It's not Storm II's fault, it's Tornado's. They caused the death of Robot wars
The first thing is the heats. after the heat they tried to introduce a new rule to prevent heavily armoured robots like Storm II to enter. Another was in their battle with Firestorm the producers tried to disqualify Storm
ii as they did not use their weapon. Then theres this battle where they though a lifeline to tornado. then there is the infamous grand final whch they suceeded in stopping storm II. Then there is the world championship final so e nough bashing Storm II there a good robot.
This was the one thing I wanted to happen in Series 7. It sure was bang out of order the way the producers fucked Storm 2 over in the end, but I didn't really care who won as long as Tornado got eliminated in a brutal way. I would've preferred for Razer to do it, but the way Storm 2 dished out the punishment compensated well. Watching Tornado getting smashed like that against the sides again and again - it was like watching Michael Jordan with a basketball.
Anyone can answer these questions. Who yould win in these fights. @ThaEmperor2000 First One: Razer is more fragile than it looks, one strong hit will knock it out. Third: Hypnodisc has more parts open to attack, whereas on Typhoon 2 the whole robot is protected as all of it spins. Final: Same reason as first.

I don't want to be a killjoy to all you Storm 2 fans, but I was there for the filming of the Grand Final.
Point 1) Has it occurred to anyone that they raised the pit because it was Refbot who hit it, and Tornado would have been unfairly killed?
Point 2) For the grand final, remember it was edited for TV. What you see on TV isn't necessarily what happened. From my point of view, that crisp day in 2004, Typhoon was the better machine. So now you've heard it from someone who was there.
@Sixthsense1990 judging by the way craig said "the crowd don't like it" (canned applause?) you were alone in thinking typhoon deserved to win.
on television you can see a chain slide out of the bottom of typhoon at the same time storm II's front armour breaks off. they feel that this internal damage wasn't taken into account because the judges were not informed of it. the studio audience would not have seen what went on behind the scenes.
but who knows whether it would've affected the outcome?
@Blompcube Fairplay, the applause was canned, and I was most likely part of a minority. I remember thinking that the chain coming off might swing it, but I think thats the flaw in the judging system I suppose.
@Sixthsense1990 yep, the storm II team claim that the judges were not informed of the chain in the first place, but i think that's the only thing that was intentionally done against them - for TV, they probably made storm II appear to be dominating the fight early on because they wanted the sudden dramatic turnaround in the last few seconds. and tornado was lifted out of the pit because they wanted it to look like a close fight for the reigning champions, i guess
@Sixthsense1990 Refbot being the one who hit the pit is a fair point, although exactly the same thing happened in the Axe Attack; Hydra was dominating the fight, and while Kat 3 was immobilised, Iron Awe wasn't and Refbot hit the pit as Hydra was near it and it went over, causing Hydra to be pitted. No compensation was made there.
Series 6 and 7 were ruined by the finals. Shame as all the other series before that had had great climaxes.
You clearly see the pit going back up when Tornado "escapes". If that wasn't enough, Storm 2 suffered daylight robbery in the final straight afterwards. The officials are scum and rigged it in the end.
RIP Robot Wars, you were healthy and uncorrupted once and we'll never forget it.
The worst bit is, when Tornado landed on the pit, it's edited. The pit actually went all the way down, but they made it look like they just escaped :(
This was one of my favourite battles of the 7th Wars. I didn't really care who won, providing that Tornado went out of the competition in a brutal way. And this battle was just amazing - seeing smash after smash agaisnt the walls. It was like watching Michael Jordan with a basketball.
2:31 - you can get a pure glimpse of the pit rising up, thinking the TV viewers would see it as Tornado getting away from the pit in time. Interesting, if Tornado escaped, the Pit should've still been down... but it wasn't. Edit Fail.

@Leeroythegreat well there is still no doubt that tornado is one of the greatest robots ever created. even if tornado hadn't used the anti-pit device there was still a chance tornado could have won because andrew merchant is a far better driver!
and even if they might have lost against razer in that, there is still no doubt tornado are one the greats. i mean lets face it, they beat gravity!

