I just started BJJ w/ a wrestlers background..I always get the take down...but after that is were all my problems start..much like this match..i got alot to learn.

@thepushfitzy He swept his leg. Try looking carefully at Machado's right arm. Carlos takes out Arystos' left leg. And try to not make blind, stereotype-driven comments about wrestlers, if you don't understand the situation.

@RickMerchantttt Your right, i didn't notice. I'll admit when I'm wrong. I have rolled with countless wrestlers in my 10 years of bjj though and watched several matches against them as well. Some of my wrestler friends even admit that wrestling is a a sport that uses strength more that bjj. From my experience, white belts or wrestlers are consistently the ones doing the slamming. So, try not to make stereotypes about people on youtube when you don't evan know who your talking to.

I train under a guy named Shannon Mathers who trained under Carlos...nothin but respect for how much goes in to bjj hopefully i'll attain half as much knowledge as the legends of bjj

ADCC is open to wrestlers and grapplers, now it is almost all BJJ some traditional JJ but back then more wrestlers entered.

Carlos Machado did his first tournament at four, so yes it was easy for him.

Wrestling is an amazing base for grappling but it can't be used standalone. I'm always in awe watching a wrestler get a great takedown or do well in a scramble only to wind up in someones guard and look like a lost puppy. A soon to be submitted lost puppy.
