The fact is there are a million drummers out there just like Travis. He's fast, but very basic and nothing special. Any # of drummers could easily have been where he is and play just like him. He was in the right place at the right time, nothing more. Much like Keith Moon did he plays fast, wild, and sloppy which is ok for what he's doing but it don't make him a top flight drummer.

Compared to drummers like Buddy Rich or Roy Burns Travis is mediocre at best. Again, he got lucky, that's it!
