I love Pokemon, it was the first video game, first RPG, and the game I have the most respect for. Although the band could have been better, I still loved the arrangement, especially the graphic bypassable cutscene with Gengar and Jigglypuff in the beginning.....this brings back memories.

But yes, I agree with you, I simply meant, that a conductor's job is to set the tempo, imply the dynamics, guide entrances, etc., not just to stand up on their podium, wave their arms, and look pretty... And this band doesn't exactly get that.. The conductor did a fine job, while the band did... not so well..

For the estimated Kids Age group it does not sound that bad. But i do agree there was some balanceing issues specially in the brass as some of the parts seemed a bit rushed and not Defined in their notes and some of the notes seemed a little slurred together. You should have them watch this and they would see for them selves of what im pointing out.

This looks like such a fun piece to play, but I couldn't stop thinking about how the band wasn't following the conductor. Tempo was just off. The reason why the tempo wasn't so great could possible be because 90 percent of the band wasn't looking up enough. They seemed to rely on what they hear instead of what they see.

@vincestm011 they sound similar, but the hideout has a different feeling and different melody however. compare viridian forest to the hideout by listening to the original themes from the game. the hideout theme sort of reprises viridian forest in my opinion because it has that theme the flute and oboist soloist plays incorporated into the hideout theme.

For some parts, the band could have been more together - had to put in some effort to discern the rhythm at some critical points.
