The rail isn't 'bent' into place, its a vee shaped section of rail that swivels into place, eliminating the gap from normal frogs. Wear is actually considerably less than a fixed frog as the wheels are supported consistently on a swingnose.

@tross265 - I think he means the closure rail, not the swing nose assembly.

When it started I thought the cameraman was standing on the tracks!! LOL
It just gets pushed into place.
does it really bend the metal? or does it just push it into place
