Multivortex Tornado in Berkeley County, WV- July 1, 2009

It kinda looks like a micro burst to me but I'm only 11 so I don't know much about that stuff yet and I live I morgantown wv and there has never been a tornado here just severe thunderstorms with 60 mph winds and it's very rare to have a tornado in wv because of the appalachian mountains but my neighbor has been through a f0 or f1 tornado before in like 1960 or 50 something when he was 12 or 13

I live in Morgantown WV iv never seen one tornado just sever thunderstorms so yeah tornadoes can't happen in WV

I live there. We get some tornado warnings but in my lifetime we've only gotten 3 tornado warnings and once there was a real tornado (not one like this puny one) about 2 miles from my house! It caused some damage, but not the worst.

my dad is from West virginia and i have been there a lot! and this is kinda rare i mean considering all the mountains they have but hey just like colorado where i live you would think hey the rocky mountains block it but NO!! Colorado is mostly plains and half of it is part of tornado ally.....

Scud clouds, not a multi-vortex tornado in this video. I do agree there were some small temporary spinups at the beginning of the video.

These weak tornadoes weren't associated with a supercell and so weren't forecast. Neither was the powerful tornado that hit Beaumont, Texas recently.

Other than this, not to my knowledge. The cell got huge after passing into MD. Some hail I think over there.

I don't really see rotation in it. maybe it's a scud bomb.

there was hail in maryland... i live in Maryland next to the wycomico river and i looked out the back window and i saw a big box cloud coming down into the river with a circular moving wall cloud. i looked to the right and all the clouds were dark blue. lol my uncle even got a video of his truck swaying back and forth in the gusty winds. lol 2 days after we had to saw up a tree that fell over lol

It's been amazing to watch the effect North Mountain has on weather in the BW area. Watched many a big cell fizzle at the mountain and a few like this one get started and grow. I watched the La Plata storm hit us as damaging hail as it was picking up strength traveling East.
