@superbassguitarboy This is the most basic model, a 10-string with the stock Stickup pickup. around $2,000.
There are other models, 8, 10 and 12 strings and with more expensive pickups as well. Pricing info is at the Stick website shown in the description of the video.
@WyattTheGuitarist There are upsides and downsides to any tuning. If you don't care about playing any chords at all with your left hand, just bass parts, then 4ths in the left hand makes the most sense. If you have 5 accompaniment strings to work with, as on a 10-string Stick, then inverted 5ths gives you the most range and the most possibilities for accompaniment parts on a single group of strings, you can be the bass and rhythm guitar player with just one hand. Thanks for watching
Excellent presentation. I like overhead shots. I may use some of that idea myself. Also, thanks for the 240p vs 480p explanation on the phone. I will upload larger formats in the future.
Thanks for the reply, Greg. I'm curious about your Stick: to me it looks like rosewood. Which pickup is it equipped with (sorry if you've mentioned this somewhere else already)? Thanks, Tommy
@tubulartom Hi Tommy, it's36"-scale laminated rosewood with Rails and the standard Stickup pickup. The tuning is the Baritone Melody tuning. Thanks for the interest. Happy Tapping, Greg
Excellent work, Greg! The video was both very enjoyable and helpful. I know that that's Goya's Dream at 7:55, but is there a title for the tune at 9:09 ("Syncopated chord arpeggios")? I just want to know which CD to buy! ;) The melody to that one and your interpretation of Autumn Leaves are just beautiful. I'm totally diggin' those bass lines! Thanks! -Tommy
That would be "Here, There and Everywhere" a Beatles tune that I released on a CD called "Shapes" (now out of print) as a duet with drums. I suppose I should add the song titles as annotations to the video. Thanks for asking,
Thanks for the video, the production quality is great! I really appreciate the different camera angles. There's much in there to inspire me to continue practising; it is surprisingly difficult to play anything more advanced than simple arpeggios while singing.
@wukeduo Thanks, Ricardo. Give yourself some time. I was the lead singer in the first band I ever played Stick in, and I'm nowhere near the singer you are (which is why I let me audience of the hook and went instrumental)
@karli34 Thanks Ricardo. I have a lot to learn about making videos, but I enjoy it. There will be more in this series. Any constructive feedback would be great.
So inspiring. Now I want one. Thanks for the video.

this pretty much shoots down megatar's videos about the inverted fifths tuning being harder to use.

Hey Greg, thanks for this video. Very clear, very simple, a good material for pedagogy. And the camera for the player's perspective is a super idea.
A bientôt
