I think most people expect to hear something similar when they hear a cover of someone's song. First of all Tamia is Canadian and you can tell it when she sings, but she can do plenty of things with her voice Aretha never could. She has a tone it's just different than Patti or Aretha. She's not a shouter which u can't say for the other two. I think it just sounds different...not bad but different.

Aretha was completely unimpressed and I don't blame her. Tamia's voice cannot deliver such a soulful song. It takes more than delivering precise notes to be a cold singer. She has no tone to her voice in my opinion and there were several flat notes. I imagine that Aretha's lack of enthusiasm affected her delivery. Bless her for trying. I'm sure Aretha sat there thinking of several other voices she would have preferred to SANG that song.

Im lost. Now, I know Aretha always look at people crazy when theyre paying tribute to her but im trippin on the crowd sitting there like theyre deaf or dont understand english while Tamia she sang the SH*T out of this song and looked beautiful

Tamia is increidible she sang this song whit the high notes right where they belong and teh low ones belted and clear which is the really hard part cause you´re going up and donw and she did it so gracefully, and the most important NEVEEER SOUNDED LIKE SCREAMIN!!!!....

Tamia sounds so good here, superb actually, towards the end she was really getting it. It's a shame the crowd, including miss Aretha look dismayed?? Hmm, happens alot, People have talent or are so good at it, it makes folks jealous. Not saying thats the case here... she should have been praised more for this performance though.
