  • Dog!! Fun

  • Freaking awsome!

  • This guy is our generations Clint Eastwood.. and I've loved all of their movies, except for Jersey Girl. Jennifer Hopeless ruined that movie for me.. but I understand why he made it and I respected him for it. I can't wait for his first thriller/horror.. It's gonna be kick-ass like all the others. =)

  • @LoyalNODZealot You enjoyed Cop Out?

  • yawn

  • Trolling at it's finest!

  • "Dogma is Dogshit." LOL!

  • Kevin Smith is the king of comedy! If you guys like this, you must watch An Evening with KEVIN SMITH, An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder, and A Threevening with Kevin Smith. The way this guy tells his stories are amazingly funny. You can't turn your ears off not even for a second!

  • Master troll

  • only hypocritical americans who follow an addressed theme, withouth really thinking about it, would have the intellect to whine about such a comedic intended movie at the first place...

in germany we call people like that "Mitläufer"

funny... there is no english term for it....

    dogma was frigging genius.

  • When you're doing the best job of protesting your own movie, opposed to anyone there to actually protest, you know you don't have much to worry about.

  • Nothing makes a mediocre (at best) movie more attractive than controversy. Has it yet occured to anyone that perhaps this was the producers final attempt at a hurrah for this mess of a film? Films like these, regardless of belief/content, that lack any writing, directing, or acting skills, relay the perfect defininition of the old children's story, "The Emperor Wears No Clothes"?

Worth reading. It teaches that, regardless of the amount of advertizing and hype, cr*p remains cr*p.

  • @chettmansberger stop being such a fetus

  • @plxplxkthx

I'm not a professional movie critic, I just read the reviews. Unfortunately, I also spent two wasted hours of my life watching this postmortem of a movie.

I certainly wouldn't attempt to reason with you, given your obvious deep insight demonstrated by your brilliant, well composed response. But rather, I'd suggest you read the endless scathing reviews written by the critics who DO happen to be pros. In other words, re-read what you responded to, and hear the words you're reading.

  • @chettmansberger In reading your two eloquently worded responses to tone of the great satires of our time it occurs to me your not nearly as intelligent as you would have us believe. Furthermore if you hate this movie as much as you profess then why waste your time bagging on it in a place where fans of it will surely rally to it's defense. I can only come up with 2 reasons. 1 you are a sad internet troll. 2 an over-inflated sense of self-importance. Take your pick, they are both sad.

  • @ogichida30

Well, all I can say in respectful rebutal is that A) it was just this girl's opinion, B) I'm not at all sad - I'm quite a happy person, and grateful to always have the oportunity to get people to think. You might want to try it sometime...

  • @chettmansberger I think all the time, for myself even. I'm not wholly sure you do if you are quoting the "endless" movie critics who are nothing more than no talent wannabe journalists. I suggest you read "The Emperor's New Clothes" and look in a dictionary to learn the definition of "postmortem". I reiterate, if you don't like something, don't watch it. We don't care about your pompous and haughty put downs. and we surely don't need you polluting the space around here.

  • @chettmansberger i was talking more about the fact that you've gone and looked up kevin smith / dogma just so you can complain about it. i've never even seen the film, i just thought that was obnoxious.

  • Belief is a personal thing, I don't comment that much but when I am ill... I did enjoy this gentleman's monologue I am a non-theist - I am not an atheist - believe me I have had a go then I came to a moment of clarity. Maybe one day I will post it, it will have to be really entertaining, something like - and I don't make any apologies for this - Splinter Cell (Conviction).

  • what the fuck

  • jesus christ

  • "Brian, wanna go protest the movie?"

  • I've been wanting to do that for months.

  • I like how BrianJ replied about the Brian Johnson comment =)

  • i think it's hillarious that Kevin Smith is an avid churchgoer, who created all these movies. It's not anti-Catholic. It's a modern day "Gulliver's Travels" but instead of a satire on England, it pokes fun at all the problems in the Catholic Church. Like Dante's "Divine Comedy" if you will, only in a much cruder sense.

All you bashing Catholics need to relax. I am a practicing Catholic who goes to church every sunday and attends Catholic school and I find this movie hillarious.

  • @hxcjuliie Ah yes, you cannot be angry with something, or point out it's holes and most obvious (And obfuscated) flaws beause YOU find this funny. Talk about ego...

  • @Jontish316 And some people are angry with it, or they point out the holes in the story to ruin it for everyone else because they don't like it and expect everyone else to not like it with them. Talk about ego..

