Anyone wishing to purchase this version can find it on the Naxos label coupled with Symphony No.00, conducted by Georg Tintner. It is quite different from the 1874 version. I suspect that it may date from 1878. Anybody have any idea when this version was written?
remarkable. I have loved bruckner for 25 years but only discovered that there were alternate versions to the finale of the 4th a few months ago, (I thought that the 4th had escaped B's mania for revision)

@Strefanash Thanks for your comment: reason, although bad reason, had Brahms when said about the great Bruckner: "That maniac of the symphony...".