@Blompcube I think the reason that they put the pit back up was because the Refbot had activated it and so they didnt want to ruin the match by pitting Tornado when Storm II had nothing to do with the pit being lowered.
@MrMechanus Okay, what they did wasn't called illegal, but it was very cheap. A robot should not be allowed that much modification, and the "anti-pit device" was such a stupid thing to have been allowed. It defeated the whole purpose of being able to win battles due to driving skill and engineering rather than having the right weapon. So, yeah, they didn't cheat per se, but they won in a cheap way, which isn't far off in my book.
@Ditherless lol well they were aloud out the pit when it went down! and it wasnt all from this match razer vs tornado 6th wars! razer vs tornado world championship they moaned about how they 'werent' above the pit and razer was dead when he was fine!!!!! dumb shit!
@liamglen1 Tornado was only let out of the pit because the producers were biased against Storm 2. Had somone like Gravity pitted Tornado it would have gone down. Also in that European championship battle Andrew Marchant was right to complain. Team Razer themselves said they were immobile for way more than the 30 seconds because Razer's motors burned out, and it should have been counted out.
@MrMechanus i'm not convinced that was the reason - i think in this series refbot would often open the pit, much like how it would open halfway through a fight in series 4 before they installed the pit release button. although in this case i don't think the producers had any bias towards a particular robot here - they just wanted it to look better on TV. i think the match-fixing shenanigans would've still happened if it was tornado vs xterminator in the final.
@mrfallout261 Yup. That was clever editing from the crew. If you read on the Storm 2 website, the producers clearly had a vendetta against Storm 2 due to it being a 'box' type robot like Tornado, and thought it was boring. In this fight, Refbot lowered the pit, Tornado actually ran into the pit, but the pit was then raised back up so Tornado could keep fighting. Blatant manipulation of the fight - that's the Storm team's account, anyway. If it's true it kinda taints my love of this great show.

@mrfallout261 it is definitely true - if you watch carefully, you can just about see the pit rising back up on the birdseye shot where tornado drives away - they tried to hide it with the camera angle but when you know it happened, you can see it.
Storm 2 is by far the superior machine, it looks better, it has better weaponary, it is better armoured, it is alot faster and has so much more power.

@DarkAltiar I know, the first version of Tornado, which still had most of the compnents of the current one was built for Series 4 while the first version of Storm 2 was build for Extreme 2, there was a Storm 1 but it was a completely different machine, but apart from the basic blueprint, Storm 2 was completely different internally and the chassis design (not shape) was also very different, and in the 2rd WC I think Storm 2 won on aggression, if you remember it nearly smashed Tornado OTA

@IndianaJoel93 Actually Panzer Mk4 was a tank and could push anything. It was beast. Either way, you cant say the storm 2 is better. There pretty equaly matched. The armour is the same pretty much. Both very durable. Since he really doesnt have much traction, it really doesnt have more power. Alot is wasted making it weaker. They should of thought of making better tires for Storm or it will just slip non stop. and for the record, Biohazard could beat both of these bots.

@glint20 One thing I thought was shit about Series 7 was that Razer wasn't there, especially considering how they got screwed in the Series 6 Grand Final. Many great robots like Razer, Hypno-Disc, Chaos 2 and Wheely Big Cheese were away from the arena.
@dudemandude999 I doubt even as powerful as Tornado's shove is, that it could survive the full brutality of Really Big Cheese's flipper if it got caught by it... remember that flipper could literally send machines flying through the air.... and once sent one out by hurling it over half the arena's lenght... out of the Arena. Hypno-Disc had a much better way to deal with the majority of flippers anyways... tear them to pieces!

