Whoever said that thejet fuel fires were weakening the steel wis probably right. There are videos on here of the WTC under construction that show the floors were pre-cast sections woth lightweight steel trusses, & there were no I-beams. They were easily weakened by the fires, & systematically collapsing, not only from the fires, but the weight of the planes, A Boeing 767 weighs 80 tons, which is about the weight of a locomotive, & this was progressively collapsing the floors underneath as well.
@pickensdoodle How fast did the jet fuel burn off? It doesn't just sit there and burn like a piece of wood. Most, if not all, was expended in the explosion. And the amount of debris that was blown out off set some of the weight of the jet, not to mention some of the jet left the building. Three buildings, WTC 1, 2, and the 47 story #7, fell straight down. Why pay demolition companies thousands of dollars to implode a building when all you have to do is set it on fire?

That probably mixed with the water from the sprinkler system, which would indicate some of the 'explosions' people heard. Go back to science class.

I assure you when jet fuel is aflame and trapped in confined space to some degree, the gases created by by the burning will super heat and melt anything, specifically referring to the iron support beams and the steel structure.

I saw a demo on TV where they heated a loaded steel beam with the kind of fuels available in the impact: kerosene, furniture, cubicles, drapes - I don't recall the actual list - and long before the melting point that people are STILL going on about, the beam just sagged like cooking spaghetti. With umpteen stories of WTC on top of weakening steel, I would expect it to pancake like that. It simply wasn't designed for an airplane crash.

Buildings do pancake, especially during earthquakes, so it's not unknown at all. And I know enough about building demolition to know it wasn't blown up from inside.
