  • That is an interesting piece I enjoy the movement of tonality.

  • Cecil Karrick was my high school band director. He has written over 400 marches and sonatas and other pieces. the march i liked most was Army of the Potomac. I played this piece back in 1966. I still talk to him on occasion. He was band director for Bowling Green High School..Bowling Green, Kentucky..He has since retired but an AWSOME director. We always played difficult pieces but got superior ratings..It was a priviledge to hear this again and played so well.

  • @larryglass61

Back in '66?!! You must have meant '96. You can't be around 70 years old.

  • absolutely love your playing and this piece! :-) I have never heard it before but it is quite energetic and delightful to the ear! Where would you get the music from? I looked on Flute World and it was not listed.

  • @kyleyac I can call Mr. Karrick and ask him where to get this sonata,,he was my high school band director..let me know.

  • Your astounding. Maybe one day I can be as great of a flute player as you.

  • I feel that the beautiful flute tone is overshadowed by a constantly unmitigated and unvaried tenseness in the phrasing and not often varied articulation that never allows an expressive affect beyond manicness to develop. Not nearly so good as some of your Telemann.

  • classicalmusicreview: Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you did not like the performance but I appreciate you taking the time to listen.

    Regards,

    Nina

  • how long have you been playing the flute?

  • dear bandnerd883: I have been playing more than 25 years.

  • Eerie and distinct. You never fail to impress Ms. Perlove :)

  • Sounds like a soundtrack from a 1950's era swashbuckler film!

  • Wonderful!

  • This was truly a marvel for me. I do love this movement because of it's, style, essence, and rhythm. It has a modern air about it but sounds so perfect that it could've been written ages ago by the masters.

  • I've been trying to find a ot of flute music online, but I don't know here.

Do you know any websites that have flute musics?

  • Without research, only by listening, this sounds along the line of Hindemith Sonata...wondered if the composer had influence from Hindemith.

  • Bravo!

This one took my breathaway. Music is so refreshing and inspiring.

    Thanks a lot! See you!

  • very nice music, it sound like Hindemith (I love his music!) Nina you're grat, as usual

  • very good tone.

    thanks for sharing! :D

  • Really beautiful. Gorgeous sound ^^

  • I´d like to play like this, it seems so naturally, easy.

    Congratulations Nina. I´ll keep trying.

  • stunning!!! how do u keep all the notes so intune???

  • You rule Nina! That sounds brilliantly awesome

  • Yes this is Much better, This is more like a question answer style, but a very nice arrangemant, sounds more like a movie score, thats what my ear is in tune to alot more, so it was very enjoyable :) And it really represented time frame it was written.

  • EXCELLENT!!! great!! Bravo!!

  • Very Nice! You both did a great job, 5 stars!

  • Very Good!

  • Beautiful sound , thank for this video

  • I loved it. I wish I could play like you AND compose my own melodies. I would be really happy then.

    *claps*

  • Thank you Nina for this video.

    Great performance, as always.

One day, you should try playing without score.

You would look so beautiful on stage.

    Not that you don't...

Once again, thank you, both of you,

    for this video!

  • My favorite so far Nina! =)

Ill have to look up the definition for a sonata, this one sounds very epic.

Oh yah, still waiting for that piccolo video from you! *Nudge*

  • and how long have you been playing the flute?

  • BEAUTIFUL. I'm speechless.

  • you can afford a gold one? must be pretty nice. I guess nows the time to buy it though. :)

  • its only gold plated i think. My picc. is anyway. hmmm.

  • Rodier1128: The 5 K flute is not plated, it is 5K Gold.

  • ok =)

Isn't gold kind of a soft metal? I always thought that was a bad thing.

  • 24K is soft. 5K is a lot stronger.

  • muy lindo...felcitaciones Nina!!!

  • Love this music! Great perfomance!

  • this is so awsome i wish i could play like that lol :P
