I have this tree in my yard that has crabapples. These crabapples are about 1/2'' to 3/4'' in diameter. If I were to pick a bucket of them and cut the stems off, would they work?
@jtschid0910 as long as your bands are not too strong, Careful not to get fork hits. I shoot acorns. They will probably be relatively light, and accurate to about 15 feet. Could be fun, they should explode when they hit.
@jtschid0910 a fork hit is when your ammo hits the frame of the slingshot, usually where the band is attached. It is usually a result of not pulling back evenly or straight, or shooting ammo that is too large for the slingshot.
i figured out that marbles are cheaper and more efficient : time is money, electricity is money, kitty litter, flour, salt, water is money.... a bag of 100 marbles is 1 doller. 1 penny per marble. set up a catch box with a blanket behind it and they are reusable. at first i tried making my own... that is why i can safely say that marbles are MUCH better, in every single way.
@CERBERUS300ify since I made this video I shoot steel balls from McMaster Carr. The 3/8" balls are as cheap as marbles and you can pick them up with a magnet. Marbles are pretty good, but I have found steel to be more consistently accurate. And of course for short range there is always rocks.
wow that's pretty funny before i had saw your response and was out there trying it out today i noticed that they would spin off target quite a bit . they were shaped properly and everything i think it is because it has little holes in it that mes with the aerodynamics.
i was thinking about what is cheap as kitty litter but easier to form than kitty litter and found a recipe for salt dough.
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
Knead the dough and then begin to form in ball ammo. You can let them air dry or you can put it in the oven at 275 for 30 minutes or longer depending on the thickness of the dough. wanted to know what you think.
@TheDogcatchersito It is certainly worth a try. After a while I stopped using clay ammo because after about 15 feet the accuracy is lacking. I have since moved on to 3/8 steel balls. I use a magnet to pick them up.
lol i heard the M.A.S.H. theme song in the background

@mxred91 My bands are just the regular bands that came with the thing. What does fork hits mean?
