  • my favourite bit has to be 4:37 that resembles the season 3 theme (but much better)

  • MMMmmm...Love those 'Victory Class' Ships!

  • Babylon 5 has never been bettered imo.

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!

  • Nice vid. Franke's music really gives this clip a more mature and serious tone than Chen's original score.

Victory class vessels are cool and the improved CGI in this film and Crusade are also nice, but somehow I've always had a problem with the Shadow planet killer (or what ever it is). It just doesn't seem to fit in into Babylon 5 universe. I think that the whole idea of a skeletal thingy with a size of a planet (and surrounded by some weird black smoke) just isn't very B5-ish.

  • Actually, I hate the Drakh, because they messed up everything that the good guys did for the Centauri. They were also responsible for ruining Londo's personal life that had started to get much better just before he was 'given' his keeper. AND they try to get Sheridan's son David by putting that keeper into Londo's gift to John and Delenn.

On the ohter hand, they're not as evil as the shadows. IMO they are not very cool (and not intended to be, I suppose).

  • Imo the Drakh are more evil than the shadows. The shadows at least from their point of view were performing a nesisary evil by pruning out the weaker races for the stronger ones. Whereas the Drakh are just POed at the shadows for ditching them and the aliance for driving the shadows away. The Drakh are just after revenge.

  • Ok then we have different opinions here. What makes me find the Shadows more evil is that they are evil with conviction, not due to feelings like hatred or thurst for revenge. They actually 'decided' to be evil (which is not true from their point of view, however, since they think their way is right). What makes this so pervers is that the shadows mistake evil for good.

  • I think it's hard to know exactly what makes the Shadows think the way they do. They grew up on a world far away millions of years ago with a completely different culture and environment. They might have lived in a society where survival of the fittest ruled everything. That doesn't necessarily make them evil. It's only evil when compared to races who support cooperation and unity over ambition to be one's best through conflict of wills. Interstellar War was their way of spreading their beliefs

  • I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with evil or good either. The Shadows thought chaos was the right way to help the galaxy, and the Vorlons thought the right thing was order. Neither way was right for the younger races, they had to find their own path.

  • Exactly. The point of B5 was that what started out as Good vs evil was revealed to be Order vs Chaos, with each side just as bad as the other in the long run.

  • I find that the Shadows are Darwin Fanboys and really believe in his theories. They just want to speed it along a bit. Vorlons are potraited as good, but I feel that they are more manipulating peoples feelings. Compare the 2 Vorlons in the series..I think the second one is the more accurate? Vorlon..

  • @musicniklas What we think if Evil is only an Illusion. The Victors are the ones who write history. The Victors Usually Decide whats evil & not evil. Not to mention We live in a society were we destroy Nations & invade countries & open up Military bases policing the world through tyranny. Even the Shadows Didn't do that, its a Dog Eat Dog mentality. A Lion Fights another Lion to become the Prime compared to the Vorlons who manipulated races by experimenting on them & pretending to be Gods

  • @themisspultone Right on the Drakh. However, I would view the Shadows' policy of "survival of the fittest applied" as a naturalistic fallacy at best and as downright wrong at worst...never forget that evolution is a blind idiot god, which produces whatever works(reproduces best at given circumstances), not what is truly best. Sapient races can and should strive to go beyond simple evolutionary imperatives...

  • @themisspultone Yes totally agree. The Shadows were trying to follow their ideological rule. The Drahk are bitter and just want an Empire. The Shadows saw great potential in the Centauri and Humans, both of which the Drahk want to destroy. They are a younger race though still and probably can't see the bigger picture!

  • Ruining Londo's personal life? Life did a good enough job of that himself!

Not as evil as the shadows? The Shadows were not evil - it depends on your definition of the word. Even in the show, they were categorised as simply 'misguided' like all races (humans, Minbari and vorlon alike.

Drakh not as evil as the Shadows? The Drakh were servants of the Shadows. How could they be as feared if they were more powerful than those they served?

  • Very nice, love the Drakh.

  • the Drakh rock (and the Shadows, of course)

  • Amazing video!
