  • Umm..even if u pop off the keys aren't the settings for which is which still in the keyboard?

  • Qwerty: the computer from Veggie Tales! :D

  • lol i actually took the time to find out that the "<Day Frg Rgidy Yr Tbr, vjrm" at the end said "What You Ought To Know .com"

  • This is a proper word on Wordfeud.

  • BEHING UR LIES!!!!

  • ugh asdf jkl are common keys! lol. forget the semi colon that was all he had to cling to for his statement. and NO i don't want to pop off the keys and learn a new keyboard. thanks I type just fine. queerty of course is what i thought when i clicked this video.. of course i had just watched his anti gay propaganda video.

  • pretty fucking awesome vid

  • My Dad was born in 1923 & he used to tell me about how the typewriter was designed so they couldn't type as fast because of the jams. Good vid.

  • My mind just got Blown.... Dude I'm so fucking high right now.... Too many shrooms. Good video though. i like you haircut.... BRO....

  • @EmporerAllen I think I would need the shrooms to get my mind blown about how our keyboards are incorrectly laid out.

  • in till now i didnt get what was the point of qwerty keyboards!!!

  • If keyboards were changed to alphabetical layout then I'd have to relearn how to type.

  • i used to use a qwerty keyboard, then i took an arrow in the knee

  • @CowGrenades your an idiot.

  • @Worldofwarcrafterful You're**

If you're going to tell someone that they're an idiot, don't show your own ignorance at the same time.

  • @Worldofwarcrafterful I used to be an idiot, then I took an arrow in the knee. By the way, I use a Dvorak keyboard, and you can call me an idiot all you want, but it's not going to stop me from commenting on videos.

  • dvorak is a cool word. XD

  • My grandma used to be able to type 120 wpm on a qwerty. No joke. She was a state secretary.

  • "Its kind of the same, but completely different" lol

  • this video made me switch to dvorak board. it took me 8 minutes to type this. ',.pyfgcrl/=\aoeuidhtns-;qjkxbmwvz

  • Taking off the keys and moving/swapping them won't make the new position type the same letter. It will still type the old letter. You will need to install a Dvorak keyboard driver or actually buy a Dvoark keyboard.

  • 66 people don't know what a typewriter is.

  • 2011. Still the coolest video.

  • qwertys my password hahahahaha ... wait no it isn't ]:\

  • NICE ;)

  • sooooooo

    you dont like qwerty keyboards?

  • Wooo look at me, I don't touch type and only use 3 fingers total on a regular keyboard anyway. I don't think a Dvorak keyboard would be for me.

  • thumbs up for imac g3 keyboard :)

  • You look like Jake from the bachelor..

  • Click on 1:31 over and over haha.

  • Buttcheek

  • Several times in my typing life I have decided to "go dvorak", I used it for several years when I was a student. I got to where I was faster on dvorak than on qwerty. I *still* wound up going back to qwerty several times. There's always some weird problem like key caps catching because all the keys are not exactly the same shape, or some software that refuses to recognize the dvorak key mapping. In the end I gave up the fight and went back to qwerty permanently. So much for progress.

  • Some people watching this video may be interested in looking into colemak instead of dvorak. dvorak is rather old and dated, it doesn't take things like common keyboard shortcuts (copy, paste, cut) or symbol usage such as @, where as colemak does. Colemak maintains the position of common shortcut keys, remains very similar to qwerty (Allowing you to switch back and fourth easily) and yet has all the performance perks of dvorak. I've been using it for years now, it's great.

  • I love QWERTY. I've written a 30,000 word book on it (still need to beef up that word count though). And I only type with two fingers, three when I use the Shift.

  • This is the words on my keyboard.

    qwertyuiopåasdfghjklæøzxcvbnm

  • or you know, learn how to type fast. i do fine with the qwerty :P

  • i never do it that way, i learned how to type fast just fine with two fingers.

