  • Wicked mon!

  • where's the sound?

  • wow no wonder he made 250+ this aus bowling attack at the time was shithouse

  • I was at the ground during this innings...best hundred I have ever seen. The timing was immaculate.

  • 1:04....what a shot!

  • @TheRooster94 aGREE :D

    not a single person moved

  • @patwardhansandeep When you hear a (CRACK!) like that, I wouldn't bother moving. lol

  • @TheRooster94 This is incomplete video. I have seen the complete innings by him. when Lara is run out after a fabulous inning, commentators says - that is the only way he can be out today :-) so true about him

  • Brian lara is the best batsman i ever see

  • richie richardson was the best hook shot.

  • dont forget richardson please he played an outstanding innings as well

  • bradman is still the greatest batsman ever and warne is the best bowler of all time. Lara was talented so was sashin.

  • Problem with calling Bradman the best is that you have not seen him bat.

  • In the days of uncovered pitchs, small bats, and larger fields, even averaging 35 would be considerably difficult

  • He is the most genius in cricket

  • @shankyfx dont forget sir Donald Bradman

  • lara is better but sachin is the best

  • to Kierronin

PLEASE ENCOURAGE LARA AND ALL HIS FANS FOR HIM TO COME TO PLAY FOR GLAMORGAN IN WALES

LIKE SIR VIV OR KING VIV WHO CAME TO CARDIFF FOR 4 YEARS AT THE END OF HIS CAREER LARA WILL BE TREATED LIKE THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LIKE KING VIV HE CAN LEAD GLAMORGAN TO TROPHIES IN 20/20, 50 OVERS AND COUNTY CRICKET. GLAMORGAN IS BUILDING A NEW STADIUM READY FOR NEXT SEASON AND HOSTS TETS CRICKET

  • cant believe the greatest ever genius has retired gutted really am gutted such is his talent he leaves a hole like the gulf of mexico world sport will never be the same

  • Yeah deniro. Its heartbreaking to see him leave. Cricket will never be the same. Just like how basketball has never been the same since Micheal Jordan left. Lara leaves such a big whole in world cricket. Hope he comes back and shares his knowledge and wealth of experience. Best of luck to him. I am proud to be a TRINI and West Indian!

  • Some of them wore hats not helmets...imagine that! Lara is brilliant! Lovely graphics to show his superb shots. The commentators are not very objective and it shows sometimes.

  • ok first off im from the west indies, and it doesnt matter if warne was a greene horn or not, lara has more than 1 double century against Australia, so whats your point, lara is a class act, we all know that deal with it...and live on World Cups on now WI FOR WORLD CUP!

  • nice batting

  • Fuck off Thor17, its nothing to do with his nationality or race u fucking sensitive twat. Typical. I bet ur West Indian?

  • and what u tryin tuh say about west indians?

  • You are the one who is sensitive and evidently lacking intelligence as people who can't carry on an intelligent debate quickly resort to profanity.

My point remains: Bradman faced a far lesser calibre of bowling attack than Lara. And I will add that the elegance and sheer range of strokes that Lara uses is better than Bradman.

  • And who said anything about race? Please... don't add anything to my words. It has diminished now... but the cricket commentary during the 70s and 80s was full of nationalistic bias. Deny that and you just show how myopic or naive you are. Remnants of this bias and a NARROW look at cricket statistics cause people to continue to proclaim Bradman as the best... but go look at the footage of Bradman; observe his technique and the quality of the bowling.

  • Thor17, you have to remember that Warne was quite a greenhorn then, and had not picked up too many wickets by then. Besides, it was raining too, so the wicket was quite skiddy and not too great for spinners. Even Greg Matthews who ordinarily spun it a lot at Sydney had major trouble getting any turn from this wicket.

  • I hear you, but what is that at about 00:50?

Also, most bowlers prefer overcast and kinda wetty conditions. Just in terms of the Physics of it, with the denser air, the bowler is able to achieve more swing. And the wet ground slows the ball as it traverses the ground and makes it harder to hit fours. And during Lara's knock (maybe not obvious from just this clip) you can see the ball turning (off the pitch) and Lara reading and dealing with it.

  • Do you see how many times Shane Warne looks dejected and perplexed as Lara hits him all over the place. Shane Warne... one of the best bowlers ever...made to look like a schoolboy by the brilliance of Lara. Lara was reading Warne like a book. Could Bradman have batted to Warne like this, with the big Merv Hughes also in attack... Think NOT! Lara is the greatest. If he was an Englishman or Australian, all the experts would have proclaimed him as the greatest.

  • hes not much of a big hitter

  • Brian Lara in his prime....nun but class....

  • This was so good he named his daughter Sydney.
