  • I like storm chasing. When I was 11, my mom had 2 carpool 4 my brothers school. It was a half an hour drive. I live in the lightning capital of the world, so it isn't hard to go look for the lightning. On exactly May 12th, 2009, I had gone to look for lightning. I din't see much to his school, but on the way back, i had the 2nd most lightning I have ever seen. It intrigued me of how much lightning was there. So technically, I've been storm chasing since I was 11.

  • Wow! That's the first rotating updraft timelapse vid I have seen from the southern hemisphere! It's like watching a mirror image of one of our storms. Cool!

  • Look right to me ! but than again I am in Australia.

  • Great video! 5 stars!

  • was that a funnel near the end?

  • hi,nice storm video!

  • No, but most supercells in the northern hemisphere rotate counter clockwise. This storm is rotating as would be expected in the southern hemisphere. Footage of a cyclonic clockwise rotating supercell not very common.

  • do clocks rotate the wrong way in the southern hemisphere?

  • @guitarkilla The reason being , I think, is due to the tilt of the planet causing the winds on the Northern hemisphere to blow right, and vice versa.