  • Love the new reactions thing :O

  • AZERTY

  • keyboards, and typing are becoming obslete due to advances in programs like dragonspeech and i type that allow you to type with a microphone

  • lolz asdf

  • @FaustIIIV It's obviously Z! :D

  • That is just slack -- the dvorak keyboard minimizes finger movement --

Typing is the only exersise some officer workers get.

  • I find I type pretty fast on a querty :/

  • SHIT!

i p()ped ()ut a key ()n my keyb()ard and can't get it back in, can y()u guess with ()ne?

  • @FaustIIIV It's B!

  • @FaustIIIV it's the () key. i lost mine a few weeks ago.

  • @FaustIIIV

Obviously, its u. "I puped uut a key un..." Derpp... stupid kids. ;3"

Ps I did this for the lols.

  • Cracked dot com stole this for thier article :P

  • @josh18230 I would like proof

  • @josh18230 I would like proof

  • i sish it eas so true i could tell you..

    damn qwerty keyboard..

  • i only use 2 fingers and never took keyboarding...i still type just as fast as the teacher its called lifeless nerd computer usage..and btw i actually found the keyboard thats alphabetical

  • I'd rather not have to spend another few weeks learning to type on a new keyboard just yet. I'll let the 7 weeks in grade 9, which got me to 90 WPM, suffice for now.

  • I've been using Dvorak for two years. And I am getting faster and faster - no end in sight. Surpassed my 15 years of qwerty typing speed already.

  • The reason I watched this video is because I typed in QWERTY because I was bored. Lolololol

  • I use dvorak yej! :D

  • I use dvorak, but never bothered to move keycaps. I just memorize the whole thing. It's faster that way.

  • lol?

  • its not wierd. its an LP song :P

  • Kind of the same, but very different.

  • If this video was a pancake, it would be a very good pancake.

  • waffle.

  • @MrTechHeads

That comment made about as much sense as the purpose of this video.

    ...you knew that, though.

  • I learned on a QWERTY, so yeah, I'm used to typing on a QWERTY. Since most places use QWERTY, I think I'll stick with using it, too.

  • press 4 repeatedly, the guy is retarded!!! XD

  • thumbs if u were bored and typed qwerty on youtube?

  • I was bored, didn't know what else to type

  • I can live with a QWERTY.....

  • I don't type slow... ;P

  • Thumbs up if you were bored and u typed this in and found this video :)

  • press 9 for BORAT ! xD

  • BAHAHAHA, press 4.

  • qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm!

  • press 2 for fart

  • @DennisCronqvist BAHAHHAHAA ! x)

  • I was standing here on my Balcony just enjoying the cool breeze when a bird flew by singing a nice little tune , suddenly my day got better and i decided to find a cure to all diseases.

Never layed 1 eye on the damn keyboard and still almost no misstype there my good ol chap ;)

    + For random nonsense XD

  • @OilyTower Fuck off.

  • @MrSiiKez Have a good one! ;)

  • ASDF JKL; oh yeah... really usufull

  • Thanks i alwaws wanted to know what qwerty meant.

  • kjdodq; ;smdkjglu ,oglu ,gkj t vdtnsaoh! Haml x,dokte G pg.d h.soavE

  • 0:58. funny as hell

  • his face at 3:41 is priceless

  • i'm about 10 and i can type fast as a teacher with the qwerty keyboard, she's really fast ._.

  • @skunktronix dont use something quantitative like "twice as fast" when its not nearly true. I type between 120-130 wpm on qwerty on a bad keyboard, I highly doubt I would be typing anywhere near 260wpm on a dvorak.

  • @IwillKillYourCereal so did I.

  • is 108 words per minute on a qwerty good if im 14 years old?

  • qwerty sound like queery

  • I typed "qwerty" in the search bar because I was bored lmao

  • Sorry, but I've been typing QWERTY since the 5th grade and I'm not about ready to change over just cause a new layout seems a bit faster. I'm sticking with QWERTY. My opinion

  • @dannyywd1982I A bit faster? Try more than twice as fast, once you learn it. Which, btw, takes less time than it does to learn qwerty. Also, you just proved a point this guy made: People are sticking with qwerty because they've "always" used it. Imagine the same logic applied to other things. Like, "I've been using an oven for years and I'm not gonna use a microwave just because it's a bit faster." I've been using Dvorak for at least 5 years, and I regret NOTHING.

