  • なんだ? ちくしょ. . . Where is the rest of this? Suwanai in a plain, white dress, flawlessly playing Bach's Ciaconna . . . ほぼ天国

  • LIST 1st contest Bach´s Chaconne paga chaiko chaiko 2nd buram moza saras chaiko prokof
  • Ana:This contest is a long period?

Suwa:Yes, it is one month. there were the 1st and the 2nd.

The tune was chosen from among this list.

Ana:The Bach prize was won to you.

Ana:had you a cruel cold for this period?

Suwa:yes,38-degree,but I worked hard and performed.

Ana:Then, let's listen to the tune.

    -----Music

Me:I became tired, it omits it. Hahh my poor english, sorry.

  • @Kleiber2004 Thank you very much for translating!

  • I can't read that poster....

  • Does anybody know if there is a full performance of the Chaconne by Suwanai on YT? That would be incredibly great to hear! She's an extraordinary artist :-))

  • @Bret6464 I like suwanai.I search your spec. But I find LaserDiscVer.It is too old, and has not sold.so,Let's wait for someone to do UP here sooner or later.

  • @Kleiber2004 Sorry,I heard this interview again.

Suwa: Bach is on the way because of Influence of time of contest.

    So This is full performance.

  • @Kleiber2004 Thank you, it will be great when it is uploaded by someone :-)

  • starts at 1:32

  • ZOMG, YES!!!!! CHACONNE IS MY FAVORITEST PIECE EVER FROM MY FAVORITEST COMPOSER!!!!!! I'VE BEEN PRACTICING CHACONNE FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND STILL DON'T HAVE IT 100% PERFECT (although I do have it all memorized pretty much backwards and forwards at this point, lol). I can't play it all the way through without crying at some point right when after it goes back to d minor, I love this piece so much. Bach is a genius.

  • I was very impressed by her bow control and tone. What a talented musician! The bowings differed quite a bit from my Schirmer's version.

  • It is so natural for me. I want the full version.

  • The violins hard to play, but you have to start at a young age, because it takes years to develop skills. But if you're determined, you can start mid way- I started in 6th grade, and got put into advanced classes within 2 months. I guess, over all, it takes passion and determination to play the violin. And like a disease, the love for it never goes away. It's surprising, as her age now (recent videos), that her fingers still work properly. Good job! I wasn't even born yet here XD (1991)

  • Stunning! She plays like an angel. Didn't understand a word she said except for 'yes' though. She said that a lot.

  • Is it Szering's edition?

  • I use the Szeryng edition myself, but I definitely alter the bowings and fingerings significantly, as almost any other violinist likely would. Suwanai's performance doesn't really match Szeryng's markings, but that doesn't prove that she didn't use or consult his edition.

  • This is an amazing performance! One of the best interpretations of this piece I ever heard!

Love the sound of her violin!

  • People who use the name of God to profane another violate the Name. May you truly find our God and not the enemy. Vaya con Dios!

  • God damn you! Lol. I doubt he cares. It's like if someone said "SVIOLINIST DAMN YOU!" why would I care?

  • And thank God for Free Will so that when we profane His name (as I have in the past) and do other things to violate and profane Him, we will only have ourselves to blame. Vaya con Dios in His Name. I love you and there is nothing that you can do about it.

  • Death is going to be a big disappointment for you. Death is going to be a lot more complicated than conforming to one being's standards. "God" can suck my left nut. I am the God of making Gods suck on my nuts. My little nutties!

  • it's crazy that she got a fever (over 100F/38C) when she performed that piece!

  • how do you know she had fever....is that what they say in Japanese???

  • They were talking about what piece she played at the pre-election. Suwanai had a fever over 38度 because of the completely different weather over there. She said that she was dizzy at that time but she got the Bach prize( I don't know how to say in English formally) for that piece she played.

  • And Americans can?

  • Ummmm. your retarted and racist....

  • LOL!! And wherever the fuck you're from their can't understand the English language!

  • i can't see which part of this performance would provoke sexually related perverted comments, yet you seem to have no problem coming up with one. what is your problem? and you name yourself "the sake of god". I'm not religious, but i'm sure if there is a god he wouldn't be so pleased about this.

