Now, I know that Penance Stare is used against evil, but every character has done something in this game that was wrong, and the majority of them have killed people without remorse. Pretty sure they've all caused pain to another without caring or thinking twice at some point. That, and the battling is based off confusion and each character going after Galactus for their own reasons, so the pain caused here is also just enough for Penance Stare. Besides, Ghost Rider does what he wants.

If Ghost Rider grabbed you by the collar and said "Look into my eyes!", would you respond "Sorry, but I'm generally a good guy so you can't use that on me."? Hell no, you'd die like anyone else: everyone has done something wrong in their lives, and Penance Stare feeds off all the pain you've caused others, and makes you feel it as you die. The only thing that stops it is the lack of a soul, which no truly living thing doesn't possess.

So we're left with Super Heroes getting nuked when they shouldn't even be on Ghost Rider's radar. It hasn't got the get-out clauses of Shun Goku Satsu where there is a physical component(Taken to Hell-attacked by demons/Attacks with Hadokens attached) to cause the damage to purer sorts.

Don't see any of that actively advertised for UMVC3. And at least MK9 has selective character downloads, with FREE compatIbility packs, and isn't just forcing the player to buy a package. I'm just saying that in terms of total content, SSF4 did offer a bit more than UMVC3. And didn't deconfirm 8/12 of the new cast for vanilla.

Not disagreeing it may inspire other companies, but I think they were planning on doing this as DLC until the tsunami incident, and more ideas came into play and a decision was made to do a SSFIV and give us more features than the planned DLC for a lower price.
