  • Charley Pride's version is the best hands down!

  • well him too but here on earth we have mr jones and no man can top him yet

  • LT1HILLINGHOE: Not a real deep thinker...are you? Only a shallow thinker would make a blanket statement that "Jones and Twitty are better on this and every other song". Why not add Little Jimmy Dickens to your list? RVS's version is better due to his delivery/phrasing and to the production quality of the record. And are you trying to impress us by CLAIMING to know about RVS's past domestic situation or where he worked? I'm not impressed.

  • Love all the greats artists that have recorded this song but Ricky Van Shelton owns it.

  • @tortolafan You are going on all the different artists' rendition and saying the same thing. You need to know that Ricky Van Shelton, although a pretty good singer, does NOT own anything. George Jones is better along with Conway Twitty on this song and every other one. Charlie Rich is better on "Life's Little Ups and Downs" too. Sorry to burst your bubble, but facts are facts. And FTR, RVS used to just beat the hell out of his wife when he lived in Grit Va. and worked at Altavista Motors. Fact.

  • LittleJimmy Dickens does a great rendition also.

  • Of all the great stars who have sung this fabulous song, GEORGE WINS the

    competition hands down!!!

  • @karendevaki I have to disagree with u on that one I think Ricky Van Shelton does this song best

  • the best that ever walked this earth

  • @melmannjr You're talking about Jesus...I hope.