  • @hxcjuliie To ruin it? Hah! Man, it's not like you're ruining the book for someone when saying that Jesus dies.

Besides, the first and most simple objection to religious belief is that its metaphysical claims are not true, and in fact are false and come from the infancy of our species.

For instance, explanations were sought for things that were at the time thought inexplicable. We didn't know, couldn't know that the earth went around the sun, etc

  • "All of my comments regarding this piece of cinematic trash are my own. If you don't care for them, then too fucking bad."

    ...oh, the irony.

Because the catholic church is so supportive of freedom of speech, especially towards Dogma.

  • that would be why they pushed miramax/disney into dropping it.

  • you people are such religious freaks u should not be watchin this go back to ur fuckin church. if u want to have a good laugh then watch this video. iif not y the fuck are you ecen watchin this vid. fuck off

  • Why does he need a water glass and a water bottle?

  • to poor the bottle in it no one knows why but comedians do that all the time =/

  • He needs water because without it he'll dehydrate, and possibly die of thirst.

  • lol brilliant lol hes an alright bloke kevin smith, and dogma was a funny film,my only complaint would be he never went far enough ,with all that information at his disposal he should have went a lot! further with it lol still good tho,i like his films clerks, chasing amy, mall rats, dogma, jay and silent bob strike back and clerks 2 all very funny films

  • As far as religion goes, I really don't have one. I'm not for the whole organized...ah, never mind, my point is you both need to settle down, because really...who gives a flying shit what the other one thinks or believes? You don't even know each other. And even if you did it wouldn't matter. This kind of disagreement has caused so many deaths over the years...but maybe somebody should take a good hard look at what your fighting about. Does really matter that much?

  • A catholic medical center, let's pray the cancer away. I'm with searat666, it's all bull shit and it's bad for ya. Text that old couldn't hold anything informative, and if you swallow all of it, it can get you killed.

  • what is this exert from?

  • It's from An Evening with Kevin Smith. You should check it out is full with hilarious anecdotes of which only a few can be found on youtube.

  • Gotta love Kevin Smith

  • the guy at 1:38 looks like Fred Savage from the Wonder YEars!

  • Hey sorry niemanickurwa I accidentally removed your comment. Wanted to rate it up actually. I agree Kevin has quite a fun good vids here on youtube.

The ones about Superman, Tim Burton, Kevin Smith strikes back and Bears & Cubs are some of my favorites.

  • Brilliant. :)

  • lmfao i love kevin smith

  • Sparkles!

  • "hey bryan! wanna go protest the movie?"

    genius

  • no thats him

  • niemanickurwa....hell yeah he is very entertaining. and also intelligent. if you ever have the opportunity to go to a live qna of his...DO IT!! I went to one for Clerks 2 and it was fuckin' great.

  • wow. the kid shown at the end looks like he's about 12 years old. why would you bring your kid to an evening with kevin smith? Did they think he would replace the word "shit" with "pussyfeathers?"

  • Not everybody has a problem with kids hearing or even using those words. Respect isn't just about the words used but the intention behind them.

If some kid here would casually use such words it wouldn't bother me. If they started to use them to be disrespectful that would be another story. And the same would go for using more accepted words in a disrespectful manner.

  • When I first saw the protest I thought, "He's gotta be kidding right?" and this was just the explanation I needed.

  • haha, did that kid at the end have any idea what was going on?

  • That's what I was thinking lol

  • shut the fuck up about damn religion. laugh at the sheer awesomeness of this man, asshats.

  • The part I get a kick out of is how no one recognized him, but the newswoman ID'd him straight away. Clearly, none of these idiot protesters even bothered to actually SEE the movie they were protesting.

  • look a movie is a movie its a fuckin comedy film if you think dogma is a direct attack against religion then u r fuckin nuts the movie was genius

  • OMG, i freakin' cracked up on this XD

  • oh yeah well i eat babies and kill baby seals

  • Dogma is a controversial masterpiece!!!

Well written, smart and simply genius

    Smith rules

  • dogma wus a goOd piece no matter wut u pPl said :p u probley enjoy it tOo u just to ashamed to admit it lol ^^

  • I didn't see many Asian people, what time are you pausing?

  • Aside from the creator having put in the BEGINNING of the movie to say, relax it's just for good humor? The Catholic church destroys its own reputation, without the help of such director's as the one from Clerks. The fact of the matter is, we're a growing global society who utilizes the question why (a question sorely depreciated by Christians/religionists), and wants answers that cannot be answered by smoke and cheap tithing tricks.

