  • THATS. SO. COOL!

  • Hey, how did you learn to move like this. I'm playing a marionette in a show, and I already found a way to move right. Just curious if you have any tips. ;)

    Oki/

  • @okisaan: I didn't really take any classes or anything... I did have an outside eye for a rehearsal or two, but much of it was play and explore and find in the moment. When I coach others, I really look at how the body wants to dangle and go from there...

Lots of luck on your show!

  • It has been 3 years since I first viewed this. I can not believe how mesmerizing you are. I want you to come live with me...

    Ok, that was creepy.

  • @dokuhaku2323: agreed. creepy. lol!

  • the music is so mystery and sad

    just like the marrionette

  • This is one of my most favorite vids on Ren Fest.Nice to see so much talent and imagination put into such a public display.Would hope to see them in person one day.

  • creepy! what music is this?

  • it is from the soundtrack of Being John Malkovich

  • Brilliant!! Love the 'show' and very entertaining. Keep up the good work. I would love to see you in person. You make us Rennies and Renfolk proud.

  • thanks!

  • HOLY HELL I SAW YOU!!!!!! I was at the Bristol Renn faire, and I saw the giant with the marionette...

    GREAT JOB!!!!!

  • that takes some really awesome skill :DD

  • Who was the giant? There was a person inside the giant, right?

  • yes. :)

  • I'm impressed. Your act had to have taken A LOT of coordination and A LOT of practice.

  • I honestly can't tell if that is a puppet or an actor. No really, I can't...

  • it's an actor... ;) thanks.

  • I love this faire! It's so lovely. Moved to N. FL 10 yrs. ago. Have a fair each Feb. nearby in Gainesville but not as nice at the Kenosha one. God Bless, Marci :~)

  • thats amazing!

  • I hope to see you at the 09 faire.. Twill be my first time going. I have a good friend who lives near Kenosha, so she and I are going.

  • you are just amazing...i adore this video,i adore you...you are just fantastic...every time i see this video i feel very nice...:))

  • I just went for the first time to the Southern Cal Ren Faire. I am so hooked. I have to say though that this faire looks way more Amazing!

  • I love you! Why have I never seen you at the faire?! This would be my ultimate favorite thing there if I saw you! AMAZIING!!!

  • I am on to other roles at the faire, and you probably have seen me. I have passed the role onto others, but it is a pretty limited engagement, so if you aren't in the right place at the right time, it is pretty easy to miss. Look for it this year! And thank you!

  • I think this must be a whole lot harder than the fantastikal gig. You're really a wonderful performer

  • Thanks, hun.

  • huzzah! truly great job! will you be performing this act again at this year's faire? i am greatly anticipating its arrival! ^_^

  • I will be back, not as the marionette, but I'm sure you will see my work around the faire.

  • Amazing!

  • Brava madam that was quite the performance! You played the part perfectly from the walking, to the interaction with onlookers, to the stillness of your hands and face. You played the part of an essence that was not living and truly gave it life, a very haunting performance indeed. Keep up the amazing work and God Bless!!!

  • Truly a work of art, in every sense of the word.

    5/5

  • I'm so glad that I favorited this, I watch it every so often and marvel at how amazing you actually are.

  • That is truly impressive!

  • that was amazing O_O

  • absolutely brilliant!

  • how can you make your hands that still for a long time?

  • the hands were far easier than the face. We stiffen our wrists alot nowadays, and I just utilized that, but to kill the facial response was very challenging.

  • That was really great, at first I thought the guy was controling your movements.XD

    Fooled me.:P

  • Thanks~!

  • That was insane!!! You moved like a freaking puppet!!! One question were those yoru real hands or did you like have your hands in fake ones so the fingers didnt move? Was Gipeto like dying in that mask?

  • I did not wear gloves... those were my real hands... and yes, on hot days, that Gepeto head can get quite toasty. Thanks for the compliment!

  • Huzzah!

You're excellent, and pretty, too. Bonus!

    I was there today, btw.

I was there in the '70s when it was King Richard's. It's come a long way!

  • You've really got the movements down well! I can't wait to go to the Bristol Renfaire!!

  • This fair is awesome. I was a little pissed though cus I drove my friends about 2 hrs to it then they got tired 3 hrs into it and made me take them home.

  • ...were they bodiced?

  • This is so cool that you got a vid of yourself!

  • I'm going to this! this year hope to see that!!!

  • you are just too good at that! I was lucky enough to see it once last year though i had heard rumors of it! Are you going to be doing that again this year?

    ~A St. Georger

  • I've passed on the gig to another girl, but I helped her rehearse with our stilt walker. I'm really excited to see what she does with it!

