  • @aikidojoe1 Pretty good lad. Pretty darn good.

  • Hi Fo Great Video, Im working on adding to my kits its videos like this that make it much easyer to jump into better brewing, thank you, Cheers, Mark

  • lol nice rambo shot with the hops dude lol cool

  • @aikidojoe1 Thanks man! lol

  • really looking forward to see how it turned out

  • Great experiment. Looking forward to the comparison.

  • @threeque Thanks!

  • Enjoyed the video... nice job! Can't wait to see your AG videos coming up! Are you planning on doing your AG brews on the stove-top?

  • @theophancecily Thank you! Yes thats the plan. Stove top is what I want. With the wind chill its about -20 outside today. Call me a wimp if you want but I don't wanna stand outside in my backyard and watch wort boil while freezing to death. I'd rather do it in my warm kitchen where I can step out of the kitchen and watch some TV during the boil.

  • @weirdbeer Believe me, next time I have to replace my stove I'll buy one with this in mind.

  • i thaught the name edwort looked familliar !!! is your name on homebrew talk weird beer also?

  • @TheBrewHowTo I'm Beer-Baron on there

  • this is actually a pretty advanced method utilizing extracts and should be a fine tasting beer

  • Great video Fo!! Keep up the good work!

  • Nice... I didn't know you were a fellow HBT member!

  • Looks good! That is a great recipe! I have made it twice the all grain way. are you going to do side by side review?

  • @dstorm258 Thats the plan!!

  • That is looking good Fo!

    Cheers!

  • Nice video. Looks like a super beer. Can't wait for the comparison taste test. I'm betting on the extract beer being slightly better. Waiting.................

  • @faroutadventures What makes you think the extract batch will be better?

  • @weirdbeer Fo, just thinking of my past experience with all grain. My partial mash with extracts turned out better tasting. I don't really know, I'm just guessing. But, my theory is that Coopers have refined their LME commercially into a great tasting product. There are a lot of variables when it comes to all grain. I'm sure they will both turn out good.

  • I like that giant filter bag you are using. I use several smaller hop bags and sometimes they are a pain when I'm doing a IPA where I'll be adding hops all through the boil.

  • @sjporr Its a 5 gallon paint strainer. Picked it up for $2 at a paint shop. Fits into the primary bucket perfectly and even has an elastic band to hold it on. Paint strainer goes into bucket, dump the whole boil kettle through it and out come the hops!!

  • Yeah, brew in kg! Its the superior form of measurements for a reason.

  • Great vid man, you ripped open that bag of hops using your teeth, with some serious bravado!

  • @omegahpla haha. Thanks!

  • That's a great kitchen setup you have going. I'm almost set to go all grain. I just need to build up may manifold (I have all the parts for it).

For my last batch I did all grain doing the "brew in a bag" method and it turned out great.

  • @StumpyJoeJr Thanks. I'm trying to be kitchen only. 6 months of the year here I just couldn't brew otherwise.

  • You do know that was 5 oz of Crystal 10 on the scale and not .5 lb. Outside of that it looks like you got it down.

  • @yartp Uhhhh . . . Ooops?!?! Lol!

Thats what I get for trying to make a video for you Americans instead of using my native Kilograms. Haha! Thanks for letting me know. I'd probably have kept making that mistake forever. Next time I'm working in Kilos! I'll fix it for when I do the all grain version! Would you review one of these beers if I sent it to you PT?

  • @weirdbeer Yeah, the US system always buggers me up; I only use metric. Grams, Kilograms, Litres, etc. I even set BeerSmith to metric (been messing around with recipes for partial extract batches). Nice video!

  • @PeiHomeBrewer Yeah I'm switching to metric now for obvious reasons. Looks like I'm about 100 Grams short on the Crystal Malt. I can't really see it making a big difference. It will probably be a little bit lighter in color. I guess we'll find out.

  • @weirdbeer We Americans started the homebrewing movement. The least you could do is show us some respect and correctly use standard weights and measurements when you brew. HeHe!
