Volvo made this yeeears ago, great job to Mercedes for "pioneering" this :p

Volvo were smart enough (years ago once more) to put the warning INSIDE the cabin so it can actually be seen by the driver under all conditions.

I find it highly disturbing that people need an indicator to know where the traffic is around them. What's next? A warning if another vehicle is within 100 meters of our own vehicle so we know when we can pay even less attention? Maybe an alarmclock?

I think that the Mercedes BSA is a problem at the night. I was driving rural road at night time. When a car behind me comes with high beam light, i could not see the little triangle in the mirror of driver side. Because of light reflection, it was so dangerous.

@liontazan That's probably why the triangle flashes AND a 'beep' sound is activated if you turn on the indicator and there's a vehicle blocking the lane...

The Mercedes BSA is seriously annoying, plus it looks cheap because you always see the little triangle in your mirror, even when turned off. Search for "Audi side lane assist", they did a far better job on this technology
