hey good job explainin it. what i have a hard time figuring out is like in ur cham 18 oob route, how do u know where to shoot the portal which brings u oob?

Test and check. You have to consider how your orientation is when your body is sticking OoB. I just made a demo yesterday of being able to get into the final hallway from the starting hallway, but I didn't make it into a video yet. I have to try to solve the 'waiting for her to stop talking' problem that Iijil illustrates in one of his recent videos.
