I feel sympathetic for Kathryn. All her life, she has had a skewed view of the world, mostly in part to her father. All she has sought is love and her only vision of that was one of feminism and masculinity. Once she dates Chris, she realizes that she was wrong and relationships aren't as simple as that. If Anthony had given her the chance, I'm not sure if she would have lost what was left of her sanity. Her sniffling in this scene after being humiliated and her last line "Love Me" is powerful.
