Those are meant to provoke and incite violence, something Fox does rather well. MSNBC doesn't get high ratings because it is on cable, and the analysis is too overly intellectual for mainstream America. FOX dumbs down everything into easily identifiable soundbites and repeat ad nauseum.

@alienbrothers If Obama were in office we would have used the billions of dollars used to fund Iraq war to secure the American homeland. Increase funding to homeland security. Hire more agents at the border, where we are outmanned and face equal firepower in terms of weaponry. Deploy more counterterrorism squads and train local PD to deal with terrorism at local levels (water supply etc.) All this critical money to improve security infrastructure was squandered in the Iraq War.

According to a nyt article, he's employed agents to scan the payroll of employers suspected of hiring illegal aliens, and then demanding they be fired and that the employers pay a fine. For every big wall, there is always a bigger ladder. Take away the economic incentives, and illegal immigration will dry up as well. His approach saves money, time, and is more cost effective.

Apparently you didn't read the book. Not two consecutive chapters, much less a single chapter, are dedicated to 9/11. It's all about America and past decisions and history, mostly pre-1990s.

MSNBC doesn't get high ratings because it is on cable, and the analysis is too overly intellectual for mainstream America. But just to say if I were to become president I would make a rule making Congress an even split House. The same amount of Dems and Reps though I know there would much much debate on issues and laws but hopefully that will get everyone to collaborate more and make less bipartisan decsions and doing what is right and the truth not just for the glory of the party.

@porsche187 Compared to back when GWB was in office I never watched the news too much then but Bush wasn't the strongest president but at least he had a chart of morals and was able to tackle challenges on his agenda and actually do SOMETHING other than play golf! Oh and they killed off Bush is because he's old news and has been pretty quiet. Plus I'm sure they will be talking about Obama for a LONG time! Plus the next president is going to have to clean up the bigger mess.

Republicans failed to vote up or down on two judicial nominations before the close of session. I think, if anything, he is trying to play too nice! He was given a clear mandate in november for change-he should vigorously prosecute that agenda over GOP complaints!

However, the Govt. could only fund one or two "experimental" when we know that they have worked to stop narcotics, bombmaking materials etc. This was under Bush's watch. Secure the homeland first. That would be Obama's priority. Not prosecuting his father's war.

China buys our debt (mostly incurred from the costs of occupation) like none other, several billions worth, and who knows what political favors they will leverage in the future as they hold this critical trump card, which GWB essentially gave them due to his "doctrine" or pre-emtive war.

I do know, however, that Obama has helped to strengthen the US vigilance against terrorism, taking measures I personally dont approve of (such as keeping the patriot act and expanding to include internet espionage). So to say that he isn't tough on terror doesn't hold water with me. There have been some terrorist plots foiled, such as in NJ. Napolitano was at the anniversary as a rep. of the administration

It served to create negative will, and killed any sort of dialogue we could have had with those countries and avoided war. Bush's cowboy diplomacy and unilateralism created a lot of ill will throughout the world toward's the USA and dimmed the US stature on the world stage. N. Korea resisted the 6 party talks until the end of the Bush administration due to Bush labeling it a rogue state and member of axis of evil.

@alienbrothers If Obama were in office we would have used the billions of dollars used to fund Iraq war to secure the American homeland. Increase funding to homeland security. Hire more agents at the border, where we are outmanned and face equal firepower in terms of weaponry. Deploy more counterterrorism squads and train local PD to deal with terrorism at local levels (water supply etc.) All this critical money to improve security infrastructure was squandered in the Iraq War.

@alienbrothers Obama is hardly soft on illegal immigration, much tougher than the showmanship Bush era. According to a nyt article, he's employed agents to scan the payroll of employers suspected of hiring illegal aliens, and then demanding they be fired and that the employers pay a fine. For every big wall, there is always a bigger ladder. Take away the economic incentives, and illegal immigration will dry up as well. His approach saves money, time, and is more cost effective.

Nevertheless, Glenn makes good arguments and backs them with real facts. He blew me away with a recent report about how Pres. Harding revived a bad economy created by progressive Pres.
