Not necessarily, if it had a anti-blocking differential, the tires not in contact with the ground wouldn't spin... I think BMW xDrive is exactly that.

A mini 4X4 isn't the weirdest thing i've seen. So read a little before you talk.

well it seems new 4x4s are getting less and less suspension travel and relying on traction control and fancy differentials. they don't work if its too slippery

yah the engine is buildable to 300 easy, the wrc limit. you can buy a kit for 4000 that puts you at 350. then convert to ethanol, (105+ octane)and bore it over with some ti valvtrain parts,and other stuff, and hitting 400 would be withing reach.