  • ;) unless you're being flirtacious online. rrrrrrrrrrrr :)

  • As a programmer, I like having the symbols easily accessible under my pinky.

    But that's just me.

  • Yes uuh... If I bought an alphabetical keyboard I'd type like 4 keys a minute because of how use I am to a QWERTY keyboard.

  • so whats qwerty?

  • hahahaha this is funny

  • i type with 2 hands and the QWERTY keyboard is PERFECT 4 me!

  • LIKE THIS. /crosses hands

  • Moving the keys around makeyou still write the sameletters. Onlyyou type the wrong ones. So you don't get what you type. Even though he hinted that in the end,I wonder ho many ppl fell for the prank.

  • @ExtremeWelder

you have to change the keyboard settings in the control panel(for windows)

  • dvkrak is patented. selfish bastards

  • qwerty is good becuase it minimises wrist pain and other typing related injuries becuase it takes longer to type

  • @bobbinator37 that doesn't make any sense at all.

  • @bobbinator37 regardless of whether it takes it takes longer to type or not, you are still pressing the same number of keys. Not only that, but when you get typing faster, you are moving your hands much more than you do with a dvorak keyboard, the result is that you INCREASE wrist pain and other typing related injuries. With dvorak, you type faster, but the overall hand movement is reduced.

  • LOL at the end

  • i almost got a typewriter...but i think qwerty means crazy and bubbly!

  • thats a good rowr O_O

  • I accidently clicked on this. I clicked on dislike but unfortunately you can only click dislike once... Sad face

  • air port security for 12 years olds? right.

  • As slow and inefficient as the QWERTY layout may be, I'm perfectly content with it.

Mostly because I've thrown the whole 'home keys' concept out the window and let my fingers dance all over the keyboard. It's actually kinda more fun.

  • Bleh, too much effort.

  • colemak>dvorak

  • Ya know I've never even heard of a DVORAK Keyboard. I think most people in the US dont either. If anything when you think about it business wise we should be using it to increase efficiency. But then again there are a lot of things that could increase efficiency but its so simple we just dont think about it.

  • I've considered Dvorak a few times. Too bad it does not work on iPad.

  • Qwertyou12 is my gamer tage

  • popping out the keys will not work! The computer still registers the same keys, the little plastic things you tap are for your use alone, if you pop out a key and tap the remaining piece it still will type the missing key. Kids at school are always rearranging the keys on the school computers to say stupid things and swear words, however if you don't look at the keys, you will notice NO difference in ur typing.

  • @SillyNerdify dork

  • @SillyNerdify No you don't just pop out the keys, you also change the settings on your computer :P my boyfriend did it and then put dvorak stickers on the keys:)

  • i have to agree with the skeptics as it were. sadly we are in a position where the current keyboard configuration is based on an issue that is completely obsolete (typewrighter jams). but one must take into consideration what a world wide change in that configuration might do to international effeciency. i belive that children should learn a more efficient typing method, and its easy enough to change to config around. but for those of us who know qwerty it is quite unlikely that we can change.

  • @kght222 myself = 80+ wpm typing on qwerty. and i can get quite faster. part of the trick of querty is that you have to use the same finger to type letters in many words. but i will make an attempt with dvorak, see if i can actualy manage to put it into my head, but it took me years just to get to the point where i dont have to look at my keyboard while typing with qwerty. and i dont chat on chat engines anymore or even in games, so i get allot less experience with typing than i did as a kid.

  • @kght222 not to mention i type nearly as fast as i think the words even using qwerty, if someone could easily type even faster i fear that people might have the issue of typing before they think.

  • @kght222 oh i never use my pinkies to type, you type in a way that is comfortable for you, i only use the first 3 fingers my my hand to type, and often only my middle fingers, ring fingers is the least often finger i use, on my left hand my middle finger is most common although i also use my ring finger and my index depending on the word i am typing, its more important to know WHERE the letters are than to worry about what finger to use.