  • You and the puppeteer did an amazing job. i would've thought that you were an actual marionette! lol

  • that is really amazing! You are fantastic! I would love to do that... I bet it's hard work.

  • It never ceases to inspire me, especially as a former Ren faire performer how dedicated people like you are to making sure that the faire scene remains a high point in people's lives! Videos like this have helped me experience faire between faires! A hearty Huzzah!

  • this performance is amazing-

and has been my main source of research for a play i will be doing very soon.

    thanks for sharing it.

  • This is just great... but remind me something:

"I'm a corporative puppet!" ahahahahaha xD

  • Oh, one more thing: what is that music from?

  • The music is from "Being John Malkovich". thanks for the support!

  • I second IzzySoop. I'm just blown away by your committment to your actions, and your focus not to laugh ;D

And props to your puppeteer- stilts is a hard gig!

  • That was seriously one of the most amazing things I've pretty much ever seen.

Kudos to you and your puppeteer

  • speechless ! fantastic!

  • Beautiful. True magic.

  • Jenn ! Unreal ! Keep the magic going ! Thank you for posting this as well ! Take care !

  • That was absolutely magical.. I wanna go to meet her now..

  • wow she is amazing

  • All I can say is...

    Enchanting.

  • Your performance was breathtaking. Simply beautiful! You are a wonderful actress. Your puppeteer deserves kudos as well.

  • He certianly does. His work is actually FAR more strenuous and exhausting than mine.

  • Hey Jenn, I thought this was really cool! I really think you could have a chance on America's Got Talent. Well, as long as you have many different acts or can make different acts ;) Seriously tho, a ventriloquist won this year so I deffinetly think you could win! Get back at me Jenn, thanks!

  • That was really incredible... And a little creepy as well...

    Very cool.

And thanks to Shoepixie for pointing out the music, I knew that I knew it from somewhere. :D

I hope I'll ever see this in person, but since I'm living in Germany I doubt that I'll ever make it.

  • Anthony, I changed my mind the video Human Marionette at the Bristol Renaissance Faire is the best one! Leila Mariam Serur.

  • Hi , I'm from Brazil =D

    sorry by the bad english

your performance was fantastic , very impressive and realistc , very beautiful and at the same time very scary ! xD

    love it

    congratulations !

  • Absolutely and hauntingly beautiful. I would love to see you at TN ren fest some time : ). You are wonderful at this!

  • That was incredible. You are so good at that! I'm sure that a lot of those kids in that video were convinced you were an actual marionette doll with how well you move. Awesome performer!

  • Thanks!

  • Ah, this wias very lovely. I love the Fair so much! I wish I had seen you perform last year, though. Beautiful music as well.

  • I saw you! I thought you did a WONDERFUL job! Are you comeing back this year?

  • I will be performing this year, but I will not be the marionette. I'm going to teach someone else the gig. You will find me in the fairy glen this year.

  • I will have to look for you. I was going to try and be an actor, but decided agaist it. I kinda wanted to sell flowers at bristol ^^. Anyway, I hope to see you there!

  • Oh! Whose the new Marionette?

  • VERY NICE love the music too. Great addition!

  • which bristol was this in? what country?

  • It takes place in Bristol, Wisconsin, near Kenosha. It is modelled loosely from Bristol, England.

  • Ah, I live in Bristol, England :D.

  • so very cool and perfect soundtrack. Hard to act non human when an 8 year old girl is right in your face I'd bet, but beautifully done.

  • haha I pass that so many times at the faire maybe this year I might get my picture with U

  • whoa

  • that's awesome!!

  • That... is fucking amazing.

  • dude, easy on the swearing.

  • I really want to go this year now... great job!

  • That was wonderful! Thanks for the smile! :-)

  • wow very good! you realy look like a puppet! could you make another? ;)

  • It is really up to the wonderful assistance I got from an outside source to tape my work. He graciously allowed me to use his footage in my profile.

Thank you for the nice compliment.

  • Thank you. I do have one question, are those tassels or bells on the costume?

  • Most are tassels, but there were some bells as well.

  • sweet. did you make it your self? if so how long did it take? (my sis loves it by the way.)

  • While I have made many costumes, this is not one of mine. This was designed by the costume designer of the ren faire, Kate, and her lovely girls that whipped this thing together in a only a couple of weeks!

  • so did you take acting classes for this or does it come naturaly? lol have you done any other work like this in the past?

  • I took movement workshops, but there was no "act like an inanimate object class" at my college... some day, man, some day.

  • hahahaha

  • I've seen you at the faire, very nice I must say, one of my favorites at the faire

  • And Puppet Love from Being John Malkovich as the music! Very clever, Jenn me girl! And a good reel, here.

  • Great video was that you as the puppet ?

  • yep

  • Very nice works!

  • Thanks!
