  • ROFL @ 4:19 - 4:21 she can make some faces!

  • ok, if you were born WAY after the original movie, and you went to see this at 1 AM with your best friend...and your the only ones on the bottom level at the theater because everyone went to the top (and the top was freakin crowded) then this movie will scare the crap out of you. just sayin. But it's not as scary the 2nd time just because you know whats coming :D My favorite scary movie by far. haha (but im only 16)...oh well.

  • is this movie any good? i LOVED nightmare on elm st back in the 90's, but i heard this movie isnt as good as those and the man who plays freddy isnt freddy anymore.

  • @MysteriousGirlof2011 Its shit. I watched it (regrettably) last night after not wanting to because im a fan of the originals... For the love of carbs, DONT DO IT! >.< I have a right mind to burn my flash stick for having such filth on it.

  • @SamuraiSwoosh

There's no problem in remaking lesser known, unpopular or obscure movies right?

  • freddy krueger is real but he doesnt looks like this

  • The film SUCKED ASS!!! and was weak

  • I agree with you guys on everything except for two things. I enjoyed the original noes movie as well as it's sequels, as a matter of fact I can name some more good sequels than I can remakes. So yeah, I would've preffered a sequel or even prequel of noes than another crappy remake. Also, I hated the theme music in the film, I don't what you guys were doing but I did'nt here the noes theme at all except at the beginning for like 3 or 5 seconds and that was it.

  • 1 2 freddys coming for you

3 4 better lock your door

    5 6 get your crucifix

7 8 gonna stay up late

    9 10 never sleep again

if you go on the website on google at the end of the trailer it sings that song its so creppy

  • I agree I went to see the remake and it sucked loved the original with Robert England!! Remake nothin to do with the original !

  • Funny review guys.

  • @SamuraiSwoosh I disagree. If you were going to make a remake of SUCH a popular movie, with such a popular character, you DONT change his background, as they did in the remake. Also, what I liked about the original was that Freddy was so...mysterious. Freddy, in this movie, talked WAY too much, and said such stupid things. They turned him into a joke. Sigh.

  • yes it was scary because u were kids. The new film is much better than the original. Im sick of people slating the new film because its not as funny or witty as the original. Jackie is a 10 times better freddy than robert was because he is scary, the old freddy u would laugh when he came on screen now. GET A GRIP enjoy the film for what it is.

  • i love the capitol records shirt dude!! haha great review!

  • I just want to add Heather Langenkamp was the original nancy.. she did great. Also Check out nighmare on elmstrett part 3. which was way more interesting and gory than this new remake.

  • yeah This was a huge dissapointment. I love the series. And I missed robert englund. He was the BEST as freddy. he WAS freddy u know? I tried to give this a shot. It wasnt scarey. too predictable. No real gore.. no sex, they copied alot from the 1st. the actors were BORING. Nancy sucked! I missed the orignal nancy. I didnt jump once! YAWN

  • Awesome Movie

  • Well said! I do agree that Robert Englund was Freddy. But of all of the Horror movie rehashes this was my favorite. The movie didn't scare me in the least bit, but i thought the Cinematography was marvelous.

  • one of you has been wearing a green shirt for the past seven-eight videos?? haha

and the summer movie preview was a good idea

  • thanks for the review, guys. you've been on a spurt of reviews the last week. glad to see you're making up for lost time...

  • Think I'll watch this on dvd. I love Haley, but Elm Street has been done to death already.

    Cool review nontheless!

  • I saw it last night and I gotta say, I really wasmt impressed at all. The movie was not scary at all. I liked Jackie Earle Haley, I think if he was the original Freddy or this was not a remake he'd be a great Freddy, he just dosent have what ever Robert Englund hade in that role. He just looks and sounds so diffrent. Overall the movie was just ok.

  • I haven't watched this movie yet but this Freddy doesn't scare anyone. The makeup looks like a puppet but well I have to watch it before to have more arguments.

  • When I first heard about the remake I was interested. Having seen the trailers I now have no interest. The thing looks like the stupid 'remake' of PSYCHO. Haven't we seen all this? I call B.S. on the film and refuse to shell out any money for it.

  • Yeah I didn't like the remake at all.

  • 1, 2, Freddy stinks of poo

  • the new one was so bad

  • I thought it was incredibly dull. Even JEH didn't do well imo, still channeling Rorschach. And whoever did Freddy's makeup...oy.