  • No one made any correlation between globalism being any focal point in Dogma whatsoever. Movies appeal all around the Earth, either way. I apologize if you misunderstood me. You need to keep your head on straight if you're going to make it out of this without looking like a crazy religionist. As for offending Muslims, perhaps you should confront him about that; because he had plans to do a movie that poked fun at all of the world's religions.

  • maybe so but who ever heard of a cathlic suicide bomber lmfao end of the day the cathlics take alot more abuse than this film lol... TIP: if cathlic priests stop fucking there alter boys maybe they would get so much attention

  • The Vatican still has an awful lot of valuable art work from various European countries taken somewhere around the late 30s early 40s... for merely one example. The Crusades, the Holocaust... I guess some hold a few grudges against the Catholic Church for no real reason

  • Alright, but even if all of this is true; is it not right that God will have His justice? I am not saying it IS true, I'm saying even if it were, if there was some small poke at the Catholic "faith". As for lawlessness, I have never been arrested and I have never been pulled over. You are a fool who still has the theory of a twelve year old. Faith is akin to WITHOUT PROOF. Most people denounce after they've reached the age of reason, but there are a choice few who just don't get it...

  • Successful troll is successful

  • Yeah, most people don't recognize the name until it's too late. ;)

  • Sorry, but Religion doesn't have a monopoly on morals. Christianity 'the last bulwark of morality in the Western world'? Don't make me laugh. In fact Christianity upholds many immoral and unfair preconceptions.

  • "It is more about taking cheap shots at an organization that is the last bulwark of morality in the Western world."

Don't you think it's a little too late to say something like that? Because you know after these things that happened, you know called the Crusades, Inquisition, religious persecutions, slavery, witchhunts, genocide of native populations, colonialism, inaction against Nazism and then child molestation

  • The Crusades, the Inquisition, religious persecutions...all those things I mentioned, those are historical facts, not a personal indictment of an organization because I hate it. I don't care about hate or any other petty emotions that you seemed so concerned about. I'm not a narrowminded idiot such as you who seems so concerned about feelings.

    So you're argument is meaningless.

  • Like I expected, you have nothing but meaningless verbal drivel. You cannot refute the facts I presented, yet I didn't expect you to. Instead you resort to rhetoric. If that makes you feel better about yourself, be my guest.

  • Dogma is just a comedy. At the expense of religion, yes, but it is not about "skewering the Catholic church".

If you feel otherwise that is your problem. You are doing a poor job of convincing us. Not us, but YOU lack the the 'collective series of statements' and the 'logic' to prove your point.

If, instead, you just want to provide us with entertainment by making a fool out of yourself then you are doing a great job. :P

  • You speak of denial, being pathetic, dimwitted, and "blindness of rage". Yet this little exploitation of your "argumentative talents", if your mindless words even merit being considered "talent", significantly proves that you yourself are pathetic and dimwitted. IF you're trying to sound like the more logical and intellectual of everyone on the world of YouTube then you would have kept your senseless babble to a minimum. As for rage I do believe "Too fucking bad" and "knock yourself out" is rage

  • this movie was ment to entertain iknow catholics that have watched movie and couldnt stop laughing so you cant agzactly say that it offends anybody. besides if you cant take a joke then dont say anything

  • Only Catholics who have decades of history that is tattered with persecution, murder, rape, torture, and slavery, get offended when people mock their religion. If you had any confidence in your faith youd be able to have a sense of humor about it. But the fact is, your faith waivers, and you're a bad Catholic, and you don't really believe; so when someone points that out, you get hyper defensive about it. In the same way homophobics lash out against gays, while fighting homosexual tendencies.

  • You may possibly be the most deluded person on youtube, and that's saying something. You're probably the kind of person that doesn't believe the holocaust ever happened. Instead of being so quick to past judgment on everyone but yourself, maybe you should work on your own self worth. I'm getting a lot of insecurity from you. For fact, I don't do drugs, I paid attention in school, and a real school, not a mind warp camp for empty drones.

  • You strike me as the sort of person who wouldn't like the Monty Python film Life Of Brian.

    BLASPHEMY!!! And such.

  • ...and as another FACT, my family is Catholic. I've gone to a Catholic hospital my entire life. When my grandmother died of cancer, they extremely impersonally and rude about the entire experience. The priest felt put out that he had to come up and give her last rights. Her funeral was propaganda for why you should be catholic, not an ode to her life, which was amazing; but largely ignored by the church (though she never missed a service in 75 years). So I know what I'm talking about.

