In part 3 there is a secret Marauder program which allowes to user to use big robots which can easily kill over 100 arachnids and if they would use tanks they would mostly get get overrun and torn appart.

Another reason is because the MI (Mobile Infantry) Takes all the hits of the army.

@3089280288 mobile infantry is exactly that. mobile. tanks can't move properly and would get swarmed. the jets apparently kept getting rammed in suicide attacks by the flying bugs. but i don't get why they didnt have walkers. walkers are perfect. they move well, they have better firepower/armour. meh, guess it makes the battles more personal.

This movie still uses cinematic camera. the scenes are still filtered. the cg and effects are crap but are still CG, stuff still gets blown up (crapily, but hey), they have access to pully systems and other stuff for stunts. AND they have hot chicks. Solid "B" movie. Full of awesome. if you can do better, then do so and post it up

looks like they didn't have a big enough budget =P that bit more would beef up the CGI, the cast, script and props (which look cheap especially the guns). plenty of films are made on low bugets and turn out good because money is put where it's needed, a film full of CGI that turns out poor just ruins a film because that;s all you concentrate on. Starship troopers was kick ass, second was shite, 3 was ok but with a fan base there they can afford to get enough backing, let down =P

Hi all, Ive just watched this on dvd and Ive got a few things to say. Apart from all the cheesy quotes, some shitty acting, the religious crap and that gay singing sky bender it was pretty good and the animation is alot better than people make out. What i don't get is that the first movie did great and its a great movie so why didn't they get all the same guys back who made that, give it a big budget and give it a theatrical release cause it sure as hell deserves it after the 1st.