IN MY OPINION RAZER AND TORNADO ARE EQUAL AND I DON'T THINK EVEN RAZER WOULD HAVE DONE WELL IN THIS SERIES FOR THE SAME REASON CHAOS 2 WENT OUT EARLY IN S6. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OUTCLASSED. THE REASON TORNADO GOT THIS FAR HERE IS DUE TO IT BEING THE ONLY ONE WHO EXPLOITED THE INTERCANGEABLE WEAPONRY
@ThaEmperor2000 I doubt it, because Razer would have been seeded 2nd in this series, so it would have faced the same opponents as Firestorm did, and I think it could have easily beaten them
from study on the series if hypno-disc and razer went into the 7th wars they would have had different paths.
hypno-disc would have been seeded 6 or 7 and would have versed Tough as nails and would have beaten it easily due to it's exposed wheels. That puts it up against x-terminator in which it would have beaten easily as it's faster and more manoverable than X-terminator. Razer would have been seeded 2 and would have cone up against Atomic and won on a judges desision as Atomic is well built.
if Hypno had been seeded 6th it would have had Spawn Agains route, it would have easily beaten Raging Nightmare and gone onto face Tornado, if it had then beaten Tornado it would have faced Gravity, and due to Gravity's feeble armour, Hypno would have won if it avoided the flipper, Razer would have had Firestorms route, it would have easily beaten Ripper in the head final and Mute in the semis, it then would have faced Storm 2, and had Razer won we would have had Razer vs Hypno Disc

@IndianaJoel93 i didnt count robots which pulled out beforehand (Domibator 2, Terrorhurtz) and i gave Hypno-Disc a higher seed than Bigger Brother as a result of being a 3 time grand finalest but lower than dantomkia as it defeated Chaos 2.
After That it is against Typhoon 2 and the spinner woulds be too dangerous for razer to try and attack it as often. this wotld alow it to lose to typhoon 2 on a judges desicision i think in damage or aggression.
So AKA hypno-disc would make the final but razer would probably be placed 5th.
Now the grand final The storm vs Tornado is obvious. but the Typhoon2 vs hypno-disc a little unsure. as typhoon is compareable to hypno-disc in abilities and Hypno-disc is not a full spinner is an advantage.
@ThaEmperor2000 tbh I think if Razer kept front on on Typhoon 2 it would win, because Razer's bottom "jaw" is the perfect angle to get in underneath Typhoon 2, Razer would have then clamped down and pitted the air cadets.
In that effect hypno-disc might win agains typhoon 2 and if it did it would lose to Storm II and finish 2nd. but if it lost it would lose to tornado and finish 4th.
So in conclusion Razer would make the 2nd semi finals andhypno-disc would make the top 4.
@ThaEmperor2000 well terrorhurtz would smash hypnodisc. i am a hypnodisc fan but i am being realistic. terrorhurtz is the perfect design for defeating hypnodisc.
the hypnodisc series 4 vs chaos 2... could go either way. all the others are great fights we will never see.
H-D v Razer: Depend's on the manouverability of HypnoDisc as Razer is suceptable to flywheels
(Storm) v Razer: Invertible machines such as Tornado are easy prey to Razer. But as Storm is MUCH faster and MUCH more manoverable than Tornado I would say Storm II
Chaos 2 v (Atomic): no contest as Chaos 2's strength was its speed
H-D v Terrorhurtz: It would also depend on HypnoDisc's manouverability.
(H-D) v Chaos 2: Probably HypnoDisc. It's Srimech is the key.
Q1 hypno-disc because of how slow razers beak is and how unreliable they are
Q2 storm 2- why because once again of how unrelibale razer is, i see storm 2 ramming razer around untill something in razer comes loose
Q3 chaos 2 its to fast and powerful for atomic
Q4 now this is tricky but i am going to say Hypno-disc because while Hypno-disc hates axes terrohurtz lacks the spiked axe so wont be able to stop the disc and based on fluffy against terrohurtz their armour is to weak
Questioning your first question. Hypno Disc isn't build to take on Razer as it has many weaknesses and wouldn't get the chance to fight Razer as it would be flipped out of the arena yet again by another flipper.

I suggest you do your homework and look on robot wars wiki before posting me a comment. Razer is not a Axe and Crusher. It is a Vertical Crusher and Crushers are not related to axes, they are two different weapons. Your actually insulting Tornado and Storm two by calling them "boxes". They are Pushing robots not boxes.

I don't care if you have a degree in engineering, Razer is not related to an axe. Razer is a Hydraulic Crusher and not all vertical crushers have pivets and operated by a ram. Axes are powered by CO2 and never hydraulics. If you think you know everything about robotics then a true expect would know not to confuse Axes with Crushers as they cause different effects.