People really are better off sticking with the original.

  • hahaha 1:30 lol

  • Jackie Earl Haley is a fantastically creepy man. I won't be seeing this though.

  • oh so its a remake! i thought it was another sequel..

i still likely wont go see it, horror movies dont do it for me

  • The movies problem is its creative control, by the looks of things its made be people who know horror movies exist and may have even seen posters for some of them but don't grasp the principles. There's absolutely no form of pacing or effective use of stillness, they can't wait to throw Freddy on the screen. Total abandonment of subtlety, and zero characterization. I've heard its scary but really all it does is startle and that's not difficult, I was startled when a possum jumped into my window.

  • Not a fan of remakes/redos or whatever. Watched the Rob Zombie version of "Halloween." He destroyed John Carpenter's classic. Sorry. I'm not a fan boy. I just don't like seeing classics that I grew up with being remade. It's a nostalgic thing. The way things are going, I would'nt be surprised if they redo The Breakfast Club or Ferris Bueller's Day Off. To me, that would be a crime. Come up with something original Hollywood. Goodnight.

  • Good stuff,you guys but I don't thin k that I would watch it.

  • speak the truth, schmoes!

  • @SamuraiSwoosh I actually agree with a lot of these points. I liked the fact that we saw more of Freddy's history BUT Michael Bay doesn't finance the film, he produces it and he had a say in it, a big say. Same way he did with Friday the 13th. But as I said before, Im just sick of remakes of classics.

  • @schmoesknow

Do you believe it's better to remake movies that weren't terribly well known, obscure, unloved or unpopular than remakes to classics? a good example of a remake to a very obscure film is The Crazies

  • ebert trashed it too, but i bet this is better than the karate kid remake

  • @13evilpriest13 We will see but unfortunately priest, apparently the early screenings of Karate Kid are testing through the roof. This information made me very sad.

  • @schmoesknow , :( this is sad cause i couldve dumped out better scenes than were in the trailer. The original is one of teh greatest ever, they shouldve just re-released that at the theatre

  • How do they account for freddy being much shorter than he used to be... and now PROBABLY shorter than most of his victims???

    Jackie is only 5'5".

  • Aw Kate Mulligan! Haven't seen her in awhile.

  • HA! "How sweet, fresh meat"

My favorite FK quote was the one where they're in a mental hospital and i think he turns into the tv or some shit and says: "Enjoy the daylight, bitch!"

    HI-FUCKIN-LARIOUS!!!!

    another good review Schmoes.

    -George

  • @geostillo78 OK,OK MY MISTAKE!

i just went and watched the clip from Dream Warriors.

FK says something about "Fuck the prime time, bitch!"

    still HI-FUCKIN-LARIOUS!!!!!

  • I can't say I'm surprised it was a bad movie. I mean, it was a Michael Bay movie.

  • So, how does a remake of Karate Kid differ from Nightmare on Elm Street? You were both adamant against THAT remake, and now you are going against what you said only a week or two ago. So, what is? To remake or not remake? What is the answer?

  • @forloveoffilm It doesn't, both of them shouldnt have been made

  • @schmoesknow Ergo, they should not be viewed for any purpose. You're getting there.

  • The chick in this video was awesome. She really added to the review.

  • i'm really sad to hear the reviews for this movie...i am 20 but i still watched the movies in my room alone in the dark as a kid when i sneaked them from my mom while she was sleeping...i couldn't sleep after watching them because of the fear of being killed in my dreams...remakes/re-imaginings can be so sad :/

  • Didn't Freddy's new face look like a burnt lion's face??? I mean look at the eye sockets then look at a lions face and blammo it's Lion King 2.0 LOL

  • @aragon131 Aragon, I wouldn't say SO AWFUL, I think I am just fed up with remakes of classics. It is enjoyable I guess, but it is just a lack of originality that drives me crazy and makes me dislike it maybe more than I should

  • @aragon131 It's probably the lack of Robert Englund that made it so bad. He IS Freddy Krueger.

  • o wow your both not wearing hats....Hey does he look like the guy from heros Matt Parkman? Or am I the only one?

  • You guys do really good reviews.

  • @cbernadel09 Thanks CB, glad you are enjoying them!
