@Chaanee I was looking into this camera but in the end decided to go with the Panasonic Lumix TZ7. It is a bit more expensive but has a much better camera, HD movie mode and OIS!
I like it i was actually looking forward to buying this one, but the video quality is just too PASTY looking, theres no sharpness in it and the sound is no good =/ im def loking for sumthing better. =/
I agree, saw this camera for $200 and was hoping the HD would be fairly good but looking at these tube videos indicates a smudginess to everything. My Fuji S2000HD does better video than this.
nooo just the person who uploaded this rendered it wrong or probably converted it or something nd it messed up the quality. Its actually alot better than this.
Hi, definitely there is not mic input in this camera, it only have the AV out , USB and HDMI out. That was one of the most powerful reason to upgrade to the Canon Vixia. Bye
This video was taked with this sanyo TH1 camcorder, it was night, recorded onlyy with the lights of an apartment. There you can see the quality in night and teh great microphone that this camera have.
This Sanyo is a good purchase for the price but if you need some basic professional things like the mic input, headphone outputs and non-grainy night shots you should think about a Canon Vixia camcorder, obviusly, you have to pay twice the price of this sanyo. For me, the upgrade to Canon HF10 means to paY u$520 with spare battery for the canon (refurbished), alot more than the U$280 that I pay for the sanyo TH1.
Hi, it doesn't have a mic input thats why I upgrade to the canon HF10, well that and other things like the optical image stabilizer, as the sanyo is so lightweight the handheld records can be very shaked. Now I'm missing the battery life with the canon because the sanyo have like 200 minutes and the canon only 60-70 minutes.
It worth, go for it. If you have the $600 go for a Vixia, but from 280 (what I paid) to $600 is a long way, so go for it, enjoy as I did and if you want more spent some money in a new one.
i guess the original video file looks alot better, i did notice on the offical site it says to tweak the iso etc for nitetime shoting etc. everyone seems to just do the auto mode and say its bad,of course i have seen other cams in auto mode and they look brilliant, maybe you just have to tweak this one lol
I think is a great camera for the money, the battery life is great, the quality in good light conditions is as good as the canon hf10 and the best of everything is the price.
Why I upgrade to the vixia HF10?, well, for me start to be necessary isolate the sound, so, now I need the mic input; second reason, the digital image stabilizer of the sanyo is not the best, and the lightweight of the camera doesn't help with that.
you generally get what you pay for with cameras. so if your not a serious videographer this camera is great for the price but anyone serious about good video would get something better and a bit more expensive. i would suggest the canon vixia hf20 or the hf 200 great camcorder. fair price.
Well the other option for me with HD was the Sony webbie and too many reviewer in Amazon said it was not so good camera, the other cameras in the price range were SD so I choose this Sanyo, with the time I'll can affort one of the Canon Vixia cam, but for now I'm happy with the results of this Sanyo (I'm jumping form miniDV camcorder, so, only for the fact of don´t pay more for cassettes worth the price of this. Thanks for comment
