It is much harder to land a strait punch to the mid section like we do in WTF rules.a well rounded fighter knows how to block, perry or avoid incoming backfists. Maybe I was wrong . I think it comes down to the individual. Not the style or rules.
@glennyboyist Man An ITF blackbelt with a WTF blackbelt would sure be a good session to watch,,, But i have no doubt that ITF would come out on top,, The ITF is more rounded,, WTF wouldnt have a clue when they get a glove to the face they have no defence for it
@glennyboyist Sorry, WTF is a soft TKD and ITF is a more beligerent TDK. I did CHang Moo Kwan which is a more complete form of TKD if you exclude the punches in the face. WTF is very limited, my 8 years old son is red belt in WTF and he only started progressing when I started teaching him my attack combination. He just beated a boy with 40 pounds more than him because of his superior foot work and blocks.The problem w TDK now is that in both styles they give away too many points, no block at all

@bibihang I think there are different kinds of warnings. Like, one for illigeal blow, one for passiveness, one for going out of the ring and one for being SENT out of the ring

Now Chang Moo Kwan is fading out but for me it's still the most elegant and efficient form of TKD.

Itf sparring sucks. Stick to forms. If you wanna learn to fight start practicing WTF.