I didn't intend to offend you in any way so I apoligise, Im only expressing my point that Razer's Vertical Crushing Claw is different from a Puematic CO2 axe. Hypno Disc may look ideal to take on Razer but it really isn't. Razer may of suffered from Pussycat in the past but Pussycat has a Sawblade not a Flywheel, Saws spin faster and tend to do more accurate damage than Flywheels, but Flywheels are heavier and therefore can do more unaccurate damage, simply just doing damage.
@RobotsGreatWar2 i just think that in a battle Razer and H-D in my opinion would go like this. razer would go on the offensive but H-D would get out of the way. and cause damage first. Razer would probably get the rear but not the disc. and H-D would damage the side skirts. In a nutshell if they did fight it would go to a judges desision. and i think it would go like this.

Aggression: Razer
So Hypno-Disc would probably win on a VERY close 2-1 desision.

Everybody. Just a few points to say about tornado and Storm II.
1. The tornado and Storm team are good mates. They helped each other with their robots so i think they just wanted to fight their best.
2. Tornado didn't cheat. the device is an anti crusher frame FIRST. razer did come up with a way to beat it but sadly they conked out.

The first thing is the heats. after the heat they tried to introduce a new rule to prevent heavily armoured robots like Storm II to enter. Another was in their battle with Firestorm the producers tried to disqualify Storm
ii as they did not use their weapon. Then theres this battle where they though a lifeline to tornado. then there is the infamous grand final whch they suceeded in stopping storm II. Then there is the world championship final so e nough bashing Storm II there a good robot.

This was the one thing I wanted to happen in Series 7. It sure was bang out of order the way the producers fucked Storm 2 over in the end, but I didn't really care who won as long as Tornado got eliminated in a brutal way. I would've preferred for Razer to do it, but the way Storm 2 dished out the punishment compensated well. Watching Tornado getting smashed like that against the sides again and again - it was like watching Michael Jordan with a basketball.

@ThaEmperor2000 First One: Razer is more fragile than it looks, one strong hit will knock it out. Third: Hypnodisc has more parts open to attack, whereas on Typhoon 2 the whole robot is protected as all of it spins. Final: Same reason as first.

I don't want to be a killjoy to all you Storm 2 fans, but I was there for the filming of the Grand Final.
Point 1) Has it occurred to anyone that they raised the pit because it was Refbot who hit it, and Tornado would have been unfairly killed?
Point 2) For the grand final, remember it was edited for TV. What you see on TV isn't necessarily what happened. From my point of view, that crisp day in 2004, Typhoon was the better machine. So now you've heard it from someone who was there.

on television you can see a chain slide out of the bottom of typhoon at the same time storm II's front armour breaks off. they feel that this internal damage wasn't taken into account because the judges were not informed of it. the studio audience would not have seen what went on behind the scenes.
but who knows whether it would've affected the outcome?

@Sixthsense1990 yep, the storm II team claim that the judges were not informed of the chain in the first place, but i think that's the only thing that was intentionally done against them - for TV, they probably made storm II appear to be dominating the fight early on because they wanted the sudden dramatic turnaround in the last few seconds. and tornado was lifted out of the pit because they wanted it to look like a close fight for the reigning champions, i guess

@Sixthsense1990 Refbot being the one who hit the pit is a fair point, although exactly the same thing happened in the Axe Attack; Hydra was dominating the fight, and while Kat 3 was immobilised, Iron Awe wasn't and Refbot hit the pit as Hydra was near it and it went over, causing Hydra to be pitted. No compensation was made there.

Series 6 and 7 were ruined by the finals. Shame as all the other series before that had had great climaxes.
You clearly see the pit going back up when Tornado "escapes". If that wasn't enough, Storm 2 suffered daylight robbery in the final straight afterwards. The officials are scum and rigged it in the end.
RIP Robot Wars, you were healthy and uncorrupted once and we'll never forget it.

This was one of my favourite battles of the 7th Wars. I didn't really care who won, providing that Tornado went out of the competition in a brutal way. And this battle was just amazing - seeing smash after smash agaisnt the walls. It was like watching Michael Jordan with a basketball.

@MrMechanus Okay, what they did wasn't called illegal, but it was very cheap. A robot should not be allowed that much modification, and the "anti-pit device" was such a stupid thing to have been allowed. It defeated the whole purpose of being able to win battles due to driving skill and engineering rather than having the right weapon. So, yeah, they didn't cheat per se, but they won in a cheap way, which isn't far off in my book.

