I have a 9 years old cat, a 4 y-o cat and a 2 y-o husky. The two youngest get along pretty well, it was rought at the beginning to teach the husky to stay calm around the cat. But it works. My oldest cat just doesn't want to be around the husky, so she is avoiding it.

The puppy is actually trying to hunt the cat but has found the cat about the same size as himself. If they don't make a "truce" so to speak one of them can seriously hurt the other. I'm not saying this isn't amusing and letting it happen every now and then is fine but you should really get your dog to understand that attacking the cat is bad they both could be badly hurt or killed. (I'm not saying it's not amusing but my friends husky puppy was killed by a cat. similar situation except cat won)

Some comments on this video see this as letting the dog build a negative behavior. From my own experience with 2 inside cats and a husky who is 3 years old now, only just calming down. As far as this situation goes, the cat knows what it's doing, and the husky will grow out of it.

In My experience..yes. My 6 yr old Siberian (Ariel)got her but kicked by our cat, but she got loose and killed a couple of the cats in our neighborhood. On the other hand....Our other Husky (Kiara) has never killed one.

I totally agree with rugby. Neither of my Huskies were raised around cats and both of them have snagged more than one cat. Yes, they are very good hunters. Tasha used to catch birds in mid-air. She would wait until they did that little swoop-down off the fence. Took six months to break her of that. Never did break them of their digging. My neighbors overlook my poor landscaping because my huskies are looked upon as neighborhood rodent control.

In fact the oldest dog was scared to death of cats til the day he died.