  • i hate commenters from retard-land!!!!!!! what a racist!!!!! "their" cant understand how ignorant they sound when they say that!!!

  • Well said!

  • Bach's Chaconne... It's got to be my all time favorite song... of all time. Someone described the song as a 'journey' through life where you can feel life, death, happiness and sadness. And more of course. What I really want to be feeling though is her tits she's a rather beautiful violinist.

  • .... Dude. i mean.... just look at your user name... :( thats just not right.

  • ?? Is there a motive to this comment? Does it mean anything? Could you have just kept it to yourself or written it down in your diary and achieved the same amount of personal satisfaction?

  • i was hoping u could use a different user name when u make retarted comments like that. so that answer is yes. there is a motive.

  • The user name has nothing to do with anything related to Bach or Suwanai? There's still no real motive as you haven't stated it? And I do not make 'retarted' comments but perhaps it's because you're retarded?

  • they may not be retarted, but they are are perverted, and when using that name u disgrace the name of god. dont get mad at me for your mistakes.

  • I like that she did mesh some harshness and bitterness in with sweetness. I have always thought Chaconne was a tumultuous bag of feeling and often people leave out the harsh sound that I like. I think playing/interpreting Chaconne is a life long journey for a violinist and it changes along with the path of the player..as time goes by.

  • leaving her tits aside I would love to have heard the D major section which Yehudi Menuhin described as being like the Madonna holding the dead Jesus... but now...getting back to her tits....

  • what tits?

  • now if she was a model or stripper - or something then yeah u can discuss wheather shes fit or not or how big her tits are

but she is a musician -hello people- LISTEN to it

  • from chaccone it came to her titis...so ridiculous!!!!!!!....sick...

  • the mind of man works in mysterious ways...

  • The music is very beautiful indeed. However, I believe comments shouldn't be limited to just the music. The way she looks when she plays the Chaconne is very much a part of the video as the way she sounds. That said, she looks a little old for the Disney princess look.

  • I never saw any discussion about Oistrakh's "tits" in the commentaries--in fact little his said about his appearance or any of the male violinists. She is dressed modestly--she is not inviting commentary regarding her body. IF you have a younger sister or a young lady in your life that you care anything about--can you just for a moment try to consider treating women with the respect you would like women in your family to be treated?

  • this is an awesome rendition of the chaconne

  • It's ridiculous how may viewers find the need to comment on whether female musicians are attractive. I find it very demeaning and completely irrelevant

  • not if you are watching the video

  • @paulcroft1944 , if she were ugly, I can bet you that no one would talk about her looks. She is young and tempting. Every man wants a smart refined woman. She seem very modest and polite, as demurring asian ladies tend to be yet she impresses everyone by her broad toned masculine bowing technique. I wonder who her violin teacher is.

  • @freeqwerqwer Suwanai's teacher was Toshiya Eto, a most excellent and famous violinist in Japan after WWⅡ era, who studied first with Shinichi Suzuki and later with Efrem Zimbalist. According to her autobiography, she thought, deciding to develop her future musician career, there was nobody else in Japan except Prof.Eto with whom she could study the best.

  • @paulcroft1944 yes.....I completely agree.

  • Ok where's the FULL version... oh my I desire it.

  • Its heavy.. BUT!!! I like how she play!!!!!!

O.M.G!!She's really pretty play than any other I saw!!!!

  • She is just absolutely fabulous and wonderful in terms of performance and physical beauty..

  • i prefer laura st. john!

  • Beauty and talent! she has it all. someone very lucky to marry her. I guess she probably gets marry by now.

  • i like her too

  • No gimmicks , no nudity , no histrionics just

pure talent ,hard work and respect for the

composer and the craft.I was lucky to hear

    Akiko Suwanai in Malmö.Glazunov concerto.

Never heard it better.Heartbreakingly beautifulplaying it was.

  • beautiful! her performances are heartrending.

  • Bach's "Chaconne" is very severe and beautiful tune.

Akiko's performance was so fantastic to me.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Bach's Chaconne is as beautiful as Akiko.

  • lol