@liamglen1 Tornado was only let out of the pit because the producers were biased against Storm 2. Had somone like Gravity pitted Tornado it would have gone down. Also in that European championship battle Andrew Marchant was right to complain. Team Razer themselves said they were immobile for way more than the 30 seconds because Razer's motors burned out, and it should have been counted out.

@MrMechanus i'm not convinced that was the reason - i think in this series refbot would often open the pit, much like how it would open halfway through a fight in series 4 before they installed the pit release button. although in this case i don't think the producers had any bias towards a particular robot here - they just wanted it to look better on TV. i think the match-fixing shenanigans would've still happened if it was tornado vs xterminator in the final.

If you read on the Storm 2 website, the producers clearly had a vendetta against Storm 2 due to it being a 'box' type robot like Tornado, and thought it was boring. In this fight, Refbot lowered the pit, Tornado actually ran into the pit, but the pit was then raised back up so Tornado could keep fighting. Blatant manipulation of the fight - that's the Storm team's account, anyway. If it's true it kinda taints my love of this great show.

Tornado was the original power pushers in teh series before Panzer became a good bot. Panzer liek you said was a Tank and could shoved storm and tornado both. but in the 3 W.C. Tornado for most people was robbed, and people thought tornado won. So you cant say he relaxed. He was shoved many times aswell.

@DarkAltiar I know, the first version of Tornado, which still had most of the compnents of the current one was built for Series 4 while the first version of Storm 2 was build for Extreme 2, there was a Storm 1 but it was a completely different machine, but apart from the basic blueprint, Storm 2 was completely different internally and the chassis design (not shape) was also very different, and in the 2rd WC I think Storm 2 won on aggression, if you remember it nearly smashed Tornado OTA

@IndianaJoel93 Actually Panzer Mk4 was a tank and could push anything. It was beast. Either way, you cant say the storm 2 is better. There pretty equaly matched. The armour is the same pretty much. Both very durable. Since he really doesnt have much traction, it really doesnt have more power. Alot is wasted making it weaker. They should of thought of making better tires for Storm or it will just slip non stop. and for the record, Biohazard could beat both of these bots.

@dudemandude999 I doubt even as powerful as Tornado's shove is, that it could survive the full brutality of Really Big Cheese's flipper if it got caught by it... remember that flipper could literally send machines flying through the air.... and once sent one out by hurling it over half the arena's lenght... out of the Arena. Hypno-Disc had a much better way to deal with the majority of flippers anyways... tear them to pieces!

from study on the series if hypno-disc and razer went into the 7th wars they would have had different paths.
hypno-disc would have been seeded 6 or 7 and would have versed Tough as nails and would have beaten it easily due to it's exposed wheels. That puts it up against x-terminator in which it would have beaten easily as it's faster and more manoverable than X-terminator. Razer would have been seeded 2 and would have cone up against Atomic and won on a judges desision as Atomic is well built.

if Hypno had been seeded 6th it would have had Spawn Agains route, it would have easily beaten Raging Nightmare and gone onto face Tornado, if it had then beaten Tornado it would have faced Gravity, and due to Gravity's feeble armour, Hypno would have won if it avoided the flipper, Razer would have had Firestorms route, it would have easily beaten Ripper in the head final and Mute in the semis, it then would have faced Storm 2, and had Razer won we would have had Razer vs Hypno Disc

@ThaEmperor2000 I think Razer would have beaten Typhoon 2 tbh, Razer's bottom "jaw" is just the right shape to get under Typhoon 2 without being hit by the teeth on the side of Typhoon 2

@IndianaJoel93 i didnt count robots which pulled out beforehand (Domibator 2, Terrorhurtz) and i gave Hypno-Disc a higher seed than Bigger Brother as a result of being a 3 time grand finalest but lower than dantomkia as it defeated Chaos 2.

After That it is against Typhoon 2 and the spinner woulds be too dangerous for razer to try and attack it as often. this wotld alow it to lose to typhoon 2 on a judges desicision i think in damage or aggression.
So AKA hypno-disc would make the final but razer would probably be placed 5th.
Now the grand final The storm vs Tornado is obvious. but the Typhoon2 vs hypno-disc a little unsure. as typhoon is compareable to hypno-disc in abilities and Hypno-disc is not a full spinner is an advantage.

