TOC 2010: William Patry, "Law Is Not a Business Solution"

This speech points out two of the biggest obstacles in the debate surrounding file sharing; which, while it is copyright infringement it is not "stealing" or "piracy."

The first is that law is not a solution to business problems. This is what he calls "regulatory capitalism," Too many companies use this as a shield to protect the status quo.

The second is the general failure for copyright holders to innovate, to put consumers first, & to create products that customers want to pay for.
