@N64N64N64 yet he still can be beaten by a lot of top tier characters, hes fun to play cause hes a giant robot, and people like giant robots. Only noobs and scrubs will have a hard time vs sent, but ammy is a good counter to sent, shes very small and can blast him with ice all day. If wolv hits him once hes dead by a 100% damage combo. Dante can teleport and kill him also if hes not careful. Wesker can give sent a hard time also
why on earth do attacks in the game take up 80% of the screen and can be combo'd indefinitely. tell me on what level that's fun? BLAAAA SENTINEL FORCE BLLLAAAA

You know, it's a shame. When I first heard that Sentinel was in this game, I, being a fan of robots/mecha, was really excited to use him, just because I like the character.
But after seeing everything that's happened because of him, it just makes almost ashamed to even consider using him. Kinda the same feeling that I'm sure many SSBB players had when they wanted to use Meta Knight prior to the game's launch, and look what happened there.
Even if the game already came out, I still can't believe Capcom pulled off the Mag-Storm-Sent on the damn trailer...just to make me relive my MvC2 experience.
I started playing Sentinel a little while ago. He's pretty easy and fun, but I really wish they made his simpler combos do less damage; every time I do a complex combo, I feel like I'm putting in a ridiculously high amount of effort for little more reward.

I played this all this week in arcade mode and thought wow this is cool. So then I decide to try online and then i realized this game is destroyed with ppl using dante and sentinel any match you go into. If the f***ing sentinel doesnt kill you first in a match, you will be bounced all over the screen with combos. WOW capcom forgot to let you f***ing recover from hits... even when your on the floor people can bounce you back up and keep going until pretty much til all 3 of your guys are dead.

@iawesome60 Well, it's not "bad". Opponents will just look at you as if you lack skill so you go for the "overpowered" guys. In my opinion Sentinel is a very difficult character to use (in combination). He may be strong, but to perfect him is something else. Every character is cheap in their own way, and a shitload of the roster is overpowered.
@iawesome60 If you wanna be seen as a respectable player that chooses to win a battle with skill and tactics rather than spamming or overpowerness then NO, don't use Sentinel. @DavetzWin People will just get annoyed for seeing him so often...but he's actually not as tough as he looks. Even with the super armor he gets on some of his normals, Sentinel can't deal with close-range rushdown characters. If someone like Wesker, She-Hulk, or Wolverine gets in close, Sent is finished.
@AdrianGuerra24 you can do a double jump (down and up really fast) that will give you height enough to get all the way over to him you can also press the l1 trigger (or left bumper) during a block to pull off an advancing guard which stops the chip damage and moves you closer to him. if you play with a char that has ranged projectiles you can jump and fire them off, forcing him to block and then dash in.
@AdrianGuerra24 some charecters like dormamu and storm can use abilities that attack from the other side of the screen, they stop that spam right quick. some abilities like ryu's kick will allow you to close distance quickly while in air, try them with a double jump. some ranged abilites have higher priorities, i think chris's open fire with the machine gun (medium) would be able to get through that. if there wasn't a way, it wouldn't be in the game.
@Treifla OK... How do I beat those damn ppl that play phenox .. I cant stand that they use the rage plus dark phenox and all they do is shoot the little fire balls.
@AdrianGuerra24 first and foremost, pheonix is made of wet paper, she has the least amount of health out of all of the characters in the game, most if not all 3bar hyber combos will instantly KO her, even in Dark pheonix form. consider learning a mobile character like X-23, there are a lot of "caster" type characters that fall apart to fast/highly mobile characters.
pheonix can only go dark if she dies at 5 special bars, if you can kill her before this you are golden
@AdrianGuerra24 there is actually a type of attack that will switch your opponents current character, it costs one special bar. if they try to keep her hidden away switch her back in and beat her down. finally consider blocking and spamming assists that will either protect you or hit her. since she is so low health it doesn't take much spam to take her out.

At the start of the video Sentinel being with the classic Sent/Mag/Strom team is the "TEN MORE YEARS!" shot.
Basically with this CAPCOM is giving a big "F*** YOU!!!" to everyone who complaiend about this team being godmode in Marvel 2.
Yes, this team is no longer as broken as it was in MVC2 but they are all still top tier characters and most pros use them.

go online and every n00b you play with will have Sentinel in their group.
with the Hulk...with the 3rd person being somebody small as hell so you can hit them as easy.
go into a corner and blast lasers...they can not be blocked. you can't even duck-down and block those shits.
but it makes the game fun IMO. fuck balanced! i want mad action on the screen!

@iawesome60 Well, it's not "bad". Opponents will just look at you as if you lack skill so you go for the "overpowered" guys. In my opinion Sentinel is a very difficult character to use (in combination). He may be strong, but to perfect him is something else. Every character is cheap in their own way, and a shitload of the roster is overpowered.

Adding him was the worst idea Capcom did for this game. He's broken by all means of the word and I'm tired of people sticking up for him. I've beaten him with Dante and Wesker, but doesn't change the fact he's annoying.

@DavetzWin People will just get annoyed for seeing him so often...but he's actually not as tough as he looks. Even with the super armor he gets on some of his normals, Sentinel can't deal with close-range rushdown characters. If someone like Wesker, She-Hulk, or Wolverine gets in close, Sent is finished.

@AdrianGuerra24 you can do a double jump (down and up really fast) that will give you height enough to get all the way over to him you can also press the l1 trigger (or left bumper) during a block to pull off an advancing guard which stops the chip damage and moves you closer to him. if you play with a char that has ranged projectiles you can jump and fire them off, forcing him to block and then dash in.

@AdrianGuerra24 some charecters like dormamu and storm can use abilities that attack from the other side of the screen, they stop that spam right quick. some abilities like ryu's kick will allow you to close distance quickly while in air, try them with a double jump. some ranged abilites have higher priorities, i think chris's open fire with the machine gun (medium) would be able to get through that. if there wasn't a way, it wouldn't be in the game.

@AdrianGuerra24 first and foremost, pheonix is made of wet paper, she has the least amount of health out of all of the characters in the game, most if not all 3bar hyber combos will instantly KO her, even in Dark pheonix form. consider learning a mobile character like X-23, there are a lot of "caster" type characters that fall apart to fast/highly mobile characters.
pheonix can only go dark if she dies at 5 special bars, if you can kill her before this you are golden

@AdrianGuerra24 there is actually a type of attack that will switch your opponents current character, it costs one special bar. if they try to keep her hidden away switch her back in and beat her down. finally consider blocking and spamming assists that will either protect you or hit her. since she is so low health it doesn't take much spam to take her out.