In that effect hypno-disc might win agains typhoon 2 and if it did it would lose to Storm II and finish 2nd. but if it lost it would lose to tornado and finish 4th.
So in conclusion Razer would make the 2nd semi finals andhypno-disc would make the top 4.

Q2 - That's a hard one
Q3 - I go for Atomic

@ThaEmperor2000 well terrorhurtz would smash hypnodisc. i am a hypnodisc fan but i am being realistic. terrorhurtz is the perfect design for defeating hypnodisc.
the hypnodisc series 4 vs chaos 2... could go either way. all the others are great fights we will never see.

H-D v Razer: Depend's on the manouverability of HypnoDisc as Razer is suceptable to flywheels
(Storm) v Razer: Invertible machines such as Tornado are easy prey to Razer. But as Storm is MUCH faster and MUCH more manoverable than Tornado I would say Storm II
Chaos 2 v (Atomic): no contest as Chaos 2's strength was its speed
H-D v Terrorhurtz: It would also depend on HypnoDisc's manouverability.
(H-D) v Chaos 2: Probably HypnoDisc. It's Srimech is the key.

Q1 hypno-disc because of how slow razers beak is and how unreliable they are
Q2 storm 2- why because once again of how unrelibale razer is, i see storm 2 ramming razer around untill something in razer comes loose
Q3 chaos 2 its to fast and powerful for atomic
Q4 now this is tricky but i am going to say Hypno-disc because while Hypno-disc hates axes terrohurtz lacks the spiked axe so wont be able to stop the disc and based on fluffy against terrohurtz their armour is to weak

Q1 it depends on Hypno-disc as it is ideal to take on razer.
Q2 i agree but because of Storm II's speed and manoverability.
Q3 i thought Atomic as atomics flipper is ideal to take on other flippers.
Q4 although Terrorhurtz axe is not pointed it's still strong enough to smash the disc so once again it depends on Hypno-disc.
Q5 hypno-disc not just because of the SRIMECH but the low center of gravity of chaos.
that's why i am working on a rebuild of H-D to fix the issues.

Questioning your first question. Hypno Disc isn't build to take on Razer as it has many weaknesses and wouldn't get the chance to fight Razer as it would be flipped out of the arena yet again by another flipper.

This is how it works. (there are two different
examples ot the robot types)
Spinner Bot (Hypno-Disc, Pussycat) > Axe & Crusher Bot (Razer, Dominator 2) > Flipper Bot (Chaos 2 Firestorm V) > Box (Tornado, Storm II)

That is incorrect. Sorry but if you start putting robots into their types like that then clearly you know hardly anything about robot wars. I suggest you do your homework and look on robot wars wiki before posting me a comment. Razer is not a Axe and Crusher. It is a Vertical Crusher and Crushers are not related to axes, they are two different weapons. Your actually insulting Tornado and Storm two by calling them "boxes". They are Pushing robots not boxes.

I don't care if you have a degree in engineering, Razer is not related to an axe. Razer is a Hydraulic Crusher and not all vertical crushers have pivets and operated by a ram. Axes are powered by CO2 and never hydraulics. If you think you know everything about robotics then a true expect would know not to confuse Axes with Crushers as they cause different effects.

I didn't intend to offend you in any way so I apoligise, Im only expressing my point that Razer's Vertical Crushing Claw is different from a Puematic CO2 axe. Hypno Disc may look ideal to take on Razer but it really isn't. Razer may of suffered from Pussycat in the past but Pussycat has a Sawblade not a Flywheel, Saws spin faster and tend to do more accurate damage than Flywheels, but Flywheels are heavier and therefore can do more unaccurate damage, simply just doing damage.

@RobotsGreatWar2 i just think that in a battle Razer and H-D in my opinion would go like this. razer would go on the offensive but H-D would get out of the way. and cause damage first. Razer would probably get the rear but not the disc. and H-D would damage the side skirts. In a nutshell if they did fight it would go to a judges desision. and i think it would go like this.
Style: Razer
Control: H-D
Damage: H-D
Aggression: Razer
So Hypno-Disc would probably win on a VERY close 2-1 desision.
