All Arundhati Roy has ever done is babble about how bad India is, and try to imitate (not emulate) Noam Chomsky. Her book was outstanding, but she constantly tries to be a pseudo-rebel. Where Chomsky always provides detailed reasoning for all his statements, I have never seen Roy actually do anything for the people she writes for.

As antithetical as it may sound, she's undoubtedly an unadulterated phony.
