  • Is going to show this to my grandparents!

  • @aljevans FFS don't pretend it's real, you'll give them a heart attack!

  • I think these mock ones are trying to ape the American emergency ones that are like this.

  • I never wanna see this on real TV. Youtube is ok. Liked this vid

  • I hooked this up to my tv and scared my parents to death my mother got under the table!

  • Come on! Even nuclear attack isn't reason enough to interrupt Doctors.

  • since my computer is through my t.v I wonder if I could start this playing as my girlfriend comes down after her night shift for a prank

  • In real life it wouldn't be some weird computerised woman talking - it would be a real person.

  • That was so convincing its frightening! Positively scary! Well done, one of the most compelling videos I have ever watched!

  • Im shitting brix XD

  • this is so dumb, how is this a realistic attempt

  • why would they need to turn off the program? tv would go on as normal, none of this BS

  • @triple6j Yes, it might have been a perfectly good episode of Doctors to go out to instead of being scared beyond the capacity for reasonable thought.

  • that was cool. made me shit my pants and get excited all at the same time......just like sex with my mum, really :)

  • I can think of some epic pranks with this :D . . .

  • As part of a mandatory test protocol, please do not switch to ITV. Thank you for helping us help you help us all.

  • So why all the high pitched shit? All that does is annoy the fuck out of me.

  • This would be a great april fools

  • well Im fucked

  • I assume we do have an emergency broadcast system, it's just secret? I've always wondered what the fuck they'd do if we were being nuked.

  • @itskirstybetchx its called the bbc, a govt propaganda tool alwyas is always will be evidence in the broacasting act and the licence fee people pay.

  • @itskirstybetchx all we could do in that situation is remember all the arobics vids our mums watched in the 80's and draw on that knowledge so we can get our heads inbetween our legs and kiss our asses goodbye :)

  • @metaldogalpha Yeh I guess there's not much point trying to survive a nuclear attack :(

  • very realistic. love it!

  • I have now officially craped myself:(

  • This isn't fake, its what they need to play if it happens...

  • @FlamingTurtleHeadz The uploader made this... O.o

  • Out of all the emergency broadcasts I've ever seen, this has to be the best one

  • Hold on, what if you were watching iTV2 instead?

  • The air raid siren is probably the most fear enduing sound I've ever heard. I mean, given the effectiveness of modern bombs its more of a declaration of an imminent, slow and painfull death than an early warning signal.

  • I'm in the USA ind that scared ME. I'm not even British.

  • Evacuations being carried out in the London area? That'll be the MP's and members of the Royal Family then. We'll be left to work on our atom tans.

And speaking of evacuation, that's exactly what I did when the sirens went off.

  • owww, amagine the people who wanted to watch that program, they would just switched over to itv to see if its on there, lol

  • Shouldn't this be more to the point? You need to get the message out in thirty seconds, or less.

  • talk about modern warfare 3 cause it fits in well

  • @partycrasher001 You're joking right? Oh wait, you're a kid.

  • STV equivelent:

"And later we will have an interview with MSP Alex Salmond on his opinions on England's recent removal of nuclear weapons from the Faslane naval base and surrounding areas. Now on to Jackie with the weather"

  • I would crap myself if that came out for the USA

  • If this actually happened while watching something like sponge bob I would probably shit my pants.

  • I'd take a nuclear war if it meant taking Doctors off the air.

  • Oh no im blown up

  • Had my head phones in scary as out

  • i wish anonymous would hack the bbc and play this

  • I just put this on my tv and my mum was shitting bricks

  • @TheFanta913 You just reduced your mother's life expectancy by a few days. Well done. What other tricks can you do?

  • Creepy and very realistic.

  • Well, That's okay, I wasn't planning on sleeping tonight.

  • FAKE

  • Seriously, seriously, scary. When it cut to "Attack Warning Red" I actually felt myself clam up in sheer fear.

  • Very good. Most realistic one I've seen.

  • STV equivilent.

"Scotland blames England for Nuclear attack"

  • @madstanwan True true. BBC Glasgow (I refuse to call it BBC Scotland because it really isn't) would stick the boot in too, with shots of Darth Salmond talking bollocks at Holyrood.

  • Right, stay in your homes... as if you have any chance of surviving.... at that point i would grab a gun stick it into my mouth and pull the trigger, I dont care to survive in nuclear fallout, what is there to live for?

  • the BBC made a film called THREADS based on the aftermath of a Nuclear attack during the 80's you will find it on Google video!!! it was also banned by Government at the time :)))

  • This country has already been invaded/attacked by the huge influx of illegal imigrants.

  • Very realistic and scary, well done.

  • Try mine on my channel. you don't really play the siren as part of the TV waring do you?

  • the pronunciation of london isnt right your saying it like... londan

  • is this a coincident that the video was posted on September 11?

  • the sirens at the end arent around anymore, you would get a txt message instead i am told lol. I find that horrible. I want those carter sirens reinstalled!

  • @azz16901 There are a few of those old sirens still around and working in a town in wiltshire where i used to live.

  • @DJPaulgee1 id imagine they are run by the environment agency for floods, id love to get my hands on one of them.

  • @azz16901 You could be right here. I know that the local council actually own them. The town in question was well known for it's railway works up until the mid eighties and the sirens were used for the workers. Since then, they have been regularly tested by the owners, posssibly the environment agency like you saud.

  • creepy! well if any of it gets used by the BBC for real you'll be the one to greet the news with a chuckle and a nod. -.-

  • O no, what about runescape

  • Air raid sirens scare me so much! haha

  • @MrNSheikh

i get scared when i hear the storm warning beep

  • Brilliant! I've been trying to find a more realistic one of these for a while now, many thanks!

  • That beeeeeep has fucked up my ears LOL !!!!;).

  • Sorry, I misspelled the word "Normal!" As I said, the "normal programming has been suspended" notice was lifted from their coverage of Princess Diana's death.

  • And of course, the nromal programming's been suspended was lifted from their coverage of Princess Diana's death.

  • @pookerville I could be wrong, but I think that was the only time the BBC have actually used that line. Nevertheless I thought it was appropriate for this video

  • What TTS did you use on this?! It was amazingly realistic! Good job!

  • @jay5embee I used IVONA Text to Speech (I think the voice was Amy UK). Unfortunately you have to pay for it, but you can get a trail version.

  • This is BBC Television from London. Normal programming has been suspended. Say, what kind of a game is this anyway? Oh, here it comes...
