  • i know this one we can skip it!! talented and funny!!!!! :)

  • Thankyou pandora for letting me find this amazing artist

  • This song is my new obsession

  • I love this song but am I the only one who thinks he's rude at the end?

  • @TiggerRah nooo He's not trying to be rude he is being sarcastically funny! haha

  • can you upload food chain

  • I love this song! me and my friend just covered an eric hutchinson song, please check it out!!!!

  • I LOVE this song and I agree he is VERY talented with his song writing and he has a nice voice, just wish he had better vocal control. If Jason Mraz sang this there's a possibility that it could be one of my new favorite songs.

  • @riggiocrspagirl your crazy its the imperfections in his voice that make it so great. just image a place where everything is perfect and wonderful all the time... now try to image a place more boring

  • @nokorruption literally thought the same exact thing about Demitri Martin.

  • is it me or is he the second coming of Billy Joel?

  • @2282steven yes and no. They both have AMAZING songs but billy joel is a legend and has an incredible voice. Eric is great too just not as mature in his voice yet. if ya know what I mean? Both GREAT artists though.

  • Why does this guy not have a freaking contract!!!! I need him to get a contract so my friends who are stuck in main stream music dont think im crazy.. I just found this guy randomly but holy crap hes talented!! hope the best for him!! the ending is great!!!!!

  • cool

  • This version of Outside Villanova I think is best... I honestly love the piano much more than his funky sound effects he adds to the others.

  • I love this song :D

  • Is it me, or would the offspring of John Mayer, Jason Mraz and Gavin Degraw somehow had a baby...it would be Eric Hutchinson????? And Micheal Jackson was the god father.....

  • @CoraTheGinger Lol, I'm not really sure where you hear John Mayer in his voice or song writing because they are incredibly different.

But anyways, Eric is phenomenal. So much fun to watch too. Saw him in Chicago last year, he's a hell of a performer and has fantastic showmanship.

  • @AcousticCover It's something in the note changing. I dunno, odd I guess. I love this, though.

  • he is one of the most unique

    singer i have heard

  • His voice sounds a little like kenny loggins at times too.

  • nobody had sex with anyone, im sure all these excellent artists jason, james and gavin , theyre are all their own person. as is eric hutchinson so lets just listen to the damn instead of talking about orgy's and i think theyd agree with me , becuase saying tthat an artist sounds like someone else can be offensive.

  • @Nevershoutneverfan95 Actually most artists (MOST) see it as a compliment so just mind your own P's and Q's if people want to make comparisons. This is the internet, not old MTV.

  • 5 people aren't gonna do it again

  • "...continue talking even though I'm starring at you only while I'm playing this song" haha awesome!

  • i've listened to this song at least 100 times in the past 2 days. I listen to this while doing homework or just whenever I'm at my computer. Without it, I would most likely die :D

    Eric Hutchinson \m/

  • love his voice- the lyrics of this song are questionable...

  • this song is really catchy but DEFINITELY about statutory rape. just FYI

  • @kates430 Really? She was only drinking soda!

  • Comment removed

  • what album is this version on. The reason I ask this is because the song before it is all over now and the album has a different order. The cheering and talking is not on the original album. Please help!

  • i just found this dude today .. and I'm already wanting to see him in concert!!

  • The boy is bad!!!!!! He's the man!!!!!

  • what album is this specific song and the rest of his live versions from, and where can i buy it?

  • This is very original and creative! Something the music out there is lacking nowadays.

  • Wow I would die if I were were of the girls he called out.

  • Chris! How you doing? Eric. I know during that song you thought I was staring at you. And I was actually staring at the rude girls behind you.

  • Lemme tell you about Bill...

  • oregon!!! :D i live in oregon :D

  • its eric hutchinson's sound duhhh, nothing else =)

  • @cten07 - actually, as a musician, and after watching Eric, I KNOW he feels the same - that ALL of his songs are either influenced by - or are EXACTLY the SAME as...MANY other 'pop' songs out there - there's only so many chord structures you can create; that's the point Eric makes by playing his 'medley' pieces - showing the 'origins' of his songs....but i TOTALLY agree that he has one DAMN unique voice, musicianship - and is basically a genius in my personal opinion! the guy LOVES his music. :)

  • im picking up a little bit of stevie wonder, michael jackson, and michael buble! its amaziiiiinggg!

  • The sad part about this song is that neither of the purchasable versions of this song are even worth listening to compared to this.

  • @ExiledinElysium i sooo agree with that. Thats when you know someone is really good when their live shows are better than the recording. I so wanna go to a concert!!

