  • I had a bjorn for my first baby and never went back. With my second I bought a sling from a company that makes them locally (sewfunky.ca) and I LOOOVED it and when my 3yrd was 2mo old I bought the gemini. I bought it after watching your video on BBII vs Gemini. I got it because it had so much more versatility, especially with 3 young kids. I will never go back to a bjorn and have so many playground moms ask me about my gemini :) I adore my Gemini most of all. And so do all my kids :)

  • Thank you! I will definitely look into them!

  • Wow, thank you for commenting back! I was wondering if you had any advice or input on slings- like the Maya sling or any other brand. I had the Moby wrap and only used it once because it was such a pain to put on. My little one is almost 7 weeks old, but she is kind of a chunker. I have done a lot of looking into the area- as I do with everything- but, everyone's opinions are different on the matter of slings, what ones are good, and whether or not they are even safe. Any ideas?

  • @gennas187 Honestly I never did get the hang of a sling. I didn't feel quite comfortable with them, but I didn't use them until my baby was more of a hip baby. However, having used a few I really like the AP Hotsling. AP meaning adjustable pouch. It's the easiest to get a perfect fit on! I used a Moby Wrap for a while too and found tying it on to be quite cumbersome. Hotsling is out of business but you might find one on thebabywearer. LOVE that website! Also I really like Seven Slings.

  • I for one love your videos, they have helped me purchase both the BBII and the Gemini. I find your videos very helpful and informative and not to rehash the negativity, but I can't believe the nerve that some of the other reviewers had to leave such nasty comments! If they don't want to watch, they don't have to, and leaving comments like that is not only unnecessary it says a lot about the type of people they are. Keep it up, I look forward to watching you!!!

  • @gennas187 I'm so happy you like the videos! That means so much to me. I really appreciate hearing that they were informative enough to help to purchase the perfect baby carrier!

  • Thanks for this video!! I have the Beco Butterfly but when my son reached about 8 /9 months he wouldn't face in anymore because he wanted to look around and see what was going on!! He went from loving the Butterfly to not liking it at all because he was always straining to turn his head 180 degrees! I wanted to check out the gemini before I invested so much money. They're not really out in Europe yet and you can really only buy them online. Thanks again!!!

BTW your son is really sweet :-)

  • @denikaturner It was about 8 months that I started putting my son on my back in the Butterfly. I'd try that first. If he's still not happy invest in a Gemini. However that much weight on your front side facing out pulls on your back. So don't over do it!

  • @denikaturner Thanks so much! I LOVE my Beco Butterfly and not sure there is anything else out there that quite compares. Have you tried a back carry in the Butterfly? I plan on making a few more videos about how to transfer from front to back easily.

  • I am sorry but why are you guys yelling at this women, she didn't invent the thing she is just showing how it works, and if you go on the beco and bjorn sites they show forward facing. Get off your high horse and let parents decide what is right for there kids. If I decide to pay $140 for a carrier and put my child forward facing that is my choice I bet if you saw me in person you would not even think to say anything if you saw me doing it and if we did I feel sorry for you. I am the mom not U.

  • @0625harmony Thank you for defending me. I agree completely! I am just merely pointing out features. It's up to the individual person to purchase or not. If someone is adamant against a product they should contact the manufacturer, not other mom's for using that product.

  • Wow, you got some crabby comments on here. I have a baby trekker that I like pretty well. If I didn't have it I think I would want this beco carrier though. It seems pretty nice. I seriously only use carriers for walking around a bit. I don't really use them for extended periods of time. I think that if someone does want to wear their baby forward facing out for short times, that shouldn't be such a huge deal.

  • @danishka4jesus You are telling me! Crabby for sure! I LOVE my Beco Butterfly. I'm not familiar with the Baby Trekker. I feel the same way about forward facing out. Everything in moderation. It's not like a child will be in the FFO position for hours a day, every day!

  • Very opposed to crotch dangling children!!! When your baby is forward facing with legs unsupported his spine is arched instead of rounded, which is unnatural. Not to mention putting the child at risk of hip dysplasia. Also having a child forward facing out and crotch dangling can cause sensory overload, they HAVE to take in everything around them and often when they fall asleep in this position its their way of protecting themselves by "shutting down". Consider a back carry instead.

  • @hyattconing I primarily use a back carry, but since so many moms choose a carrier based on having a forward facing out position I felt it was important to show how the Gemini is superior to the Bjorn. I feel if moms purchase the Gemini they will fall in love with it's versatility and learn how to do a back carry. Just wanted to show the options. Thank you for your comment an opinion.

  • this video is crappy at best. your advice is unsafe. not good at ALL!

  • @jeniferrmcdowell How unkind! You don't know me. I wear my son on my back. The purpose of this video is to show versatility of the Beco Gemini and how it's superior to the Bjorn because of it's multiple carrying positions. Most moms are exposed to the Bjorn because it's in mainstream stores, where as the Beco is carried in speciality stores. The front facing out carry is not recommended but mom's will do it anyway. So why not show them the options?

  • @hablab7 because from a babywearing education standpoint you should be showing safe and appropriate carries. this, is not. it is no different than a bjorn. and frankly this carrier plays down to inferior carriers rather than playing up to the high standards of safe and appropriate babywearing. i could never be proud to compare my carrier to something as crappy as a bjorn.

  • oops.. sorry just saw the end of the video with the links.. thanks:)

  • @lindsey27family It's really great! Very versatile!!!

  • Thanks for this video! I think we are going to invest in the gemini:) Do you have any advice on the best place to purchase from?? Thanks;)

  • Heather, thanks for this video. this is exactly what I needed to see/hear to make my decision. I had been using the bjorn (used for my daughter), but the pressure on my back was awful. My daughter was a preemie and even she was too heavy for the distribution of weight on the bjorn. My son weighs 12 1/2 pounds already so I needed something that would carry him without putting my back out of commission. I ordered the gemini. Thank you.

  • @ieducate1 I'm so glad you found it helpful! I really did enjoy my Bjorn when I used it, but that was before I had found Beco! Bjorn just doesn't have the lasting power to be my "go to" carrier for long term. Beco does!
