Upon impact of the shoryuken, press and hold mk and mp. Ryu will cancel the rest of the shoryu animation, and go into a focus attack while his oponent is still flying in the air. You can cancel this focus attack by dashing forwards or back. This is a very good time to hit the opponent with the ultra, as they are deffenseless.

It s been over ten years now and people are still playing the same way back when street fighter two came out. Isnt it boring to use fireball after fireball and uppercut when the guy jumps. not really boring... those people are called spammers... there are plenty of ways to avoid these characters and beat their cheap strategies, but it's no sense crying over cuz they're gonna do it anyway... my suggestion is to just find out a way to counter projectiles from each character and try not to fall for their "jump close to me so I can uppercut you" tactic... all good players don't need to jump as much except for akuma because his air fireball for pressure + starting combos

Dude Wong does not suck with Rufus, he won the US SF4 National Tournament earlier in the day, beating 15 of USA's best along the way....he than beat the Japan (Iyo) & Korean (Poongko) national champions (search for them here).....only to lose to Daigo here, Daigo's game is solid which shut Wong's Rufus down. If you ever play him you will most likely get raped.

Probably because of character advantages. Iyo's character is Dhalsim, who doesn't have a Shoryuken, which counters almost anything Rufus does.

Theoretically speaking, if Justin Wong beat Iyo, he should have fared better against Umehara than Iyo did. But Ryu's weapons just work so much better against Rufus. Up-close fighters with high mobility work better against Dhalsim than Ryu.
