  • lot of swimming video on swim-video.ru

  • rock it lol

  • i only swam the mile in practice once...i got bout 24 minutes. im sure id do better in a meet tho. im only 13. and mr 8 year old, u should b in the olympics u liar!

  • Are swimming events not all measured in metric? Thus a mile becomes 1500 metres

  • @donster660 I don't know, but some pools are 25 yards here in the states, 25m and then some have 50m lanes. Countries that use the metric system tend to be all metric. A true mile is really closer to 1600m, but a swimming mile is generally referred to as 1500m. When submitting a time for an event seeding I'll use a 1650m time for a 1-2 mile OWS event. So, IME it depends on a few things.

  • @xeony2k The US has some hangovers from yesteryear in the way of imperial measurements. No international swimming events are run in imperial measurements. Australia went metric over 30 years ago. The best $60 million dollars we ever spent.

Many minesites have 24m pools here in Oz as the rule requiring a lifeguard for all pools 25m or longer. But these pools are for fitness, not competition.

  • Im 75 and I got 2h35m for the mile

  • anyone swam the mile here? i am 13 and i swam it i got a 20:07.43 whats your time?

  • @branodi Good job! You just broke Grant Hackett's record! Seriously... I doubt you're 8, and I doubt you even swim.

  • @branodi

    sure

  • he doesn't pull..he holds onto the water, and rotates his body past fixed point.

  • @janoserno : Ian James Thorpe, nicknamed the Thorpedo and Thorpey, won five Olympic gold medals. At the 2001 World Aquatics Championships, he became the first person to win six gold medals in one World Championship ...

  • He starts his pull-stroke very close to his body... Is that common? Is it be better for those who have more arm power as compared to the average swimmer?

  • EVF, my friend, look it up=)

  • I think that maybe his swim cap needs a little adjustment too, reducve drag and all!!!

  • your kicking at the knees, that bad from and more exhausting.

  • lol, that guy you're referring to happens to be a world record holding swimmer.

  • Im going to go ahead and say im sorry because i have no place judging a world record holder, maybe it just looked like that from the camera angle.

  • Well, he does have a very unique style which many people find unusual, so I can see where you're coming from...