  • he is a way better artist than all aforementioned assholes

  • Come to DC please! :)

  • LMAO I love the end where he is talking to the "rude girls"

This is great music. :D Love it.

  • "Yea you know this one" (His quotes before he started)

"I need you guys to start cheering like you know the song when it starts" (when he gave the que.)

  • its a set-up!

  • this is what i call good music! it never gets old

  • a real artist with talent actualy sounds better when they play live and eric huchinson is an example

  • @slimboni123 Not entirely true in my opinion.

  • @slimboni123 i think a good artist still sounds really good live, not better

  • @crazysportsfan123 idk he just sounds better live if you ever saw one of those videos that he dosnt sing through the mike hes actualy better

  • I like how it takes the people until exactly 0:05 to realize what he's playing. <3

  • @CloudStarxXx I think that is because on this was recorded at one of his concerts. On Pandora, it plays a few minutes prior to this song starting on another song. He actually told them all to cheer and pretend that they know the song, because it was a new song to the audience. At first, they cheered too early, so apparently he was going to give them a head cue. That's why he sounds so sarcastic when he says 'Oh, you know this one!'

  • Hearing his voice, I know he's hot(:

  • @lollipops278 Lol he isss <3

  • hes a modern billy joel mixed with jason mraz and gavin degraw and guess what? i love it!

  • I think I'm addicted to anything by this guy! Absolutely amazingly talented...pure, undilluted talent.

  • Eric Hutchinson is amazing.

Not many people know of him, but the people who do should consider themselves lucky.

    Best Musical Artist Ever!

  • @DisneyTweek19 not ever of all time finally someone who can sing without the voice tweek and when lyrics used to matter

  • Does anyone know where can I get this acoustic/live version of "Outside Villanova"?

  • @oking613 Go to his website, go to the online store, scroll down to music, and it is listed as part of the "Sounds Like This Live 2 Digital EP"

    :-)

  • So not only is this guy a fantastic artist, he can actually sing which makes him SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than so many other artists out there. Such fantastic music.

  • eric hutchinson is so... ah this man is just extraordinary!

  • LOL. i love him.

  • Finally a guy who doesn't care about making it in the big city. Just chillin' out with piano or guitar.. No band, no studio acquired. Pure music! Go go go! Spread it Eric!

  • wow thanks anyhtingxeverything youve clearly proven he isnt a purebred

  • (: puts me in a good mood

  • If you like Eric Hutchinson, you should check out The City Series, an indie/singer-songwriter band from Minneapolis. Their MySpace url is thecityseries, or check out their Facebook page.

  • this is niceeee <3 love it :D

  • I love his style and voice, he is really unique

  • yes exaclty!!

  • Not Mraz at all...Sounds like Douglas James.

  • no jason mraz at all

  • love love love love him.

  • kind of reminds me of jason mraz....

  • Love it

  • MJ? Mraz+DeGraw? I'm thinkin' Billy Joel all the way through, too.

At least he didn't spoil the song by stopping to fuss.

    Jus' sayin.

  • it looks like a aligator in the background

  • yeh if you kind of squint! thats awesome!

  • @ctkpink12

    that's pareidolia for you!

  • ha yeah, im hearing a little mj in here

  • Comment removed

  • i thought exactly the same about the thingh with michael jackson! =D

but i love his voice..especially the higher tones

  • hes got a lot of hall and oates in him too. fantastic.

  • if gavin degraw, jason mraz, and james morrison had a threesome that resulted in a talented little bastard eric hutchinson would be him.

also a little random, but is anyone else hearing a little michael jackson in this dude in this song?

  • haha, totally agree!!

  • @anythingxevrything

He actually did a duet on an MJ song while he was touring with Kelly Clarkson

  • @anythingxevrything is cause he likes to mix his soul side like mj and stevie with his acoustic funk :) i definately do x

  • @anythingxevrything def hearing the michael jackson

  • @anythingxevrything i thought the same exact thing when i first heard him about him having sounding a little like MJ.

  • @anythingxevrything where have i heard that before?

  • @anythingxevrything I never heard the MJ before, but it's there. I tend to hear Stevie Wonder.

  • @anythingxevrything and brett dennon =]

  • @anythingxevrything Yeah, I hear the MJ in the "get up" how he says it fast

  • Comment removed

  • dude has some soul.

  • @anythingxevrything yeah the high notes with the trills are reminiscent of MJ

  • @anythingxevrything

I could see that, but listening to his banter with the audience I would say he's got a little demetri martin in him too, which is awesome.

