Hey, funny! Good work! It`s not easy to get this sound today. Their hair are a bit uncool, but hey, they love The Sonics and you can hear it! They got energy and this is the point! Twang cheers from Germany, Ralf Kilauea
Oh calm down Record Guy and not Musician Guy. Why can't you just enjoy a really cool band carrying on a grand tradition? Do you own a time machine? If so, then I guess you can afford to be so picky
actually if you check out the cavestomp videos on youtube of the sonics in '07, it looks like *they* have a time machine, so the real thing remains better...
No match for the real sonics, but they do at least an comparable good version of the legendary witch as the Fuzztones have done, even a lttle more aggressive than Rudi's done....
Well if that's him I sure have to agree, but what I mean is that from what I can see these guys don't look anywhere near that old to me. Is it Jerry with a new band?
Yea, that makes sense. There has always been a big cult for garage and alternative rock in France. These guys really sound good and play the songs like they oughta be played. So many bands that cover this stuff just seem to think 'There's only 3 chords so if we play and sing badly it'll still sound good.' Wrong!
the MIGHTY SONICS!!!! ICAN"T believe it they playing at Warsaw 2nd November in NYC....gotta get the tickets pure LYSERGIC acid melting the walls psychedelic garage punk this is rock'n'roll baby WYLD WYLD WYLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was GREAT seeing these very same bands playing the local YMCAs and our local high schools (Aberdeen and Hoquiam Washington). Whenever any of these bands came to town, EVERYONE went to see them. The "cool thing" to do back then (believe it or not) was to wear a painted Army helmet at the dances! Sounds funny but that's what we did here in the PNW back then! When not at a dance we'd put the helmets in our car's BACK WINDOW to show them off for the next dance!
Lenny: One of the members of the KIngsmen (Don Gallucci) eventually formed his own band in Portland, OR called "Don & The Gootimes". Several of their songs made it into the top 40 in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up near Seattle and remember all the bands listed below. These bands played all the local YMCA's and High School dances (the ones who could afford them) back then.....INCLUDING Paul Rever and the Raider "KJR" Seattle and "KJRB" Spokane played their music ALL the time.
Lenny: I was listening to Olympia radio station KGHO today and they played The Sonics "The Witch". I hadn't heard that song on ANY radio station since the mid '60s! The Sonics used to play all over the Pacific Northwest back then, along with the Wailers, Beachcombers, Viceroys, Ventures, Don & The Goodtimes and even Paul Revere and the Raiders.......ALL well known PNW Garage Bands.
It's a great version! Singer is a doing a great f***** job!! well done! A nice tribute to the most underestimated band ever

They, seem to me, to be a precursor to Punk, with a little early My Bloody Valentine, (the noise).
Quality under rated band...

Sorry, I'm lost. They sure sound like The Sonics but the real Sonics would be over 60 years old now. Can anybody explain?

The original Sonics did appear on a syndicated music show from Cleveland called 'Upbeat' probably in 1966. I don't know if the footage exists.

There's nothing more sad than a group seaqarching for selfpromotion... making users loose their time in useless, poor covers of good songs.
Sorry, I really dislike the trick: search for "The Sonics" in youtube and you'll only find this kind of things ;(
