@TheZetReviewer ok my issue is the money. im debating between the 13 inch vs the 15 inch. with the 13 inch i could buy 500gb ssd while in the 15 i couldnt because would be too expensive but the 5 has amd gaming card of 1gb. the 15 inch has 2.4 while the 13" has 2.8ghz. would it be worth it to buy the 13 and missing the amd graphing card? can you still play games as same as the 15? does the 2.8ghz makes a difference? which one shouldi get im confused plz reply!
Good video. I am thinking of getting a Mac but a very old one for about 60-100 bucks and maybe just up grading it? Is it at all worth it??? Only need it for school for typing papers, and watching videos on YouTube and on hulu.com
@TheZetReviewer makes sense. but i bought the MBP already wiped wit a normal ram and hdd, the is no data on it when i got it, if i just want to do the switch do i do wat u do in the video just not use superduper.
Did you say that the "enclosure" the SSD came in, will now take your Mac's HD and make it work as an external drive? 1:20 Do you have a link to this product and/or description of how that works?
Great video especially liked the graphs at the end.
I would like to know how the battery life has held up after the upgrade. With your massive performance improvements are you sacrificing battery life???
I'm waiting for my Mac Book Pro :) Will make a video later. Mine is $3100 everything maximum. 15 inch. Can anyone tell me why not to buy SSD drive directly from Apple? I did.
@TheZetReviewer What makes you think so? I paid $100 extra to upgrade it from 500GB 7200RPM HDD (which costs around $80 on Amazon. The total cost came out less than $200 for 128GB SSD that worth of $240 on the market.
@TheZetReviewer AND, don't forget that you already paid for HDD and now have to lose money OR time, if you deside to sell it. So you ended up paying even more.
@VIPLeague Yeah, in this upgrade that I did I got an SSD and an external hard drive, using the enclosure that came with the SSD for housing the HDD that came with the macbook :))
Is that a 2.5" SSD replacement? The Kingston 256GB SSD is quite pricey. I got 256GB of Apple SSD in my 2010 MBP but thinking about swapping it over to the 2011 model and then just selling my 2010 model. Cheers for the vid, helped a lot.
@TheZetReviewer Cheers. I kept seeing 1.8" models which confused me. I must have a 2.5" Apple model in my current MBP and was just wondering if it could be swapped to the new 2011 model? I'm sure it can? Definitely going to put the 500GB HDD from the new 2011 model in my 2010 model to resell it.
@TheA7md2009 in my iPod classic 4th generation there was also a HDD from toshiba, and when i took a macintosh powerbook laptop apart the LCD was from samsung and the HDD was from toshiba
You can also use a datadoubler, which allows you to remove the superdrive and replace it with a box of the same size. You put your hard drive into the box and hook it all up, and voila, 2 hard drives in one macbook pro!
Great video, I have a question about demagnetizing. In so many videos, people stress the importance of demagnetizing yourself and the macbook pro before opening it up. Why did you not do this? Also what is demagnetizing, and what does it prevent?
@daviddalziel I did mention that you should ground yourself to discharge static electricity from your body.
Your body often has a small electrical charge running trough it and when you touch a big piece of metal or a person you will get a little electrical shock. If you don't ground yourself you could pass the current to the components inside the computer and that will very easily destroy or "fry" the component.
i didn't know you are a mac user? Wait kingston send you the stuff to review! Did you get to keep it? its an expensive SSD so thats really cool if they did.

@98kawasakikx250 if you want the stuff on the old hard drive on the SSD then you need to clone the data with super duper

@jimmyh2o Yes it works as an external drive. It's very simple, you just put the hard drive in the enclosure and connect it. :)
