Anyone who claims that Jeter will never win an Olympic or WC gold really means that they DONT WANT her to win an Olympic or WC gold medal. People, we know you're biased, don't beat around the bush, just say what ya mean for heaven's sake. A person's past was never meant to be the script for one's future, so cut the crap!!!
So those haterz and those talkin crap, that Bolt came out of nowhere, watch these on youtube .Usain Bolt a world junior champ at age 15, Usain Bolt @ Carifita in Bermuda 2004 19.93 world junior record and Usain Bolt 200m 20.40 world youth 2003. See what he was doing long ago before now, he's no Montgomery.
you seem to know very little of track, or it's denial and Us bias. How the hell can you look at the Olympic and wc and say she cannot beat Jetter?Wasn't Jetter in Berlin?wait, she didn't even qualify for Beejing, imagine that, .She started running fast late in life, running great at 30 yrs, but it's no guarantee she'll be able to run like this 2011,2012. And as i speak VCB and SAF defeat Jetter, now what?New pb for VCB, yet you d***k riders wrote VCB off. I told you not to.
@Ras09true...Fraser isn't worrying too much? but she is worrying....she hasn't come close to beating Jeter since the WC's lol. I do agree with you on Yohan Blake tho, although I am from the USA he is my next favorite runner after Gay and, I think he can be something special and maybe take over after Bolt's REIGN is over. I can't see how you can possibly say that Fraser will beat Jeter, NO WAY, NO HOW. Sounds like some Jamaican Bias to me....?
Jetter will not win when it comes to wc or Olympics. I don't think Saf is worrying too much, she knows she is world and Olympic champion and when the time comes to defend it, she'll be a different beast.Champions are a special breed, they know how to focus, get things done on the big occasion under pressure. I also notice something different in her technique this season, she's improved, you'll see the results later on when she gets into gear.
Also people are talking about Dix, Rodgers and Willims, i think Yohun Blake will start blowing these guys away soon. He 20 this year, and has already ran 9.96 and 9.93 last year, he's the only teenager to have gone under 10s.He also ran 10.11 when he was around 16,17 and was expected to be breaking 10s long ago.
People are talking about this young female sprinter coming up, i know one in Jamaica too. He'll be 16 this year, you watch out for him at world youth or jnrs this year. A guy by the name of Jazeel Murphy.last yr this guys times are way faster than the class one guys who are 17,18. He ran 10. 41 in 100m and 20.97 in 200. Was expected to lower these this year but had hamstring injury. His father though wants him to just focus on the 200 for now. He ran against older guy this year as well and won.
@Ras09true Well Ras09true, talented athletes do exist outside the USA & JAM. Nickyelunico & I were just acknowledging that fact. And, it's a breath of fresh air to hear about GB's Jodie Williams as she is truly a gifted runner. She's gonna roll at the WYCs & take names. Blake is a talent & one will see how he progresses. But, the USA has Jeff Demps, who ran a 10.03 in 2008 while he was still in high school & we'll see what he does at the NCAAs.. We must recognize that we don't live in vacuum.
@kmb9624 eh, we'll see kmb, I'm honestly not seeing it right now.. She needs to lose a few races really badly to muster up enough strength to run a 10.5 IMO
I also wanna see her in more 200m races, with all that top end speed I know she's capable of a low 22 or even in the 21s...
@Nickyelunico LOL, you're right. She has potential in the deuce. I'd really like to see her run against Felix. maybe she could inspire Allyson to run better curves. I'm worried that VCB will get her (Felix) because she run some very good early season 100s. Felix is fit (50.15), but not enough speed work. It would be perfect if Jeter & Felix...Do I hear a coaching switch for someone.? Like John Smith for Felix, lol.
@kmb9624 haha, we spoke on this last year, Felix is NOT leaving Kersee... She's been under his wing for too long unfortunately... I can understand her doing some 400m work for endurance but now it's time for her to come back down to the 100s to build more speed! If she can run in the 10.8s this year, her 200 will be dangerous!
@Nickyelunico Yeah Nic, you're absolutely correct Felix WILL remain with' Kersee. I'm cool wit' it, but I hope that there's some Divine intervention from above that compels the gifted gazelle to run the curve. Meanwhile, she does need more speedwork, so she ought to get into more short races with Jeter. And Jeter should run more 200s with Felix, likewise.
@kmb9624 I know it's a little off topic but Chicago has been producing GREAT sprinters on the high school circuit that need to watch out! a Junior girl here ran a 11.76 into a -1.9 headwind, and a freshman girl ran a 11.57 into a 1.9+ tailwind!! she's gonna be the next Allyson Felix KMB mark my words!!
@Nickyelunico Interesting. That's good news.! Hopefully, they'll get into a meet with the current leader, Florida's Octavious Freeman, a junior; who ran her 11.30 into a 1.9 headwind. Developing these youngsters is key.
@kmb9624 yea I heard about her, she's amazing, imagine if she got a tailwind... that could have easily been the national record of like 10.98!! I hate to admit, but in general I'm more impressed with the female circuit than the male... I need them to spice things up a bit, Bolt has been too complacent these days!
@Nickyelunico I agree with you 100.% I'm certain that Bolt's exploits, and to lesser extent Gay's, has subdued most of the elite male sprinters. Many probably believe, realisitcally, only Tyson and perhaps Asafa, has a realistic shot at beating Bolt. That type of sentiment will not bode too well for the sport as all endeavor to be #1. However, besides Gay, I think Dix, maybe Williams, is in the drivers seat to do some spectacular this season.
@kmb9624 Dix and Gay are my favorite sprinters on the male circuit, and I've always preferred Mike "Mouse" Rodgers over Ivory Williams.. Dix is coming back with some nice times after his hamstring injury, and he cut them dreads off! He should go faster now!! haha
@Nickyelunico LOL, yeah he just might go faster. Rodgers is a tad slower this year than last, but I think he peaked too soon last year to be effective when it counted most. He's run a creditable 10.06, so I think he's ok. I want Gay & Dix to make statements, with perhaps Gay upsetting Bolt in, at least, one of the two sprints. Of course my take is the deuce, but I'd prefer both the 100/200. However, Usain's lookin' pretty good with early season 9.86/19.56, so.......
@Nickyelunico What about the16 year old British World Youth Champion, Jodie Williams, running 11.24 and 22.79 already this season. I think she is the next Allyson Felix.! She could potentially get Felix's 22.18A WJR. What do you think.?
@kmb9624 I just saw that! When I read that, that was INSANE! She could DEFINATELY get that WJR by her senior year, I thought Felix's record would stand for a LONG time but she's definately pushing it! I would love to see her and Octavious Freeman run the 100m! She could push Freeman to the american record I believe..
@Nickyelunico LOL, uh huh, that was INSANE. I'm sure that she & Freeman will meet at the WYC. I expect Williams will run a sub 11 by her Sr year & she will run a below altitude WJR in the deuce. This young woman is gifted & is running w/o much competition. Freeman & others will have their hands full as this chick is da bomb.!!!
@Nickyelunico Lol. Don't get me wrong... I love track and field but those wonderful ass shots are truly the closest thing to gratuitous porn in sports.
@beebeechitown I am just saying John Smith has a track record that you can't just ignore. I wouldn't be suprised. She is an amazing athlete though. I can't wait to see what kind of times she puts up as the season goes on.
there's nothing sexier than a female sprinter!!!!!!!
