It works perfectly and I have no problems, except my battery.

It has to stay plugged up the whole time I use it.

Yeah, the battery is a huge fail when it comes to Acer laptops, I have Aspire 3100 and I am completely satisfied with it, but after 3 years, a 5 minute battery doesn't surprise me at all. I should get myself a new battery.

Talk about lying, do not buy this laptop it sucks i gave up on this laptop a long time ago, it has frozen when it was on the Windows Vista Welcome screen i couldnt deal with it anymore i really couldnt take the crap, i could only get about 3 minutes of battery, the overheating problem felt like it was melting my jeans and flesh on my lap, it broke though (System32 Problem) so i took it apart and all i could find inside was dust and lint, never buy Acer Products!!!!! They Suck Ass!!!

My sister got this laptop when it came out, it was so slow but we added a gig or ddr2 ram and it got to a decent speed ($30), but at the beginning of this year the hard drive messed up and we hadn't backed up anything so we just bought an HP dv7, then we found the FREE Ubuntu OS so, yesterday i took out the secondary hard drive that i never used and installed Ubuntu, it's still going good and nothing has fallen off, but the keyboard has gotten weird and we need to press hard for it to pick up

I've had this laptop for less than two years, and I'm ready to smash it against the wall. Less than six months after I bought it brand new from Circuit City, the pin from the power supply fell out. Sent it in, and it came back with a bunch of the silver paint gone. The left hinge today has completely snapped off, leaving me completely unable to close the lid. The battery sucks as well, as it only lasts five minutes or less after being fully charged. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LAPTOP TO ANYBODY.

I'm watching this video on the computer model being talked about! LOL But the battery life could be soooo much better. It freakin' stinks; I'm lucky to get an hour. They do make new Acers with 8 hr battery life for about $700-800. The speakers are pretty weak too and the memory can be flaky. But it was my first laptop for $380 w/ tax, so no hard feelings.

What about the hard drive space, too? Its supposed to be 80GB according to the little sticker on it, but how come in "My Computer" it only says 52.1? There is a second HD; does that count in this number because they got me thinking I got jipped on space.

nope the hard drive is 80 gb but system memory is 512 mb but actually there is a little secret when you get this i comes filled with a buch of crap from acer and microsoft and that takes away 5 gb so its actually 75.36 gb

I got mine for 350...I have had no problems with it, only bad thing are the weak speakers. Other than that, its perfect for doing homework, checking emails, downloading stuff etc.

It was a good buy for that low price IMO.

I have this laptop. AGH! It's good for about the first 3 months...then it SLOWS down. The memory stinks. The battery life is like 40 minutes even when you put it on Power Saver & turn down the back light.

Pros: widescreen and dvd player i guess, good LCD screen, volume lound (varies though), price

Cons: slow, so very slow, bad memory, only Windows Vista Home Basic, HORRIBLE battery life, protect it b/c scratches are easily seen

I've had lots of issues with my Acer Aspire 3680, from poor battery life (only takes 10 minutes now) to Vista's horrible performance. Got fixed twice and I eventually created a dual boot with XP. Basically, Vista on a 3680 is terrible. If you get this, use XP or try out Windows 7, it might be better.

It's not a very good computer at all. I'm using it right now. terrible weak speakers, slow as hell until you get all the pretty vista mumbo jumbo and the acer arcade thing off of it. unfortunately, by deleting that you can't watch dvd's anymore.

Just use media player for all your music and picture stuff. AND GET RID OF NORTON ANTIVIRUS IMMEDIATTELY AND GET AVG

You tards think its a shitty computer? I am using one right now. Never crashed, i installed vista ultimate on it and it handles it quite well. The only thing wrong i had was i accidentally broke my charger but that was my own fault. This computer is really good for ppl who cant afford an expensive one. Btw i have one that costs 850$ and i choose the Acer over it.

Can you upgrade the graphics on this? Mine has slightly different specs (reads as 2 X 30GB instead of 1 X 80GB hard drive and it only reads DVDs, rather than read+burn).

Anyways I upgraded the RAM immediatly, and now I want to get rid of the grahics card that SUCKS. I can only run MS Flight Sim X on the lowest graphics setting and the expansion pack won't run at all!! It says I need something like 4 TIMES the graphics memory!

I have this laptop (it's how I'm typing this).

I've had no problems with it, I bought it at Walmart and it was the last one there and the box was beat up so it only cost $250 =).

The only bad thing is that the speakers suck but I use headphones anyways.

I have a bunch of games installed on it and store all my pictures on it and it still runs great and once you uninstall all the stupid Acer stuff it runs even better.

i have this laptop, its specs are a tad different. the thing that annoys me is the mousepad, there are these little things in the middle of the left and right mouse buttons, and when the lid is closed it makes a little three dash mark above the screen. and home basic doesnt have windows aero. and my screen is not sealed, so little hairs can get in, but so far just 1 little one has gotten in. but im just being picky. there really is nothing wrong with this, really. its a very good laptop

I have this laptop, I like it but there are some major problems with it. For one is the hard drive, I bought the 80 gig and it only allows 32 gigs to be saved on it, what the hell kind of crap is that??? And the speakers are next to worthless, you have to invest in headphones to hear most movies. Bottom line is you should probably save your money for something better like a sony vaio.

I bought a portable external, though, and when I get my paycheck, I'm going to get a 1TB external. And the speakers are ASS.

I love my Acer laptop! I have the XP/512MB/60GB version, and I updated the memory to help it run smoother. Only problem I have is the speakers, which are sub-par. I got it dirt cheap last christmas ($400!!) and haven't looked back since. Great buy!
