I have a fashion instructor from each of those colleges, FIDM and Otis. The one from Otis seems to have more skill.

It all depends what you really want to do, FIDM gives you a "technical" degree in the fashion industry where you either become a pattern maker, a merchandiser etc but hardly a head designer (that's what everyone dreams of). Otis on the other hand gives you a B.A. where you don't only learn a technique but the entire process from concept design to digital design, graphic design, illustration, construction, pattern to merchandising a garment at the store. BIG DIFFERENCE.

@superman002000 SOOOOO AGREE!! thank you for making this known!!!! i have a friend that is going to FIDM and she is so cocky thinking that she is about to be the next LC. But i tried to explain this same fact!

--does anyone know if OTIS is better than SCAD? I think they may be on the same level but im not sure.

I desprately want to finish my fashion degree. It has been a child dream to be a fashion designer. Im 29 and need a lot of financial aid help who knows. I would die to go to this school I must look deeper into it. Its amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzing. Just up my ally

You can NOT compare Otis to FIDM, I am an upcoming Junior and once considered FIDM. I am happy to say that I made one of the best decisions of my life by selecting Otis over FIDM.

Otis is an art school where you get an undergraduate degree and study intensively for 4 years.