  • @anythingxevrything couldn't have said it better my self

  • @anythingxevrything

My friends and I said something like this......This dude is Amazing!

  • he sounds so good live! his voice is awesomical=D

  • does this song have to do with Villanova University?

  • bit at the end funny as.

  • it is all planned in the begging he tells them what is going to happen... no one knows the song there but he tells them to cheer with a head que.

  • lmfao

  • yes gavin degraws voice and jason maraz`s vibe and sound :) love it

  • Of course he has his own sound, but I think he reminds me of Jason Mraz's and Gavin DeGraw's lovechild... Just sayin'.

  • Comment removed

  • this is seriously my favorite song eveer

  • this is the second time i've seen a video where eric has made some comment to the audience about not talking while he plays. Really? If they paid to come see his show, he really doesn't have any right to tell them how to enjoy it. And if they didn't pay, he definitely has no grounds to say anything. Clearly most people in the audience enjoy his music, and judging by this great recording, their talking was not all that loud and didn't distract from his great playing. Don't be a dick fool.

  • obviously if he was recording it he didn't want people shouting random things to be on the recording.

  • Comment removed

  • hes fuckin with em

  • @dmillz5

dude he was just joking, and chilling with the crowd.

its just the way he acts, no meaness intended by eric

  • where can i get this version??!?!

  • I agree with sockrokr2. Mraz is amazing, and I will ALWAYS remain totally loyal to him- he's my favourite artist and that will never change.

But Eric is still really great, and he puts me in a good mood (just like Jason Mraz does).

    Love 'em both! :)

  • this is the best version of this song.

  • I completely agree.

  • I love u Eric ur great all ur songs but i love this one its about him getting with a 17 yr old girl nice lol i will ur 20 yr old girl lol ilove u !!!!! keep rockin it baby

  • My names eric too!! just sharing :D

  • lol i luv ur comment!! its so random!! =D

  • love his music, and he's funny!

  • mmm eric hutchinson... i love all your music :]

  • i never get tired of listening to him.

    :)

  • oh my god. he is so amazing! i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE him so much!!!

  • Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson with a lil more spunk. Thats what he reminds me of

  • yahhh!

  • i agree definitely.

and he's just as talented too.

  • I'd be willing to wager he's even a little more talented then some of Jason and Jack's stuff... I can listen to all of Eric's songs over and over... which I certainly cant do with Jason or Jack's music

  • eric uses musical complexity that trained musicians can really appreciate, and still sounds catchy and can appeal to almost anyone. neither jack johnson or jason mraz can say that.

  • thats weird cuz i thought hes kinda like them

  • I love Eric Hutchinson, but I like Jason Mraz more.

    I'm sorry, I just do.

Some of Jason's music is way more simple musically, but look how much MORE music he has created? Waaay more.

And Jason's voice is a little better. Not Much. But Jason's falsetto totally kills Eric's. Listen to Mr. Curiosity. He's the one that does the lady's opera voice. I'm not joking either.

  • hmm, i agree with pretty much you've said. i do think jason does have a better voice; it's debatable, but i think most people would side with jason.

he definitely has more music, but quantity and quality do not necessarily go together.

    however, admit this:

the chord progressions eric uses in even his catchiest songs (i.e. rock and roll) i've never even come across, ever. jason uses the same progressions and stays limited to one key pretty much for an entire song.

    that's all, peace :]

    :]

  • his other song's in the new movie with maya rudolf and that guy from the office :)

  • ahh, i love this guyy =D

  • He reminds me of Jason Mraz :D

    I love Jason Mraz.

  • cool! when we were leaving an eric hutchinson concert i think my friend put it best.. he said, "i like him, he's like jason mraz, just a lot better"

    :))))))

  • shuttup =)

  • i love them both, such true artists xD

  • My favorite song by Him, my second favorite song in general (behind work it out)

  • greatest music everrrrrrrrrr

  • wow, he's got that micheal jackson-like energy going on in his voice. it's really good

  • HAHAH! listen to all over now before this!... the end... hilarious!

  • He reminds me of Jason Mraz with a twist. I like him. ;)

  • I totally love him. he's the best! reminds me of summer and always turns my bad mood around <3

  • i luv his music! hes always really funny in between songs, like at the end when he was talking to those girls

  • love this song!!

grest beat and he has such a great voice.

    I LOVE HIM!!

  • eric hutchinson is the coolest kid ever!!!! :)

  • <3 I love him.. I can't wait to see him in concert