  • This guy is eternally from the 90's

  • LOL crazy guy, I like it! This finger it's not design to reach so far...So true :)) Grate video

  • I was unable to learn qwerty (at least by touch), I tried for years. Dvorak had me touch typing in three days.

  • QWERTY IS MY WORD!!!!!!! STEALERZZZZZZZZZ

  • I switched to dvorak about a year ago. Best descision of my life.

  • @mooology

you must have a very exciting life

  • @mooology Decision* ;)

  • I type 108 words per minute on a QWERTY keyboard

  • vegitales

  • qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm try reading that

  • asdfghjkl... dammit this f**ing ipod doesnt have semicolon at the end..

  • haha. "it's what you ought to know .com" it took me about 15 mins to figure it out.

  • It took me about a month to learn Dvorak and now I hate using anything else. I never switched the keys, though, just reprogrammed my brain. Kind of like learning another language, only a whole lot faster.

And for those who are curious, Dvorak is the guy who designed the layout.

  • its said "QWERTY"

  • Thumbs up if you don't even use Home Row. Lol.

  • azerty FTW

  • This guy's a noob nigga.

  • i half learned the qwerty system so even though i look at the keyboard when i type i can go pretty fast since i know where all the letters are

  • HA! i'll agree with you on that one

  • Never tried Dvorak but i find that with the correct hand holing i can press about 4 keys without moving my hands. So every 4 letter word takes one press of the button+the time it takes for me to process what order i have to press them in. I see how Dvorak is superior but considering I get the wrong order of letters in words when using querty. I probably need to move my fingers.

Why is it called Dvorak? Am i missing something obvious? Because it's not for the same reason as QWERTY.

  • It's all about adaptation and time. I would have it down in about three days.

  • you look like ym fridn paul

  • My keyboard:

    QWERTZUIOPÜ+*

    ASDFGHJKLÖÄ#'

    YXCVBNM;,:.-_

Why did I tell you? Why did you read?

  • My Aunt Qwerty likes this video.

  • qwerty

  • Dvorak FTW

  • Swedish standard keyboar (QWERTY, but with ÅÄÖ)

    §1234567890+

  • Real men use Dvorak...

    -Typed in Dvorak =D

  • Its none of these QWERTY is an insane song from LP

  • qwertty

  • it just says "what you ought to know .com"

  • i have QWERTZ

  • what is that supposed to say at the end of the video?

  • what is that supposed to say at the end?

  • go.kill.your.self.

  • qwerty is actually a badass song by linkin park check it out

  • Don't QWERY!

    It's QWERTZ!

  • @lofosus Noo it's a QWERTY! And before you say different, look at the first 6 alphabetical letters on your keyboard. Guess what they spell? QWERTY :)

  • if someone typed it in on their keyboard thying to find out what it is they would notice what it is as they typed it

I just typed it in for the hell of it

  • Lol ur a nerd. In a good way :)

  • typewriter

  • QWERTY is GENIUS.

  • Fun fact: You can type the word typewriter using just the top row of letters on a qwerty keyboard

  • Dvorak keyboard huh... Nah to hard

  • As long as I've been using a QWERTY keyboard, I think that my fingers would get tied in knots trying a different layout.

  • qwertz ftw

  • @xGKxaliasxMex Its QWERTY!

  • @tamagirllaura1 ye and qwerty sucks ^^ thats why qwertz ftw

  • @xGKxaliasxMex ehh each to there own I guess. I am british so I don't think we even have QWERTZ here... I am guessing they are the same as QWERTY but with the Z and the Y swapped?

  • @tamagirllaura1 thats qwertz exactly ^^ for almost any german spoken country ^^ and couple countries in northern europe. and i believe middle east too

  • @xGKxaliasxMex Nope we don't do them :/ I looked! Ahh well, not like I could get a new one, I have a laptop and removing the keys is impossible :( I tried and broke off the -> arrow key :( Now it can't be fixed... Oh well at least it works
