Celica Belt Problem

this could also be a problem with the alternator bearing....the alternator may have to be replaceed

it's very easy to replace this belt, you should do it yourself, it cost 160 for a shop or dealer to do. It's only 30 bucks if you do it yourself. It took me 30 minutes to replace mine.

buy a serpentine belt from Autozone preferably the GatorBack belt.. quick install you could do it yourself, and this would get rid of this noise. + only 30 bucks

I have a Celica also and it makes the exact same noise. The toyota repairer has recommended replacing the serpentine belt to address the issue.

It's quite common for the tension pulley to be the problem, they order quite a few at Toyota garages.

They probably wont tell you that over the phone though.

Did the replaced belt fix your problem? My 2002 has the same exact serpentine belt problem. Is this covered under warranty?

Hey did you hear anything more? I have the same problem too. Although the funny part is my belt just broke tonight so ill have to put a new one in tomorrow, i should know by then if its better, but im thinking pulley too.