  • No you don't. You are a hateful, malevolent, mentally syphillitic societal parasite who is laying blame on everyone else for his problems (which are many, no doubt) other than himself. I recant my suggestion that you seek immediate mediacl attention. You are too far gone...your soul is way too poisoned with hatred...for any human effort to salvage. Although you may be Catholic by birth, you have clearly devolved into a loathesome, contemptible sack of human offal without a scintilla of worth.

  • Schwarznasen looks like the averange christian dude, full of love...

  • hahaha. He just yelled at me for being Catholic and liking the movie, saying i have a deep rooted hatred for the Church. uhm, no, i just am able to accept pure comic genius when I see it. He gives a bad name to all Catholics, making us all seem insane.

  • Wow, I think it's funny how you say such horrible things to a person you don't even know. What happened to "Judge not and be not Judged" or "Love thy neighbour"?!?

    tut tut tut.

Oh the hypocrisy of religious extremists never ceases to amuse me. Though I must compliment you on your vocabulary.

  • Judge me as well, mighty Schwarznasen! For I fear that I am not worthy!

  • Aha! I feel whole now! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!! Yet still meaningless, apparently.

    : )

  • Good luck in prison.

  • you sir, need to relax. It's just a movie. It's not telling anyone to go burn a cross. You are taking it way to seriously. Oh and by the way, I do have a thorough knowledge of the Church, both of it's incredible work and shortcomings. So don't even attempt to talk down to me.

You should stop wasting your time yelling at the "anti-Catholics" here, and go do some actual good works, because you are getting no where here.

You give Catholics a bad (and crazy) name.

  • While you may have a (self-professed) "thourough knowledge" of the incredible work and shortcomings of the Catholic church, it is clear that you neither possess understanding of its principles nor appreciate its solemn goals and objectives. Everyone knows the power that film has on the human psyche. The entire industry has prospered based upon its ability to draw the audience into its belief system. Much of the entertainment value of film is derived from the suspension of belief for a few hours

  • As such, fil,ms leave a lasting impression on the human mind. It is a powerful medium. Most people neither question the images they see nor do they challenge the ideas expressed. Film is a very persuasive medium that can ennoble and inspire through the telling of truth, or debase and degrade through the promulgation of lies and hatred. "It's just a film" is a way of minimizing the true impact and meaning a film just might be attempting to portray. By syaing this, you reveal your own discomfort.

  • O I wouldn't say he has a huge ego. He's pretty funny, to a large group of people at least, and he knows it. He also talks about being lazy and a fatass. What he is good at is being funny and hes a pretty good talker. Dogma wasn't made to damage religion, i personally think he address religion in a way different from most religious films. I also believe movies mean different things to different people, you know, certain parts or ideas stick with some forever while others slide off.

  • I guess what im saying to those that love or hate (Schwarznasen) is that its different for everyone. You can try to make someone see it the way "you" do but maybe they never could. Their experiences and genetics make can make it a completely different experience. Film can be a powerful medium (ex. Triumph of the Will) but it is becoming older and more common. People don't believe everything they see on screen anymore. Shouldn't the warning at the beginning let them know not to start...

  • drastically changing their, most often lifelong held, beliefs because of a movie with a poop monster in it. And the people that would do this without thinking it over a lot or talking to friends and family about their doubts are the same that buy extenze and other late night infomercial shit. I agree with you to some degree but think you need to open up just a little bit. Damn it i can't believe I got sucked into an online argument again. Most times I delete the arguments I made, but fuck it

  • thanks for leaving your string of philosophical dogshit on 18 pages of this video. reading said dogshit clearly being the reason we all visited this page.

  • Yes, everyone is just a dung beetle dwelling and owing their very existences to excrement. Do you happen to provide yourself even the most precursory proofreading of this bullshit, or do you just get liquored up, type up a bunch of nonsense and pass that off as the best you'll ever have? It's disgusting to think there are people like yourself who perceive the 'psychotic' as the majority opinion that disagrees with every nonsensical word you have to say.Yeah, it's everyone else's problem. Idiot.

  • I don't think in all my years on the internet, I have seen a hipster so desperate to engrave his excruciatingly painful poindexter rendition into the minds of so many- and for so useless a reason.

The portrait you so pitifully attempt to convey with your condescending expulsions remains but a few feet above the very ground your unreasonable standards spit on; a man graced with even a fraction of the decency you think you have would certainly find more legitimate stomping grounds than youtube.
